Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Here now...We checked into YC yesterday for an 8 night stay. Within 2 hours I was saying to my husband, “Uh oh... our Disney World trips just got a lot more expensive because we’re always going to have to stay here now.” He agreed. We are completely blown away by this resort and the whole Epcot resort area. It’s beautiful, quiet, amazing, and we cannot get over the fact that we can walk to two parks!!

It happened to us too ;) we have no desire to stay anywhere else now. Same holds true staying Club Level we tried it and now::yes:::cool:

Hi friends!!!

Sorry I have been MIA for the past few days. Mark and I were celebrating our 33rd anniversary with a stay at a nearby beach.

This was our incredible view from our room-

I'll catch up in the next few days, but for now,

:welcome: to our new posters here.
Happy Anniversary!

Which is why we probably wont ever stay club level. A few months ago we had a late MCO arrival and stayed at WL for that first night. We arrived at midnight and were put in a deluxe room with access. Made the most of it the next morning but sure could have gotten used to its benefits!

Love the pics of the characters at the pool!! That is so amazing!!!! Silly question, but it’s been years since I wore a swimsuit- I’ve lost 70 pounds this past year (90 since my highest) and still have 15 to go to final goal, but I plan on wearing long swim shorts (almost to knee) and tankini top.. are there any rules on what you can wear going down slides or using pools? The shorts are tight swim material...I’m just too self-conscious about my fleshy legs after weight loss...thanks!!!

Congratulations on your weight loss success!!!

:cheer2:

I believe you should be fine. Sometimes members of our family will wear tshirts for swim shirts and on at least one occasion, I wore shorts into the pool at Stormalong Bay. You can read all about it here from my 2013 trip report:

We went last August. The trip before hat one I tried to get my dh to do a split between there and the Poly but nope. He just wouldn’t budge. I finally convinced him and told him the BC would be cheaper. He said Ok.

Well initially he didn’t like it since I had spoiled him with all our trips at the Poly. When we moved to the Poly, he tried to swim and said...we should of just stayed at the BC.

The Poly will always be home and my first love and I will do a split there again but the BC...can’t beat the pool! It’s so nice to swim mid day and well swim!

We are currently booked in a deluxe room at BC for March 2020. We are REALLY hoping for a full sized balcony - what can we do to increase our chances? Are there other room types that would be more likely to have one?

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Here are the details we have about the 6 Deluxe rooms at the Beach Club. Definitely call Disney Central Reservations, or have your travel agent make a request for a deluxe room with a full balcony. Since there are only 6, you could add the room numbers for more clarification "Full balcony please, room 2557, 4557 or 3691, for example. You could add 1557 if a room on the ground floor with a patio is acceptable:

Detailed balcony information on Deluxe Rooms from guests who have stayed there and reported back:

There are six Deluxe rooms at BC. They are no longer have club level booking status.

1557 has a patio and lots of windows.
2557 and 4557 have extra large balconies.
3557 has the standing room only balcony.

3691 has both a standing room balcony and a full balcony
4681 has a standing room only balcony.

So 3 of the 6 have full balconies, 1 has a patio, and 2 have standing room only balconies.

Here are a couple of threads about Deluxe Rooms:

We just booked our first WDW vacation since 2015, and have realized that our family of 5 can no longer book YC CL. Our very favorite WDW memories are of staying at the CL there, and I'm sad that we won't get to enjoy it as a family any more. If the rooms have daybeds, I wonder why they made this change? Economics?

I realize that this is possibly the first-worldiest of first-world problems (after all, we're "settling" for the Poly), but I figure if anyone will commiserate, it'll be y'all on this thread.

:welcome: back to the thread, but sorry that you are not able to book the room you want :(

We have not been told why the change was made, but safe to assume $$$ is at play. If these rooms are fully booked at most times, then you might as well restrict it to just 4 people so you are providing services to potentially 1 less person.

Enjoy your stay at the Poly!

I also just wanted to thank Dee?

Thanks for the kind words. We are a great group of friendly visitors here. I appreciate everyone who contributes to making this thread an awesome resource to new, and veteran Yacht & Beach guests.

We’re planning an April 2020 stay, and are looking to branch out from our beloved WL with a stay at YC. We’re mainly concerned about two things:
  1. The new dog policy; and
  2. The lack of a comprehensive QS location.
I think #2 is really our primary topic of concern... I know that there are a ton of places dotted around Crescent Lake where QS can be had, from the pizza window on the Boardwalk, to the BC Marketplace, to Hurricane Hanna’s, to (of course) the many and various Epcot QS options. However, it seems that most require one to go outside, and travel a decent distance (again, this is coming from someone who is accustomed to WL where the Roaring Fork is just an elevator ride away). And because of the “little bit here, little bit there” nature of it all, I can easily envision having to make three different stops for three different people... drag. I’m honestly surprised that YC/BC would be designed with such a glaring omission.

Thoughts/insights?

:welcome:

Let us know if you end up booking a trip here.

Again, Disney doesn't really give us the reasoning behind their layout decisions, but my money is on $$$ reasons. There is speculation that the mouse wants to encourage guests staying at EPCOT resorts to dine at the resort restaurants or EPCOT instead of grabbing a quick service meal.

Personally, my family loves the counter service places at EPCOT, so we plan a lot of our meals there. Sometimes we even "take-out" and bring back something to our room.

That being said, there are options available at BC Marketplace, the Marketplace at Ale & Compass and Hurricane Hanna's for someone looking for a quick meal or snack.

27 days!!!!!! Question for all you recent visitors.....how soon have you been able to get into your rooms, specifically the BCV studios? The past couple of times we've stayed there, we weren't able to get into our room until well past 5:00. Might be bad luck, but we have reservations at Homecoming at 4:50 and I would like to be able to get ready in my room rather than the showers near SAB. Thoughts?

I have forgotten to request to be added to the roll call! Really looking forward to our first stay!

The Beach Club Villas are on a different check in schedule than the regular resort. The check in time for the villas building is 4pm. I hope you get lucky for your upcoming trip and get into your room earlier than that, but it can't be predicted.

I'm a newbie at BC/YC/BCV but I think if you dont have room requests your chances of getting into your room are better than if you do? You could always ask upon check in if any rooms are available! I just changed our first day itinerary. At first we were going to go to MK around 2pm but now we are hanging at the resort. We dont have to "clean up" until our 7pm Cape May ADR and THEN we will head to MK afterwards (have an 8:30 pm 7D GP). Now I just have to remember to pack our suits in the carry on along with something to cover up with. No one needs to see me traipsing through the lobby in my swim suit :D

BCV is small and always fully booked. It's not like they have empty rooms so if they planned to put you room # 1 and you didn't make any requests, they can put you in room # 2 if room # 1 is not ready when you get there. As Wood Nymph says, you might get lucky, but don't count on it.

We have stayed many times at BCV and we typically have our room ready by 1:00 p.m. In May our room was ready prior to arrival although our flight had been delayed several hours (mechanical issues) and we didn't arrive until 2:00 p.m. or so.

The link he posted might be for the Canadian DME site. Here is what I get:

https://secure.reservations.disney.go.com/ibcwdw/en_US/dme/dmeform

I added both to Page 1, Post 14 but when I click on the one posted with the CA in the address, it takes me to the US site. Maybe it recognizes where the computer being used is from. IDK.

Has anyone from the UK used the online DME registration? What have you used for a link?

As others said, YC is usually last for DME, but we typically will just get off at the first Epcot area hotel and walk to our hotel from there. You do not have to get off at the YC.

:welcome: to posting on this thread!

Thanks for your input.

:thumbsup2

Hi and thank you in advance. I noticed Yacht Club pics have hard wood floors but Beach Club has carpet. Are the Beach Club pics old and there is hardwood floors now?

:welcome:

As others have stated, Beach Club does indeed have carpets in the rooms and the Yacht Club installed a wood-type flooring during the recent remodel.

Are you considering the resort for an upcoming stay?

:goodvibes

Coming home to BCV Jan 1-5 after 2 nights at AoA :cool1:

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:dogdance:
EEEP just upgraded to water view at YC for only $100 in total for our entire 9 night stay thanks to the Fall offer!! Wooohoo!

That's awesome!

I'll adjust your room view designation to the list.

:woohoo:

There is a line, directly below where the number of adults and children is entered. Guests living outside the U.S., PR and Canada need to check the box next to this line.

I live outside the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada.

BCV veterans here and we have gotten our rooms as late as 5 but for the past several years, we’ve gotten room ready text by noon and as early as 10:30 am. YMMV and I wouldn’t count on an early time but it does happen. Enjoy your trip!!

Anyone have experience snagging AP rates at YC? I've got a garden view room booked for now for my mid-Nov trip but would love to do YC CL if I can get it at an AP rate. Nothing opened up yet so I'm wondering if sometimes people have had success getting AP rates closer in to your travel dates?
