best and worse meal of your last trip to WDW?

Best: 1.) Satuli Canteen (beef & chicken bowls) 2.) Beaches & Cream (Burgers & grilled cheese) 3.) Sci-Fi (burgers)

Worst: 1. Casey’s (the hot dog weren’t that bad, but the buns were so thick & dry that it ruined it)
2. O’hana - service was poor/mediocre. The skewered chicken was burned (both times they brought it around) & the steak was over cooked & chewy/dry. Big disappointment because we used to love O’hana.

I can't currently think of a best since I've had a lot of good meals at DWD but for TS it would be either TD or VN and for signature, at this moment, Jiko's or Boathouse.

Worst, hands down, would be those spring or egg rolls purchased at a food truck outside China Pavilion. What a desecration of a simple dish.

Best: Boathouse. The whole experience was a notch above any other Disney dining we’ve experienced. Oysters, clams, crab and steaks were all on point and the service was A+++.

Worst: the worst thing I ate was the Bayou burger at POR’s food court. It was salt and fat on top of salt and fat. The homemade pickles were great but not enough to save it.

Best over spring break: Chef de France, Garden Grill Breakfast and BOG dinner.
Worst: OHana breakfast. We usually enjoy this, and booked for my granddaughter to me Stitch. But the past few visits we have had horribly undercooked eggs and rock hard waffles. Asked in March for new eggs cooked longer and they came exactly the same almost 30 minutes later. We are giving this one a rest for a while.

Best: Sanaa, hands down. Amazing food, great service, the ambience couldn't be better. The only downside was having to shuttle back and forth from AK but since it was super crowded that day it was nice to get away from the mobs.

Worst: A rushed hot dog and fries 30 minutes before HEA at Cosmic Ray's. $$$ and salty, lukewarm, and just boring. Dirty tables, noisy, etc. At least I got a free Diet Coke out of it?

Worst: the worst thing I ate was the Bayou burger at POR’s food court. It was salt and fat on top of salt and fat. The homemade pickles were great but not enough to save it.

I didn’t think anything at the POR food court was good. It just wasn’t. And we ate several meals there, unfortunately.

It’s probably what would keep me from choosing POR in the future. I thought Pop’s food court blew POR’s out of the water. Everything we got there was good (and the CMs were way nicer too).

Best California Grill, Jiko very close second
Worst really not a worst, but Citricos. The food was good, just nothing that wowed us, for the second time.

Best - Via Napoli, followed by Tusker House

Worst - Hate to say it, but Sanaa. We did the animal specialist lunch and didn't find out until we arrived at Kidani that there was a resort-wide fire alarm test scheduled right in the middle of our lunch. I hoped it wouldn't be disruptive, but it was. Loud alarm blaring, flashing lights, for about twenty minutes straight. The servers weren't able to hear anyone or explain dishes, our specialist wasn't able to talk, and my partner had a flare-up of some medical issues relating to noise sensitivity and could not escape the noise as it was the entire resort, inside and out. On top of that, our entrees were just okay.

We're going back for a normal meal this trip and I hope we have a better time!

Best: Biergarten. The kids barely ate because they had so much fun dancing, while the adults stuffed their faces with tasty German food that was moist and not dry like my husband's Oma's!!! I love rouladen even more now! We will eat here every time, our new tradition!

Very close second to Tusker breakfast. Food was amazing, characters were great, conga line was so fun! We will be checking out lunch next trip. And it was empty for PPO at 8 am which was so nice.

Worst: Tie between Columbia Harbor House and Restaurantasauras. I mean, "Quick" service is a ridiculous thing to call those places. It was insanely busy, 1 order station for 2 lines needs to change when it's that busy. ANd then 1 order puller for 4 lines. Food would sit there for days on the counter. We watched as 17 people behind us got their orders, which was the same thing I ordered for my kids. Meanwhile my kids are screaming they are hungry, I asked could they just give me my nuggets so I could feed my children and he said he had to keep it all together. I was about to tackle a teenager for their plate of nuggets. It was just a terrible experience at both places. And the lobster roll, I would rather eat my own vomit.

Best: Jiko's g*d I love that place
Worst: Le Cellier My daughters mother picked this one. Steaks average to below average and a waitress arguing with my carnivore daughter that she did not want a rare steak ( and brought her a medium which I sent back).

Best - Tiffins. We always love it and it is one of the few restaurants at DW that we repeat just about every trip.
Worst - It's a tie between Chef Paul's and Rose and Crown. The food was o.k. at both, nothing great but the service was not so good at Chef Paul's and down right bad at Rose and Crown. In both of their defense, we were there late at night and close to closing so the staff might have been a bit tired. At Chef Paul, Illuminations was going off when we got to the main course (by the way I feel sorry for the people sitting by the windows because people would get up and stand at their tables to watch). Our server was also waiting on a table beside us with a mother and father and two smallish kids and she was great with them, refreshing their drinks regularly and stopping back to check on them but almost ignored us. I don't like when servers hover but we actually saw our food come out and sit on a side table for at least 10 min. before another server brought it to us while ours was talking to the table next to us about their day. At Rose and Crown, the food was o.k. although I had corned beef and cabbage and there was literally one piece of cabbage leaf in it. The server was horrible. Again, she had a big table next to us who were being very rude and picky and probably got her off her game but we had long waits between each course for her to bring us our food or take away the plates and we actually had to ask someone to find her after we were done so we could get our check. That person went to find her and after about 10 minutes came and told us she would be there soon and another 10 min. passed before we got our check. It is the only time (other than a similar experience at Sanaa) that we have left less than a 20% tip.

Best - Il Mulino. Dh and I sat in bar area and shared a pizza and pasta and a bottle of wine. Definitely has a more casual vibe than NYC but food was great.
Also Les Halles for lunch. Dh had lobster bisque and baguette, I had Niçoise salad and a glass of wine, we shared a creme brûlée. First time there and it was very reasonable and quite good.

Worst - Yachtsman. I was so excited to try it and wanted to love it but was totally underwhelmed. My steak had a rubbery texture, and I just didn’t love the atmosphere. I don’t know, I thought it would feel more sophisticated.

Best: Cali Grill, Satuli Canteen
Worst: Skipper Canteen, Contemporary Cafe

Nov 2017

My best and worst was within a less than 24-hour stay at AKL, pre-cruise.

Best: Sanaa. Good gravy, this place is fantastic. The wine list and bread service alone were worth making the ADR. We had a low cost meal here by focusing on appetizers and sharing everything family-style.

Tie for best: drinks and apps at Jiko's bar. The bartender was one of those cast members you used to run across all the time at WDW, friendly and helpful beyond usual expectations. Their version of the bread service and interesting cocktails are great, too. Lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Worst: My worst is very specific, the Zebra Domes at the Mara. YUCK. I don't think that they were bad examples of the Zebra Dome, rather I just don't enjoy that dessert. I fail to see what all the fuss is about. We didn't try anything else. The theming of Mara itself was kinda bland-looking after seeing the amazingly beautiful pool and lobby area at Kidani.

Wanted to share my last 2 trips, since they were so close together. Felt like one long trip!

Nov 2017:

Best --Via Napoli--can't say enough good about it. My picky kid went nuts for it, too.
Worst--Boardwalk Bakery--meatball sub was so dry and gross. Never again.

January 2017:

Best--Garden Grill breakfast--been dreaming about it ever since.
Worst-- nothing comes to mind, but it was a really short trip. I can't remember anything being bad.
