Contemporary has not. The yellow Mickey pillows were removed about a year ago. No more "Disney" in those rooms now. There was...in my head...
I don't know if Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary have been refurbished recently?
While I enjoy BC, this is the only Disney element in the sleeping area of the room post refurb.Beach Club - I'm not sure if I have correct after picture? I don't know what it looks like now. Regardless, these rooms look the same to me, as in I don't really get a beachy vibe from either, so I'll call it a draw.

And I think the updated room is a massive step down from the original look. Just awful.Challenge accepted. I've already posted CSR, PoP and POFQ, I concluded they lost no theming.
Yacht Club (I included two pictures of latest refurb because I think the nautical details are even better after the refurb and I couldn't find one picture that captured all)

I prefer for the rooms not to be abundantly Disney themed. I'm fine with them having the feel of the resort to a degree, but after a full day of full on Disney everywhere, I find the less themed rooms to have a way of calming and relaxing me after the rush of a day of Disney fun.
It's hard to go to sleep (for me) if my mind is still in "Woooohooooooo!!!!! DISNEY!!!!!!!!" mode. So the plainer rooms whisper "Chill woman, you need some rest for tomorrow."

Hopefully it will be better then it was in the past, which I am doubting. I remember the times they did not have the boxes and you could store stuff under the bed, trust me, you would not have even put your dirty socks under there. These newer beds are higher and should make it easier to clean under, BUT you have to have someone that actually washes them, let alone sweep or vacuum them. Posts are already starting to pop up on how dirty the new floors are
Oh geez. There is zero chance I'm ever vacationing with my swiffer. Just no. Especially at Disney prices. Just no no no.We stayed at Pop for two weeks this past summer. We opted out of housekeeping, so we bought our mini wet/dry swiffer. It was perfect.
I see 2 issues. First the Disney presence. I'm OK if it's subtle. I like more rather than less, but can be open on that. Then there's the overall comfort and design. I truly hate the bare floors and bare beds. Those look like hospital rooms to me.Interesting, I think the carpet and curtains in the old Yacht Club room were hideous.
BLT looks nice, but again, as in all the hotel room pictures I've posted, I don't see any huge amount of Disney in the room, just a bed runner! All the rooms are appropriately themed to the type of hotel (Yacht, Boardwalk, Pop, etc.).
Thanks for playing all!
I like some of the new rooms better. I don't mind Coronado or Polynesian looking more modern...like a hotel you would stay at in those areas of the world.
For the Grand or the Boardwalk (maybe Beach and Yacht Club as well), while I appreciate the cleaner look and I generally don't like wallpaper, I think that those resorts are supposed to represent a certain time in history. I don't think the new rooms keep that them enough.

What's a girl to do? Oh, that's right..... head west! For design, color, subtle Disney touches..... and carpet!

And when they do I'll stop staying there. Tons of cheaper beautiful rooms within walking distance on the Harbor Blvd. side. I'll pay more to be onsite, but only if I like the room. That's a nice room! But...they may change it!
