I vote Candy Cane Inn or Westin. Candy Cane is EASY. You get a cute, updated, clean, basic room. You park near your room. No long walks, elevators, etc. Great free breakfast, free parking, easy 10 minute walk or free shuttle. EASY. The Westin is going to be more of a luxury stay...

Your dates are the last 2-3 days people can use their SoCal Resident tickets. That will definitely increase the crowds. Because of this. I’d do 3 days with genie plus.

I like to buy tickets from a 3rd party. Lately, we’ve been using Undercover Tourist. They will refund your tickets for a small fee (can’t remember, maybe 5%), if you need to cancel. I love that flexibility! Tickets are also a little discounted to start with, so that’s nice too!
