Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Just back from a quick split stay 7/18-7/22 BC/YC. First two nights at BC in room 4547, water view with daybed and full balcony.

YC room 3077 water view, day bed, shower only.

This is a weak water view in my opinion. It’s more green than anything.
The crowds didn’t seem as dense as the did mid June. We were pleasantly surprised! I think we are back to the YC as our favorite. The beds seem larger and nicer and we don’t miss the carpet.
I think we might try to pull a trip off this fall. :teeth:
I see that many people could be disappointed with the YC water view. However, I still prefer it over the BC SAB view.

ETA Looking again I realize that may not be SAB. We always YC and have never stayed at BC, so I am not as familiar with the geography;)

That is a strong water view IMHO. Atwater View could simply be a slice of a pool or canal
I guess we've been spoiled in the past. hahahah. The two YC pics are taken at an angle. Standing in the room looking straight ahead a corner of the lake is visible. That view is certainly better than the one of my laundry from the trip. :p

It’s hard to go back for sure, lol! And that was me 100%, don’t need it but definitely wanted it... On trips when we don’t do it we try to do a “club level” in the room, we’ll get groceries with wine and nicer snacks than usual (all the junk food we usually say no to) to still have that splurge feel :D

We’ve never stayed CL, so we do the same thing. I order Fiji water bottles, chocolates from Bissingers or Godiva to put on the kids pillows each night and a splurge my kids love are cookies we have specially made by a local baker that are almost too pretty to eat! Gets us excited and we eat one each night until they run out 😂😂😂😂419248

We bring a favorite boxed red wine. I know, boxed red wine sounds cheap but this one is very good and comes from Tuscany :) Anyway we bring it with us every trip...but maybe we'll bring some yummy cheese and artisanal crackers. What other special snacks do you bring?
Champagne splits! Snacks are generally just a pre-packaged plethora of junk food we want buy but pass at home- Milano’s, Chex Mix, Goldfish (yes, I’ve been known to drink booze while eating goldfish #AdultingIsHard —as you can see I’m not about to judge your boxed wine :flower1: ). When we drove to Disneyland we baked rice crispy treats with chocolate chips & pecans (a fam fave, they lasted 1 day rofl) but that one is out when we fly to FL.

Those cookies! They are so beautiful, but I could totally eat them :D

We just modified our late summer trip to stay at Beach Club Villas (on cash) Aug 27-Sept 1 and Sept 1 for one night at Yacht Club. We were originally staying at Pop for the sole purpose of having quick access to SWGE and F&W via the Skyliner. Our new plans are a little more expensive but I'm so excited to be able to walk to both parks if need be....and it's our first time staying at BC/YC. Now I'm going to go back and read this thread!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

They added quite a few USB charge points to the BC rooms. I think I counted 16 of them, but I could be wrong. There were at least two one each nightstand, more on the desk, and then they had them on each side of the credenza, under the television.

There are definitely a lot! Big improvement from prior to the renovation!

::yes::

Little irked today by the reservation system as I tried to take advantage of the holiday promo for a resort discount but due what I have experienced as a Disney reservation and website technical problems many times, by the time I got through the discount was unavailable.
This was after 4 hours on hold then getting hung up on.
Then continual busy signal.
Then getting through and being told system was down.
And then lastly getting through, system available but discount not available.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Not sure what good it would do to complain but would have saved a significant amount of money since I have a 5 might stay at AKL followed by a 7 night stay at BC in December.
Was going to upgrade dining plan with some of the savings but no may not be able to.
They really need to get their systems in order to be ready for the days when they release promos and new tickets!

Sorry for your frustration. I am constantly amazed that a hugely successful company like Disney has such an abysmal tech division!

:sad2:

We are staying at the Beach Club April 16 - 23, 2020! We're very excited, staying in a DVC villa 2BR and running the Star Wars races! Kids are running the 1 miler and I'm running my first multi-race challenge, the rival run challenge (10K + half)! We've never stayed in the Epcot-area resorts (prior stays: Dixie Landings right before my freshman year of college, one of the All-Stars in college, and with the family, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, and then the Poly - a lifelong dream as we used to go to Disney back when I was kid). We figured the kids (will be 11 and 9 when we go) will be more interested in Epcot/World Showcase and the overall Epcot/DHS experience, so we're excited!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

This is a great resort for 'tweens! My boys loved their stays at those ages.

:cheer2:

So excited for our split stay over Christmas. 12/19-23 at wilderness lodge and now 12/23-12/28 at yacht club. We have never stayed at either. Was originally at beach club but with the room only discount, switched to yacht and upgraded view while still saving a few hundred. FYI there was availability at both resorts with room only rate for those dates.

:weclcome: back!

Two awesome resorts for a holiday trip!

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

Does the Yacht Club club have a blu-ray player or just a DVD?

:welcome: to the thread!

Do you h ave an upcoming trip?

As Wood_Nymph indicated, the rooms do not have DVD or blu-ray players.

:goodvibes

I was able to upgrade from POFQ to Yacht Club December 12 - 15th with an AP discount. There is definitely some availability.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list.

:dogdance:

I've gotta say, the amount of information and detail in this thread is awesome! We will be staying at BC in a standard room from 11/30-12/6. This is our first Deluxe stay so the excitement level is pretty high.

What is the coffee pot situation like? It looks like some rooms might have Keurigs?

I've not stayed at the BC, but the YC has Keurigs. Someone with BC experience will chime in. You'll love the resort!

What a great idea! We're going next summer for our daughter's Sweet 16. I thought about doing one of the Disney Celebrations, but I think ordering specialty cookies at home and setting it up for her in our room will be just as exciting for her.

Coming in late to BC so I booked a late Cape May for 9:55 am. Does that restaurant usually run behind? I noticed our last Yacht Club stay guests hanging out at entrance like they were running late. Just curious if anyone had a wait lately?
Also any room requests for Garden View BC

I know that Cape May usually runs late for dinner but you are at the tail end of breakfast so it might not be too bad for you.

I think the best garden view is a view of the volleyball court. It would give you a sideways view of the lake

Trust me, it’s not just WDW - I work for a large, successful company and our IT team is...well...underwhelming. And talking to others in my industry it seems to be a reoccurring theme with the IT/Tech Teams. It’s certainly complicated things that often times doesn’t have the appropriate resources given their importance to every day work and employee/ customer relationships in the 21st century.

I have posted a couple of questions here but didnt know you guys were keeping track of upcoming trips too! :) We are staying for the first time at BC (and any deluxe resort for that matter) in a little over 3 weeks (8/16-8/24) and cannot be more excited!! Little man will be 16 months this trip and both sets of grandparetns are coming along for the first time so a bit scary but very exciting!

3 more quick questions:

-Do all first floor rooms have some sort of patio or is that only for ones with certain view types?
-I know that BC and YC share their buses to MK, AK, etc. correct? But do they also share with BW or is it only BC/YC?
-Does the sink/vanity area have a door that closes it off from the rest of the room? We used that area as a pseudo bedroom for our son's pack and play last trip at POFQ (it had a curtain actually, not a sliding door) and would like to be able to seperate him a bit this time as well if we want to stay up a little bit after him and watch TV or hang out on our patio/balcony (if we are lucky enough to snag one).

Cheers!!

I'll do my best to answer, others with more experience can correct if needed.

1. All first floor rooms should have a patio, I haven't read of any exceptions and if there are they are few.
2.Yes, the YC/BC share busses, and they stop at the YC first. They don't typically share with the BWI except possibly at slower times.
3. There is no dividing wall or curtain between the sink area and the room at the BC. There is, of course, a door separating the tub/toilet area from the sink area, but nothing else. The YC has a barn door that separates the sink from the rest of the room.

For those of you searching for a fall AP rate at YC, I found one yesterday! However wanted to note that YC did NOT show up in the list of available resorts when I did a general search with my dates, but DID show up when I searched by YC directly. So may be worth double checking!
Can you share what dates you were successful in obtaining an AP rate? We're early December and it certainly seems like the resort is totally sold out during our visit. Of course I'll keep checking but I'm not feeling optimistic.

We have a trip booked for December 4th to 9th and there haven’t been any Disney discounts for those dates. I checked a conference schedule and there will be one at the Yacht Club from December 8th to 12th. The Epcot resorts are always popular in the fall and the discounts are usually hard to find.
