I love the Mickeys in the carpet, and Disneyland castle graphic above the beds. Reminds me of better days.

What is graphic of the castle made out of? To me, it’s stunning

Yeah, the Boardwalk isn't too bad. I really like a lot of the rooms.
GF is supposed to be Victorian. Art Deco is a little late. I mean, I think it is a nice room, but it could be Portofino Bay or Beach Club or a number of other resorts.

It really is stunning. The graphic is etched wood I believe. And fireworks light up when you turn the switch on. There's also a large framed photo of Walt walking through Sleeping Beauty Castle.

I don’t stay on the inn side st the Boardwalk, but I am a big fan of the villa side, own there. Just love have drawers and lots of large cabinets in the bathroom, even in the studios. I like this design so much more than the vanities that are appearing that are totally wide open at the bottom. Those have a generic feel. And luckily the vibe in the lobby and the Belle vue lounge are still right on target for the era they depict. Miss the teacup lamp. The wall mounted light fixtures are more economical I guess but somehow don’t feel deluxe to me.

Having started my Disney journey at DL courtesy of my dear departed dad circa 1962, DL will always have a place in my heart.

Thanks for sharing that great photo.

Different resort... I wonder what AK rooms will look like when “lighten up” those units. I assume no more animal skin patterned carpet. Guess they better remove the interior doors too, not nearly generic enough. Pocket doors, anyone? Anyone?

    Let's stay glass half full!

Perhaps we will all like them, or perhaps those who don't find something else they like, be it on or off-site. :)

Regardless of the carpet and bed coverings you can’t beat the lake view river and lazy river at many of resorts in the area. Have had great ones at Bonnet creek not to mention some crazy good deals.

I priorize the quality of the mattress over the color of the coverings. Really good over at swan/Dolphin my last few stays. Trying out more in 2019.

You did see the big MICKEY picture above the bed right? And when you can look out your window and see the castle, not much more theming Is needed lol.

I thought it was a cat!

I like the art in PoP the best.

Yes, that castle does not need much else.

That is a really well done room. I wonder what year they were last remodeled?

Having spent the better part of the last 10 days with mom during her stays in 2 hospitals and currently in a nursing home, I can agree with bare floors looking like a hospital room. Not really a great choice for flooring on nursing home due to the slipperiness of the floors for people with a risk of falling. I think they are planning to switch to carpet in the nursing home rooms, to reduce falls.

Definitely. Just look at what the Grand Californian was recently refurbished to...

I’m with mom2rtk - I REALLY dislike the new rooms for the most part. Way too much white and beige for me. Those beds, ugh! I get what they’re going for, but a little splash of color would be nice. I’m ok without the old bedspreads, but the runners at least colored and themed the rooms a bit. The subtleties of the drapes and shower curtain just aren’t enough for me. I want to be able to distinguish which resort I’m at!

When I look at the pictures of Grand Floridian vs Boardwalk and Yacht Club vs Beach Club in their pre-refurbishment state, I think they are virtually indistinguishable from each other.

At least now after the refurbs these rooms look different from each other. And again, still on theme with each resort they are representing.

I like how the BWV studios look distinct from the photos of the BWI rooms I have seen. BWI rooms may be a bit more upscale but we make great use of the kitchenette or kitchen in the villas daily. And staying at BWV isn’t quite slumming it.

I got my $130 credit. It was a quick swiff every couple of days. I didn't mind at all. :)
