How much is your 2016 Disney vacation going to cost you?

Staying a month at Fort Wilderness. We have annual passports, so tickets aren't an issue. We expect to spend about $5,000 including site fee, spending money, and eating out.

    Big Rigs

We prefer the 700 loop. Primarily because it doesn't have cypress trees. Many premium loops have these trees, and the droppings stick to our schnauzer's fur and are difficult to remove.

The Skeptical First-Timers made it back home, here's the TR! Completed!

I just found your TR today and read it in its entirety. I love that your DH finally felt the magic while at Fort Wilderness! We have been visiting WDW since 1975. For many trips we stayed in a suite in the Contemporary. Then suddenly, having never camped a day in my life, I got interested...

1st Christmas trip in WDW and 1st time in FW

    1. Preferred sites are great locations, especially loop 100. However, they are small sites. If you have a big moho, you will probably want a premium site. 4. Go to the marina and take the 10-minute boat ride to the MK. 5. I'd use Disney transportation to breakfast, then come back and...

    Is Animal Kingdom worth it?

Every time we've gone to AK it's been super crowded. Not into EE, just so-so on FOTLK. Definitely the 4th on our list of our parks to visit. Have a great trip!

    Travel Trailer Use?

We bought our first RV in 1986 ... an Airstream TT. Paid for it within a few years. Had been staying in a suite at the Contemporary accommodating 7 people. Do the math and you will definitely save money. There's nothing liike having your own bed at the fort.

    September11, 2001

10 years ago was one of the most terrifying days of my life. I was at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC, a mile away from an Air Force base. DH had towed us down there but had to leave a few days later to return to work, so my BFF came down to spend a few days with me. She had...

    Buying our First Camper...Advice/Options Wanted

You will have it for a long time? Then do your homework. Study construction details. Will it hold up for the long haul? Just because it looks nice and has the amenities you want doesn't mean that's what you should purchase for the long haul. We spent over 2 years researching our first...

newbie question about camping at fw

We're about 60 feet long with the car hauler. Were in loop 700 in May and barely had room on the site ... no way for the car to fit. Couldn't extend our awning all the way b/c of a tree in the way. Trailer was past the pad several feet into the natural area.
