Riviera Available on WDW Site

An interesting thing to note is I think the model rooms might actually be done. As the Tower Studio and Grand Villa photos say they are artistic renderings but the Deluxe Studio and 1/2 Bedroom do not state this. They actually state it is a model room. I wonder when they will begin touring them.

I was hoping I'd get lucky and this would open for my Sept 22nd trip so I could check it out. Maybe next year!

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I love the design/aesthetic choices of this new resort. Looks lovely! Modern, but with a touch of European charm. If I could get my house to look like that, I'd be in heaven. Looooove it.

That said, my itchy trigger finger wants to add on one night here at the end of our stay in late November. I'm anxious to hear about points charts, military discounts, and whether those tower studios will accommodate 2 adults plus a 2 year old.

I'm also very curious what the theming will be for the character breakfast experience at the restaurant. I can't think of any Disney characters that for the European theme, although I do see that the kid's water play area (adorably named "s'il vous play") will feature Fantastia characters, which feels appropriate.

So, am I just drinking the Kool-aid here? Or does this look lovely to anyone else?

The only thing is that they are booking cash reservations beginning mid-december, so I don't think it'll be available to book end of November!

Okay, I answered my own question about the 2 year old by doing a room availability check on the WDW website. The answer is yes, the tower studios will accept a 3rd guest under age 3.

The will begin accepting earlier reservations once they announce the opening date. Right now, they're accepting late December onward, because they can guarantee it'll be open by then. Once the date is announced, it'll be available for both points and cash reservations at that time. I called DVC member services to confirm.

I think the hope was for the 2 person occupancy (where you can’t add kids to the reservation) tower studios having a king bed as an upgrade.
Chances are that a king size Murphy bed would have been too unwieldy for most guests. That, and the space a appears too tight to accommodate the width (you would lose those drawers) and the length (no room to pass around the foot of the bed).

I just noticed when looking at the monthly rate charts for the Deluxe Studio which sleeps Five, that:
  • Additional per adult charges may apply if more than 2 adults per room
And yes, I was doing room only charges.

I believe that's normal on the cash side of things.

How does that murphy bed even fold down with the sofa there? I need a video of the transition. Hoping this resort opening offers some movement in other resorts fall inventory.

Not sure if this is the exact model, but like this.

From the manufacturers (Inova) website (https://inovabed.com/):
Inova Sofa-WallBeds transform from a stylish and comfortable sofa to an equally comfortable bed in seconds. Our patented EasyMotion feature eliminates the need to remove and store sofa cushions. As the bed is lowered, the seat and back of the sofa automatically pivot and tuck under the structure as it transforms from sofa to bed.
