Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thanks so much for the info. I'm wondering if it's better to book a different room category for a better chance at a full balcony?

Interesting question. Answer is probably yes.

In a Deluxe Room, sounds like there is a 50% chance of a full balcony, but since the inventory is limited, there is probably no chance for changing your room if you are assigned one of the others.

In the regular, resort rooms at the BC, about 50% of the rooms have full balconies. Same percentage, but there are more rooms and a better possibility of asking for a room change to a room with a full balcony. I am not sure if there is a category of these rooms (standard view, garden or water) that would give you a better chance. Smaller space than the Deluxe rooms.

In the BC Club Level rooms, about 75% of the rooms have full balconies, and if I recall correctly, all 8-9 of the BC CL Garden View rooms have full balconies. Smaller space than the Deluxe rooms, but other perks with the higher price tag.

Actually, that's what I did. I have it saved in my "trips". It isn't a huge deal not to pay it all off at once...but I'll need a few more disney gift cards to do that :) I still have the full 7 night BCV booked and I'll wait to drop the first 4 nights of that before I grab the 4 separate nights at YC. I kind of wanted to split that 7 night stay anyway but hubby is the one who would just as soon stay in one place! Of course, when I told him we'd save a bit over $100 by splitting the stay he was all for it, lol! We're using that $100ish to stay one night for the SWGE AP preview 5 days earlier ;) I still can't believe we are flying back and forth twice in the last weeks of August.....
Are you sure that you can drop those 4 nights at BCV? Disney has changed their policy and they are not as liberal as they use to be when guests want to add or subtract days to their existing reservation.

You're welcome! It seems strange because it isn't the traditional pull out couch. It is actually very simple to do. There is an illustrated picture and black strap. You just basically pull the strap towards you and you are done!

(This time this is my photo 😂 )

Thanks for both photos of the daybed open and closed.

Do you (or anyone) have a photo of the picture tag as seen above that describes how to open the daybed? I haven't searched the interwebs, but would like to have it in my file photos.

:thanks:

First stay at YC from 10/27 - 11/2, really looking forward to my first Deluxe and the walkway to DHS ans Epcot.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Does anbody know how long the Lazy River is open? Due to the flight, I don't arrive until 9.30p.m., but I would love to start my time at Disney with a relaxing float-round😅

Any recommendations regarding room request? I've booked Garden View (only thing available at AP-discount), would love a more or less quiet room, with private balcony, perhaps with partial river-room and not so far (<10 mins) away from Lobby..
Thank you!

What she said (see below).

Only thing for me to add is that pool hours for Stormalong Bay in Oct 2018 and 2017 were 9 am to 9 pm. The pool stayed open some weekends until 10 pm in October.

:fish:

The latest that SAB is open tends to be 10pm, but in late October it is very likely that it will be closed by 9pm or earlier. The operating times are flexible and dependent on the weather and crowds. But the quiet pools are open until 11pm if you want to relax a bit. They have hot tubs at all YC/BC/BCV pools.

The request for a garden view room close to the lobby with a partial view of Crescent Lake would be a gazebo view room. Or you can just request exactly what you want and see what happens. :)

Here now...We checked into YC yesterday for an 8 night stay. Within 2 hours I was saying to my husband, “Uh oh... our Disney World trips just got a lot more expensive because we’re always going to have to stay here now.” He agreed. We are completely blown away by this resort and the whole Epcot resort area. It’s beautiful, quiet, amazing, and we cannot get over the fact that we can walk to two parks!!

Hope your trip has continued to be spectacular!

:woohoo:

Our first stay is in two weeks. Very excited!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for August. Which resort? BC/YC or BCV?

:cool1:

Look who showed up at the pool the other day! Yesterday we saw Donald and Daisy walking along the perimeter of the pool!

Thanks so much for posting the pictures! These are great!

📸

I have forgotten to request to be added to the roll call! Really looking forward to our first stay!

Ksromack and dh Aug 26-Sept 2, BCV

I have you on the list, with slightly different info, Aug 27 check-in with a 1 night YC stay. Shall I adjust to what you have listed above?

:goodvibes

Hey all! We're a few weeks out from our trip and had a couple of questions....

1. On our honeymoon, we stayed CL at BC and my mildly irritable stomach loved having some hot oatmeal in my belly each morning. This year, we're not staying CL, and I was wondering...do they sell single serve oatmeal in the BC marketplace? And if so, is there a microwave you can use there? On previous WDW trips, my stomach has given me trouble, and I realized last year that I think it's the whole not-getting-something-solid in your belly thing. We do a planned ADR breakfast once or twice per trip, but for the other days, a quick, hot oatmeal would be super! (We are staying in the hotel BTW, not BCV)

2. Any update on the work they were doing on the 1st floor at BC? Have they moved to the 2nd floor, or has anyone seen the results of the work? I know they said it was an Wifi upgrade, but I'm secretly hoping that maybe there were some other minor renos!

3. This is off topic, but while I have y'all's attention, I'll make it quick! Does anyone know what's going on with Tower of Terror? I can't get a single FastPass for our entire trip other than late at night on one day. This has NEVER happened before. I've also checked wait times for the past week or so, and ToT wait times have been insane! Can anyone explain?

Thanks!:ccat:
There is oatmeal available at the QS counter at the Marketplace, so no microwave needed. (Though there is one if you need it extra hot. 😉)

I still have the full 7 night BCV booked and I'll wait to drop the first 4 nights of that before I grab the 4 separate nights at YC.
Are you sure that you can drop those 4 nights at BCV? Disney has changed their policy and they are not as liberal as they use to be when guests want to add or subtract days to their existing reservation.

Wood Nymph beat me to it. My understanding is that if you book 7 days and want to drop 4, you have to do it as though you are cancelling your entire 7-day stay and booking a new 3-day stay -- and you can't book the new one unless the days are available BEFORE you cancel the old one.

I think it's most problematic if you booked under a particular deal. So if you booked under the "Best Summer Deal Ever" (which I am making up), and at the time you try to make the change the 3 nights you want to keep are not available under the "Best Summer Deal Ever," then you won't be able to re-book at that price.

Page 1495-1496

Were going the week before Thanksgiving. When the AP discount rates came out we snagged a YC GV too - as I checked during the rest of the day (I just keep refreshing most of the day) a YC CL popped up, however when I finally got ahold of my wife to confirm I should book it instead it was gone. I’d keep checking...

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

Saw a BC Standard View CL open up today with an AP discount and we switched! Was looking forward to maybe a little more tranquility at YC but CL + easier walk to Epcot made it a no brainer switch. BC CL here we come!! Now to read up & find out if anything has changed at BC CL since we stayed a couple years ago!

Fingers crossed for both of you!

When is your trip?

:woohoo:

Excited to be staying at the YC for the first time at the end of October. We are at the BCV for 10 days and decided to add 2 night on to the beginning of our stay. Originally had a SV room at the BC booked for the 2 extra nights, but when the AP discount came out I was able to get a GV room at the YC and save money!

I'll adjust the list.

:goodvibes

I've gotta say, the amount of information and detail in this thread is awesome! We will be staying at BC in a standard room from 11/30-12/6. This is our first Deluxe stay so the excitement level is pretty high.

What is the coffee pot situation like? It looks like some rooms might have Keurigs?

:welcome: to the thread.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1, Post 15.

Thanks for the kind words! We have a great group of posters here who contribute to this thread. :grouphug:

That is exactly the deal on the coffee makers at the BC. Some Cuisinart pod makers, some Keurigs, don't know which rooms have which makers or how many of each.

:coffee:

Just back from a quick split stay 7/18-7/22 BC/YC. First two nights at BC in room 4547, water view with daybed and full balcony.
YC room 3077 water view, day bed, shower only.

This is a weak water view in my opinion. It’s more green than anything.
The crowds didn’t seem as dense as the did mid June. We were pleasantly surprised! I think we are back to the YC as our favorite. The beds seem larger and nicer and we don’t miss the carpet.
I think we might try to pull a trip off this fall. :teeth:

Thanks so much for the pictures and description of your rooms.

What type of coffee maker did you have in the BC room?

Hope to see you posting back about a fall trip.

:thumbsup2

Had our family photos taken today! This is the third time that we have had them done at Disney and have always been happy with the photos. We had them done once at the Poly and twice here at BC. We all prefer the BC, it could be because this is all of ours favorite resort 😉

Awesome!

What great keepsakes.

::yes::

Those family photos are really beautiful!! Makes me itch to get back to WDW :)

:welcome: to the thread!

Sorry, I just double checked my phone from YC stays and don't personally have one. I'll see if I can try and find one.

note to self: update fonts on listing to be consistent
Can you please add us? :) 6/8/20-6/14/20 - BCV (Celebrating our oldest DDs HS graduation!)

We have a trip booked for December 4th to 9th and there haven’t been any Disney discounts for those dates. I checked a conference schedule and there will be one at the Yacht Club from December 8th to 12th. The Epcot resorts are always popular in the fall and the discounts are usually hard to find.

How can you search for the conference schedule at Yacht Club?

I have you on the list, with slightly different info, Aug 27 check-in with a 1 night YC stay. Shall I adjust to what you have listed above? :goodvibes
I promise this is the real deal now. We are staying YC Aug 26-30, BCV Aug 31-Sept1, then Poly studio and CCV for 2 nights each after BCV.

So, it wouldn't let me modify my 7 night stay at BCV online, said I had to call (I had a 6 night BCV-Summer/AP discount {really only 3 of them had the discount} then a 1 night BCV-to get the Fall/AP room discount). It wasn't a problem, the CM took the 4 nights off the top of my reservation at BCV while I was on the phone with her. I told her I wasn't booking the YC until I was sure I could modify my original one...she assured me it was ok so I booked my first 4 nights at YC, Garden/Woods view. I saved about $117 doing this. I actually love split stays and having booked YC and BCV pretty much completes our resort stays. We will probably utilize SAB at least once but if it's too crowded I see us spending time at the villa pool. Very excited!

What a great idea! We're going next summer for our daughter's Sweet 16. I thought about doing one of the Disney Celebrations, but I think ordering specialty cookies at home and setting it up for her in our room will be just as exciting for her.

:welcome:

That is definitely a great idea to make your daughter's BD special.

Your signature says summer 2020- YC/POly split. Which month?

:cool1:

I have posted a couple of questions here but didnt know you guys were keeping track of upcoming trips too! :) We are staying for the first time at BC (and any deluxe resort for that matter) in a little over 3 weeks (8/16-8/24) and cannot be more excited!! Little man will be 16 months this trip and both sets of grandparetns are coming along for the first time so a bit scary but very exciting!

3 more quick questions:

-Do all first floor rooms have some sort of patio or is that only for ones with certain view types?
-I know that BC and YC share their buses to MK, AK, etc. correct? But do they also share with BW or is it only BC/YC?
-Does the sink/vanity area have a door that closes it off from the rest of the room? We used that area as a pseudo bedroom for our son's pack and play last trip at POFQ (it had a curtain actually, not a sliding door) and would like to be able to seperate him a bit this time as well if we want to stay up a little bit after him and watch TV or hang out on our patio/balcony (if we are lucky enough to snag one).

Cheers!!

I will add the exact dates to your listing.

I agree with the answers that have already been given

1. As far as I know all first floor rooms have patios, but there are only GV and WV rooms on that floor. No Standard View rooms on the first floor.
2. It is very rare for the BC/YC to share with BW or any other resort to the theme parks (MK or AK). Maybe Disney Springs, not sure, I have not been there in more than 6 years.
3. No separation. Someone once suggested bringing a curtain with suction cups, or something similar, I believe.

:goodvibes

I agree with likely no discounts at YC. We're December 4-11. We've never been at a hotel that's hosting a conference...does it have much effect on us vacationers?

I'll update the days of your stay on the list.

:woohoo:

I was able to get an AP discount for Nov 30-Dec 4th. Try leaving out December 5th, it seems to be a problem date for multiple resorts. You may have to try each day separately. Don't give up, something may open up later as you get closer to your dates. The convention peeps won't have much effect on vacationers, they are in meeting all day...which leaves them out of the pools and buses...bonus!! The only issue we have had, and that was only a couple of times in many many trips, was them taking over the bar and making a lot of noise. That happened at the GF though not the YC.

Is your stay at the YC?

I don't have you on the list.

::yes::

I got BC water view for the 7th - 11th. I already have standard view at BC for less through a TA, but picked up the water view so I can just go in and modify if CL pops up at BC or YC.

I'll put your dates on the roster.

:thumbsup2

Anyone at BC right now and can tell me what Stormalong Bay hours are currently? Heading down in mid-August. Thanks so much!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I have an SAB addict friend arriving today so I'll post the current hours soon.

:fish:

Hey all! We're a few weeks out from our trip and had a couple of questions....

1. I know the YC Ale & Compass, before the big renovation, had steel cut oatmeal. I don't know if the BC Marketplace has it. I'll see if we can have someone peek over there this week. Yes on the microwave in the Marketplace AND even better, you can also request one from housekeeping for your room. If available, it is provided free of charge.

2. No idea what they are doing and we have heard zero reports of any disruptions. I'll see if my friend can provide any intel.

November 23-27. Sounds like December may be harder to come by. Good luck!!

You're cheating on us, right? Trip is at another resort? ;)

We are here now for the last night of our trip. We had 4 nights booked at BWI and 4 at BLT, but ended up needing to add a night to our trip late in the planning phase. The kids asked for Beach Club so that’s what I booked. We ended up getting upgraded to club level! We have a beautiful garden view room that looks like it will have a nice view of Epcot fireworks. This is our first time ever doing club level and we are loving it. We have the Star Wars dessert party booked tonight and the kids are asking to skip it to spend more time at the resort now.
