Side note sorry I have not been around. Things have been crazy at my house. I got my dining room chairs recovered this weekend though. :) I put a thin plastic on top of them too to protect them a bit. I am about to start painting my house doing murals in the kids rooms so I am not gonna be around as much. :( But it will be worth it when it is done! We are doing our foster boy room in Mickey and Friends I have to find clear color pages to do them with. :D And our foster girl room is going to be Princesses and the other strong female characters. I even found a Tiana that I am going to use and add her in with everyone else. :goodvibes
Good luck with the painting/decorating!! I am glad to see bigger pictures in your siggy so we can see you all better :)
Here's a princess outfit I made for a friend's daughter who is turning 3. It's part of her birthday present. She is just a little peanut :cutie: so it seems so small to me. Gee I hope it fits her. Anyway, its a swing top and shorts for when they go to Disney this summer. Terribly hot in the summer I say. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Thanks guys just have to share my fabric though lol. :) http://www.decoratingfabric.com/catalog_itemdetail.cfm?ItmID=D5447
This is what I redid my chairs in. I am putting a box valance in my nook/dining room in the same fabric. And my curtains are a denim. My kitchen, dining and entry way are all kind of a pass through otgether so I have to make them all the same color. So it is going to be white trim throughout then I am painting the top border probably the navy and then the lower half one of the mid level blues. :) My kitchen has a mostly Disney stuff like cookie jars etc. So I am going to use an opposite kind of paint same color and paint mickey heads. So they are hidden mickeys. Does that mean I am obsessed lmao.

My house is all the same color and it is starting to make me crazy lol.

My siggy is actually my old one it is just clearer than my other and I still love the pictures on it especially the ones of my kiddos lol. The one of Shelby is from her jr high graduation and she dislikes it but it is one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken of her. Alex is goofing doing a Randy Orten pose. The one in the middle is the first time we ever saw fantasmic as a family. :goodvibes:

Twob4him ~ I love that fabric! That is the cutest little outfit. :)

This is so totally cool!! Is that the Michael Miller Eiffle tower fabric I see? I can only find that on :wizard: ! Is it an older print?

Yes, that's the Eiffel Tower print. I just did a quick search on quiltshops.com and found the bright pink at a couple online stores.

HK is looking a little sassy...
lisa are you participating in the blackout?

Yes and no. Sorry to be wishy-washy but not sure how much detail I can bring up on this board since it involves a discussion of selling on :wizard: :goodvibes

I love this Lisa! Especially the "real" skirt on HK. Is rouching (or however you spell it) very hard? How wide a strip of fabric do you use? And you just serge-finish the edges then run a gather stitch down the middle then stitch over that when you attach it? Or have I got it all wrong? I'm going to attempt this on DDs easter dresses--if I ever get my fabric. I ordered some from fabricattic.com I ordered 5 yards last week and they just now email me to tell me they only have 4 yards :headache:  :sad2: :scared: I guess I'll just have to make it work somehow.

I usually do a rolled edge hem with my serger because it gives a nice edge plus I think it helps emphasize the ruffling on the edge. I have used my ruffler foot to do the gathering but I prefer to use the old-fashioned method of 2 rows of basting stitches. That allows me to more easily remove the gathering stitching once the ruffle is attached because I can sew between the basting rows. I make the strips for the ruffles about 2" wide, maybe just slightly wider.

That's a good question. Obviously they were with us on the old boards under a different name...sneaky..

Ok another thing that didn't make sense to me- they had "joined" in oct. 07 and never posted anywhere else before the other day the post count was 3 and they posted here 3 times :confused3 very curious  :sad2:

Come on people give credit where credit is due- if your CASEing say so!!!

And :yay: the baby took a nap!!!! She asked to go nigh nigh- it was cute! She is getting more teeth I think! :scared:

SewingProjects039.jpg

I added the front scalloped edge with a bit of a Disney touch to make it look like it belongs to a 5 year old. It needs a little fun don't you think.

That is such a rad idea! I love it. great job. we need to do that for some of the folks at work!

adorable. I love the fabric combo!

Both dogs love it already.
P2171891.jpg

Oh how cute do they look. They do look like they love it. So it wasn't *too* hard?? I would love to make my doggy a new bed!

love the outfit! and Georgia just came up and said "who is that girl, she sure looks like she is having fun swimmin'. Makes me wanna go swimmin' at Grandmas house."

I just finished this set. Don't know if anyone else is awake still but I thought I'd share anyway. :goodvibes

They ended up with 2nd place!!! I'm pretty proud of them, since they just learned this new routine in the beginning of January.:woohoo:

WAHOOO! Second place, and they just learned the routine. That is awesome!

Ok, so I've finally uploaded the pictures of what we've been up to lately. This is why there's been no sewing lately!!!

Emily's team competed in their first competition of the year at the FL State Fair last Saturday.

NEBStateFair1.jpg

That's her in the back, on top.

NEBStateFair2.jpg

Yep, on top again. Emily thinks it's funny that she gets to look at the sky. :scared1:

NEBStateFair3.jpg

Final stunt of the routine!

How cute!!! I love miniature cheerleaders and those curls are adorable. Is that a hair piece or their real hair?
Aww do you have any pictures to share?? We want to redo our DD's room too. I would love to see what you did to your little one's room!!
I have to put the final touches on her room in a little bit and then I will post pictures.

Where do you all find your fabrics? do you get them in a store, or online?

We dont have any fabric places around here and our Walmart fabric dept well....just doesnt carry much.

Oh how cute do they look. They do look like they love it. So it wasn't *too* hard?? I would love to make my doggy a new bed!

The thing that made it hard was sewing when the pillows were in there. If I would have just sewed the last parts by hand it probably would have been easier. But gosh darn it, I wanted to use my machine!

CASE-

I was going to say something about this earlier but I did not. This is no way to offend anyone. If you have ever cased anything you cannot complain about someone caseing something of yours. For example I cased the winter Cinderella dress. Then a couple people cased me. I did not complain. Was it wrong of me to case that outfit from :wizard:. I only made it for my daughter. That is iffy. Well what if she outgrows it? Can I resell it?

Wasn't Designed*by*Dena one of the first people to use the "friends" fabric to make a Epcot outfit? She has been indirectly cased over and over again. By the way she makes fabulous clothes. :lovestruc I understand how an artist can get upset when their work is copied. I found in my Christmas Collection I just had to step it up a notch because the next great thing was around the corner.

This forum is a place to share ideas and techniques. I have been sewing for less than a year. I have learned so much from the ladies on this board. It is a place to share pattern ideas, fabric finds and new techniques. I only know how to applique because of Lisa. She gave me invaluable advice. I wish mine looks as good as hers though! LOL

I hate to say it but last July my husband came to the fabric store and saw the silver quilted fabric and said hey you should make the epcot ball. I didn't because I hate Epcot. LOL I guess he was cased too. :rotfl2:

We have a Jo Ann's and Hancocks locally. I also love reprodepot.com. They are more expensive but have some really beautiful fabric. I also find out of print Disney stuff on :wizard: I would also look up any local quilt shops. Again they are more expensive but the quality is great. You just have to go with a plan and budget or it can be a pretty expensive trip. LOL

Tell me about it! When did 10 become so complicated?????

Riley has friends that are soooooo "worldly" I guess it the word I would use. I try to keep her in our little world and not get her all worried about things like Britney Spears, but some of her friends know sooooooo much about the world. I am just not ready for that!

Plus, she's like 5'4" and wearing bigger shoes than I do! What happened to my baby?????:confused3

Arminda will be 10 in May. I'm thankful that she doesn't seem too interested in acting old! I know some of her friends have boyfriends allready! :scared1: But, Arminda still plays with her stuffed animals and toys. Riley is really tall! Arminda is the opposite! She is so tiny! She's just over 4 foot!

I decided to add the corset tutorial there because I'm never sure how long the practiceboard or practicewriter pages will be accessible. I've had practiceboard pages last for months but they do eventually get deleted as they clear out space. I don't have as much experience with practicewriter but assume they, too, clear things out eventually... especially since I'm not paying anything. LOL

Shannon, revrob, posted a good section on applique that others have added to. Eventually, I want to do another tutorial but want to do it when I can have supporting photos to include. I'm definitely a visual learner so seeing

I knew it wouldn't last, so I copied it! ;) I just put it on my blog (and linked to it in the bookmarks). I did find Shannon's applique tutorial after I posted, so I went ahead and added that to the bookmarks too. Let us know when you add one with pictures, that should be really helpful!

Those that asked about the link to LisaZoe's amazing tutorials - I have a link in my siggy. If it is against DIS policy, I'll remove it, but no one has said anything, so I'm assuming it's ok. I'll keep it there for anyone that wants to take a look at any time!
I was told I had to have a linkback to the Dis on my bookmarks site, so you will want to make sure you have that somewhere on your site. Otherwise, I can't see why they would mind.

I agree with you about CASEing we all do it and it's kinda of the point of this thread to share ideas and inspire each other. The point I was making is that castle emailed the seller on ebay and they mysteriously showed up here and claimed they knew nothing about her design- clearly they have been on our thread and have seen all our stuff and have been using it for ideas, which is fine. It was the mysterious appearance and claiming they were their own ideas part that bothered me. The sneaking around. I think we all take inspiration from each other and take things we see and put our own spin on it. There haven't been many CASEs that have been an exact replica. Not that the :wizard: situation was.
That's all I was saying and I hope I have not offended anyone. :flower3:

I am watching night rider and it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought that was pretty good too! I liked the end!

We went to the zoo today for Camden's B-day with Wendy's Family and Jhammy's family it was a Blast

Here is Camden's B-day outfit .

The ZOO! In FEBRUARY???? :cold: Is it usually open in the winter? Or was it a special event?

Camden's outfit is adorable!!
Fantastic stuff ladies... I have been an off and on again lurker... may have posted before but can't remember and too many pages to check.... The past 2 weeks I started doing some of my own.... Starting off Easy w/ pillowcase dresses that I modified a little to work for me....mostly just added the belt and am making from scratch rather than a pillowcase :) .... Here are my 1st 4 tries.... 3 are for DD and 1 is for my neice that my DD is showing off for you all :)

Nemo Dresses.... the one w/ the princess "belt" is DD's...
Front

Very cute!!! I made a little belt to go with Lyddy's too.

Thank you!! I was starting to think I hadn't posted the picture, after all! :rotfl: I thought it was fairly difficult to make. You can't "fudge" anything when there's no gathering or ruffles involved! So, I was pretty proud of the way it turned out! !

I commented too, did it show up? I should recheck to make sure!

I AM looking a little sassy, aren't I? So is my husband!
:rotfl2:
(Both our initials are HK)

You always were a sassy little thing!

Final stunt of the routine!

NEBStateFair4.jpg

They ended up with 2nd place!!! I'm pretty proud of them, since they just learned this new routine in the beginning of January.:woohoo:

WOW!!! Congratulations!!! That's great!

It took me a YEAR to get someone to pay attention to the intense pains that I was having that turned out to be cancer. Please don't give up, if I had stopped pushing I may not be on this earth anymore. . . not to say that it will be the same for you, but you just have to be persistent. You and your family will be in my prayers. . . .

That is so scary. My MIL was misdiagnosed for so long that by the time they found her stomache cancer it had ravaged her body. She had surgery and did go on to live for a few more years, but it had been left way too long and it eventually came back and since she was covered with scar tissue on her insides so they could not operate again.

I find that people who haven't had trouble getting care from their doctors don't quite "get" that in this country it can sometimes be difficult to get a dianosis. Even with insurance!

Be persistant and never let someone make you doubt your concerns. You make them prove to YOU that what you feel is not serious and don't accept that as an answer until you are 100% satisfied.

I have to remind myself that I am not trying to make friends with my doctors. If they don't like me it's too bad! I think as women we are always worried that someone will think we are *#&($y. Well, I had to be a *&^$# to save my daughter and I wish I had done it sooner!

This makes me so angry. Why do these things happen? When Heather first went to the doctor, before we knew she had APS, the doctor told her it was acid reflux and sent her home! The next day she was in so much pain, we talked her into going back to the doctor. We then found out she had NUMEROUS blood clots and a very large one in her portal vein. The first doctor didn't listen to her symptoms and almost killed her! It makes me shake even now thinking about what she went through. Sometimes it just seems like she's been though ENOUGH! Is it too much for her too at least find a doctor that will LISTEN?????????? How hard is THAT?

Here's a princess outfit I made for a friend's daughter who is turning 3. It's part of her birthday present. She is just a little peanut :cutie: so it seems so small to me. Gee I hope it fits her. Anyway, its a swing top and shorts for when they go to Disney this summer. Terribly hot in the summer I say. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
