Haunted Mansion vs Pirates of the Caribbean

It's a tough one. Pirates is probably the better actual ride, with its more spectacular set pieces, but I feel Haunted Mansion is the more complete experience. Queue, pre-show, ride, post-show tidbit. Even more so now that Pirates has been politically corrected so much over the years. The...

The Magic is Back - Share your Experience! Superthread

It was reasonably fun but one of the downsides of going to Disneyland with my son at this time is that it was hard to really gauge his reactions to different rides and enjoy the park through him due to the necessary mask requirement. I used to be really into Disneyland but have fallen out of...

    Photopass with reopening

Yeah, it's a weird situation. It was a green "activate" button but we never paid for Photopass. I was worried that by clicking it, we would be charged, but we haven't been. I'm pretty familiar with the app as we made 4 mobile food orders yesterday and each one sent me an email confirmation...

Any difference going weekend and or after June 15th?

There seems to be a lag time when a higher level of government changes something and lower levels of government/businesses respond. Even if the restrictions are lifted on June 15th, expect the County of Orange to not respond right away, which in turn means Disneyland does not respond right away...

    Snow White's Enchanted Wish

I thought it was an impressive remaster. The original was never beloved to me like Mr. Toad (the perfect dark ride) and it was well known it ended laughably abruptly. Snow White now feels like a more complete dark ride. I agree it feels rushed but that's the nature of its footprint.

    Crowd level comparison

I went on 5/18 and my impression of it was that it depended on where you were on the park. Because the queues for Pirates and Haunted Mansion spill out into New Orleans Square, that area of park felt very much like a busy summer day despite the 25% capacity. Fantasyland felt similar in that the...

    Photopass with reopening

Did we get Photopass for free? We went to Disneyland on 5/18 and linked two photos to the app, one from Space Mountain and one from Splash Mountain. Today we saw a button that said "activate" in the Photopass area of the app, and we activated. We saw zero info about a payment but we were able...

A Guide to Surviving Disney World

Something Awful has put out a tongue-in-cheek guide to surviving Disney World. The guide is written on a sarcastic humor site that is focused on finding fault with everything. If Disney World is serious business to you don't read it...

Why I chose not to visit Walt Disney World

I posted this exact same thread on another message board. While I did receive some replies disagreeing with me and some agreeing with me, no one called me a troll. In fact they did something much more amazing, they worked with my concerns and gave me some good ideas on how to get to WDW for...

    Beware of thieves!!

Haha what? I was making fun of the person who turns in a wallet but takes the money inside. By their logic it's okay to steal the money but not the wallet.

    Beware of thieves!!

Haha, finder's fee. I wonder what goes through their heads. I mean, I'm pretty sure people care more about the money inside the wallet than the wallet itself.

    Beware of thieves!!

It happens and it's good that you posted about it. Disneyland is generally a safe place but tourists are a target so it's always smart to stay vigilant.

Why I chose not to visit Walt Disney World

I am perfectly happy right now, working on something for work in between discussion. Chicken's in the oven and should be done in about 20 minutes.

Why I chose not to visit Walt Disney World

I'm Johnny 5. Sorry, but chatting on the Internet is not the same as having a conversation in person. In real life it would be a lot harder to get away from a person you didn't want to talk to. On the Internet it's more passive. No one was forced to click a thread called "Why I chose not to...
