cute :cutie: it all worked out great.

okay , i have a cocker spaniel and for her colors pink and brown please! that is too cool:thumbsup2 did you use a pattern?

The pattern was Easy Stitch 'n Save by McCalls M5506. It was really difficult. I was wanting to make my girl dog a bed with some pink fabric, but I probably won't be going with this pattern. It was too hard. :thumbsup2

I actually have 3 boys and all are afflicted with foot and ankle issues. You wouldn't notice it in a normal daily situation. Their issues appear if they over use their feet. They have acute leg pain which results in them being in enough pain that they can't even sleep. The younger 2 both have wheelchairs now, which we have to use for amusement parks and trips to the mall etc. Anytime where they would be on their feet for extended periods of time. We had ds10's chair last year and made a canopy and cover for it. That chair is set up totally different so the canopy that we repurposed this year simply would not fit that chair. I'm sure you will be able to come up with something, but be prepared to think outside the box. Let me know if you need any help.

ETA: That was my 9000th post. I'll guess I'll call it a night :lmao:

Snubie, I thought it was good, I didn't get to see every single minute, I was running back and forth watching it and coloring my hair (er. hiding my grays, when did I get gray? I swear I wasn't 5 weeks ago) but I saw most of it. I'm glad we have it on the DV-R so I can go back and watch what I missed.

I just noticed that your DD's little icon is Stitch! I love it. If you could mix Stitch with a Princess you'd get mine, very girlie but it's often like living at Cirque de Soliel here. DH will lay down on his back, DD will walk onto his stomach and she will put one foot in each of his hands, and he will lift her up. She also swings from her loft bed like a monkey.

Fantastic stuff ladies... I have been an off and on again lurker... may have posted before but can't remember and too many pages to check.... The past 2 weeks I started doing some of my own.... Starting off Easy w/ pillowcase dresses that I modified a little to work for me....mostly just added the belt and am making from scratch rather than a pillowcase :) .... Here are my 1st 4 tries.... 3 are for DD and 1 is for my neice that my DD is showing off for you all :)

Strawberry Shortcake... I accidentally didn't get the creases right so I figure I'll find something to look like a pin or something so it looks like there's a reason for the gather on the left side :confused3

I'm happy to have this project completed. One more thing that I can check off my to do list :cool1:

:worship: Oh my goodness...that is AWESOME!!! Look at how creative you are!!! I bet your son already loves it!!!! You did an outstanding job!!

As you may have guesed from Teresa's comment earlier, my appointment with the new hematologist did NOT go well! It was a complete waste of my time. I got there and she starts looking at my chart on the computer and she asks "Did they ever find out why you had that super huge (yes she said super huge) blood clot in your portal vein?" I said "Because I have antiphospholipid antibody syndrome." She said "Oh!" She didn't even know what was wrong with me, or why I was there!!!!! She knew absolutely nothing about it, and just kept telling me "I think you'll be just fine." when I mentioned the extreme fatigue and sometimes excruciating pain I have in my muscles. When I left, I went out to my car and cried. She's the 4th doctor I've been to about this and none of them seem to think it's a problem for a 33 year old to have debilitating muscle pain, for days at a time, for no apparent reason. Okay, that was way more than you guys probably wanted to know. But, I'm really frustrated with the whole situation.

Heather - I am so sorry you are going through all that. I don't blame you one tiny bit, I would be really frustrated too. I sure hope you find a doctor soon who can help you!!! And hope you start to feel better soon!!!

Here's how the shirt looks when Sawyer throws a tantrum because he wants it off. In his defense, it was nap time.

:goodvibes Aww I think that is so great that all of you are friends. You guys all met here on the DIS right??

OMG I'm almost done - I feel like I've spent my day hand ruffling. Pics in the morning (well my morning lol :) )

oh boy. wait only 13 more pages and this thread is gone correct everyone?
If I'm understanding correctly than yes when this thread reaches 250 pages it will be locked. I say that when that happens a new thread should be opened and the first post should contain the original post from this thread and a link to this thread.

Has anyone found any new patterns lately...It seems like it's the same old stuff when I look online and in the pattern books. We need to create something new..I saw these great zuma's that we're appliqued with Rapunzel. They were adorable. I wish I saved a picture. But I was thinking about trying to do a Cinderella pair. With maybe her castle in the background.
I guess I should finish my project that I'm already working on. Well I bought the fabric, but haven't cut anything yet. I wanted to do an appliqued set with Tinkerbell, Hook, The alligator, and Wendy..
I have a bunch of new patterns. Right now I have a pile of stuff that needs to finished first. Right now I am trying to get my house super organized that way I won't feel bad about sewing for awhile.

I finally got DD's room in order. It really is cute and girlie. I'm so happy. I just realized tonight that this is the first time that DD has had a room of her own with decorations just for her also.

I just finished this set. Don't know if anyone else is awake still but I thought I'd share anyway. :goodvibes

When I first started making things last year, these were what I did. They came out much better than mine :) After I finished them, I realized that my dd was way too skinny for the pillowcase dresses, so I ended up putting elastic waists in all of them.

I have this Mickey fabric from eons ago. I think I must have made something for DS's first trip to WDW back in '98.

It's nothing my DD is interested in, was wondering if anyone wanted to swap for a comparable sized piece? (Basically looking for something brighter and girl-y. If anyone has a swirly Mickey heads, I'd be especially interested! Our fabric store has NOTHING Mickey- ugh!)

This piece is a rough 28"x 44". Hard to see but that is a quarter in the middle as a size reference. Color is pretty accurate on my monitor, but I'd say it's a dusty periwinkle color. (??) I'd swap for a similar size. Let me know if you're interested!

Heather....
I went in search of info for Dr's that have knowledge of and specialize in APS- I'm sure you've already seen this site, but just in case, if you go to www.aps.org there is a place you can click on your state and find Dr.'s that could probably sympathize a little better with you and your condition. There's nothing worse then going to Dr. after Dr. trying to get some help and getting none!

Hope that helps friend.
Thank you so much, Carrie! That was sweet of you to look for a link for me! The way that site works is people can recommend their own hematologist. I actually recommended my first hematologist and they put him on the site when I was first diagnosed. I didn't realize at the time how outdated his knowledge about the disease was! There is no one else close to me on there. I'm thinking I may have to travel 3 hours to find a good doctor!

Thanks to everyone else who is sending prayers and good thoughts my way. You are all so great!! :grouphug: I do know what's causing my fatigue and muscle pain. It's the very same disease that caused the blood clots! But, all of the hematologists I've been to do not realize that the disease has other ramifications besides clots. I do not want prescribed pain killers (the posibility of addiction scares me more than the pain)- just some acknowledgement that I'm even having pain and fatigue!! I have a great international messageboard that I go to about antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. It seems that other countries are more up-to-date with their information on this disease. I'm thankful that I don't have this pain as often as I used to, but it would be nice if someone could look into finding out how to stop it!

Heather, I have a bunch of boyish Disney fabrics to make the same kind of shirts for my son who is 5. I wanted to make a few matching for my husband. We also have this same Cars fabric. I just showed my son, Jake, this and he asked if it was his. :rotfl: :rotfl:

No honey, your fabric is sitting in a bag in the storage closet.:rotfl2:

I'm intimidated by the buttons but we have until Oct so I think I can work up to it. Was it hard to do? It looks great.
Thank you!! I was starting to think I hadn't posted the picture, after all! :rotfl: I thought it was fairly difficult to make. You can't "fudge" anything when there's no gathering or ruffles involved! So, I was pretty proud of the way it turned out!

This came out great. I always like the camp style shirts on little guys :thumbsup2
Thank you!!!

My lil sister has HeliCo Bactor disease and it took forever and like 7 doctors later for them to figure it out ... i hope that things work out for you soon ...

That is too cute i made one of those last night for Camden and mine looks blah compared to yours this was also my 1st attempt at anyting like this too, i learned to sew the size i need not make it a lil bigger ...:confused3

You did a great job on that shirt! I love it! Funny how we both posted on the same day and made the same kind of shirt out of cars fabric, when so little is posted for boys! I like the appliqued pants, too! I want to do that with some shorts for Sawyer. I was also thinking of replacing a pocket on a pair of cargo shorts with the Cars fabric.

I'm sorry to hear about your sister's health problems. It's so hard to find a doctor who knows as much as they think they do! :lmao:

What an absolutely adorable bunch of kids!!!!

Wow, what a beautiful little girl you have!!!! You did a great job on the pillowcase dresses! I like the belt with them, too. Very cute!

Aww he is adorable.....so is the shirt. I am a little scared to try shirts lilke that. You did a great job!!
Thank you, it means so much to me to have feedback from you all when I post something!!

As you may have guesed from Teresa's comment earlier, my appointment with the new hematologist did NOT go well! It was a complete waste of my time. Okay, that was way more than you guys probably wanted to know. But, I'm really frustrated with the whole situation.

I am wondering if the muscle pain/fatigue is related to or totally independent of the APS. If it were the same muscle I would be concerned that it was a clot forming there. But in any case, you need to find a hemotologist who specializes in Hughs Syndrom right? Perhaps you could do a search for hemotologists in Michigan. Here is one site:

https://store.hematology.org/fah/fahhome.htm

There is a huge list of doctors and what they specialize in: For example:

Name: Judith C. Andersen, MD
Company: Karmanos Cancer Institute
Wayne State University

Department:
Address: 4100 John R., 4HWCRC

City: Detroit
State/Province: MI
Postal Code: 48201
Country: United States

Phone: (800) KAR-MANO Ext:

Specialties:

Int Med: Hematology

Clinical Interests:

Anemia
Bleeding Disorders
Thrombosis and Hemostasis/Blood Clotting
Transfusion Medicine
Myeloproliferative Disorders
Myelodysplastic Syndromes

Well in any case, you already know you have to be proactive and do your own research and talk to other people (like on your APS board you belong to).Just don't give up till you get what you want. Course then there is the insurance companies to deal with. I just watched Michael Moore's movie "Sicko". Perhaps you can go go Canada or Cuba or Europe for free help!:sad2: Sad state of affairs in the USA.
OK well keep us informed! We love ya!!!
