If you had $10k for a Disney trip, how would you spend it? Amazingly, not a hypothetical situation.

Congratulations on your graduation and birthday! So many variables to consider. Is this your first (and likely only for a while) visit? If so, do you want to spend every possible minute in the parks so you can experience as much as possible? Are you "foodies," who want to eat at nice sit-down...

$20 charge to book a reservation?

You should be able to search your email account for an email from Walt Disney World Dining (guest.mail@wdw.disneyonline.com) with a subject of "Your Dining Reservation has been Confirmed!" It would have been sent immediately when your reservation was made and will show what date you reserved.

    Regular ride lines??

Just got back from about a week's stay at Pop. Sunday through Thursday was lightly attended. Friday and Saturday were insanely crowded.

None of the Moderates Excite Me- Needing Suggestions

I, also, suggest that you consider AoA. I know you said you weren't considering a value resort, but your toddler would likely love it. Plus the SkyLiner is a big plus.

    Dolphin or POFQ?

Ordinarily, I'd say POFQ every time. Since Disney ruined the Contemporary with a tacky Incredibles theming, POFQ is our favorite resort. But, given your tight schedule and the availability of extended evening hours to Dolphin guests, I'd go with the Dolphin. We recently did Epcot extended...

Oh Contemporary, how I miss you…

I was browsing an online auction site today and stumbled across some for-sale items from the Contemporary rooms before the Incredibles theming. The accompanying photos made me so long for the days before the redecoration was done. What was once an elegant luxury resort now strikes me as cheap...

    Minnie Van vrs regular rideshare

For us, a huge advantage for MV is the “cool factor.” Plus the CM drivers have been consistently engaging, polite, and fun.

    What was your first resort?

Contemporary in 1990. We’ve stayed there several times since, and loved it every time. But we won’t be back until they lose the tacky Incredibles theming. They have destroyed the elegance of our favorite resort with cheap decals and gawd-awful decor.

Now a question about Hollywood Brown Derby

I’m not a picky eater, but was seriously disappointed in the raved-about Cobb salad. To me it was nothing special. Risotto was terrific.

Is There Any Good Steak in Disney?

I know others have had poor experiences, but in six or so visits to Yachtsman, we have had nothing but excellent, flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked steaks there. (Once a medium-rare steak was undercooked, but it was quickly remedied.)

Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

Is that not an in-line switch in the cord near the wall outlet? (Hard to tell, but it looks like there’s a bulge in the cord…)

Best QS restaurants for people used to TS?

We like Sassagoula Float Works at POFQ (often very quiet) and Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion of EPCOT (usually busy and loud).

    Chapek's Project Legacy

I don't know what projects he'll be known for, but to me he will be remembered as the man who through projects accomplished on his watch IP'd EPCOT to its severe detriment. There was before Chapek a "purity" to EPCOT that has been cheapened by Disney IP being overlayed on Harmonius, GotG, and...

    Boardwalk Question for First timer

Stayed at BWI once, only because it was the only thing available. Wasn’t keen on it going in. Absolutely loved it. Swan is nice too, but has a decidedly “corporate” feel to it. If your main focus this trip is EPCOT, the BWI location is superior.

    I’ve Got Disney News Exhaustion

I reflect fondly on our early years as a family, and a trip or two to WDW that we could just barely afford. I don’t think people like us then today would agree with your assertion that “Price increases aren’t bad news. Smaller crowds are good news for some, but they’re bad news for families who...

    I’ve Got Disney News Exhaustion

This latest batch of price increases has about done me in. Intermingled with a few items of good news (GoTG, Connections Eatery, lights on Spaceship Earth, demise of Harmonius) it seems ever since Chapek arrived it’s a steady drip, drip, drip of bad news. This week it’s demand based G+...
