Poolrat and GoofyFan's Great Adventure- Wilderness in August edition- 8/15 Last day REALLY !!!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get over here. An insane work schedule is right. I am in a lull right now until schools starts up again and have to deal with losing a few more folks and under current conditions being so ugly we may lose a few more full time to poor upper management as well. I will see if I can even hang in there.

In any event I NEED to finish this one up and Maybe just maybe a short brief quick catch up on the trips since then. ( there have been many)

Just making sure Marv hadn't picked on me and I missed it !!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh he makes sure you know when you are being picked on....

Like I ever keep my "picking on Rosie" a secret??? :confused3 :rolleyes1

SEE????

Oh, I just realized I never told you I was all caught up!!

I've never seen the EWP so I'll definitely try to catch it on my upcoming trip.

I love your bathroom photos!!! Really gives this TR a good PoV feel.

You had such good mojo with the rain!!! I'll have to look into downloading that app for my trip.

:welcome: to our TR Yuki! Great to have you aboard! :dogdance:

Thanks Marv for Welcoming Yuki- Yuki it is sure great to have you here. I use weatherbug almost exclusively and on my android it is fabulous. My work phone is an iphone and the app is not as great there. :crazy2:

You can pick your nose and you can pick your friends. ......... :rolleyes1

I'm not sure I do a good job of either :p :headache:

Oh Great .....

Love ya, Marv. :)

No that is one thing I agree with, you pick on me anywhere and everywhere:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Do you have a "PICK ture of that:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Now Liesa you do a fine job of both:rotfl2:

Yes Marv great update , and you answered a question, you have NOT yet seen the new Soarin' As for the Hidden Mickeys I still can't see them!!:confused3:rotfl2:

No New Soarin' for either of us. Actually a break in the Disney trips from November 15 to this Oct trip coming up. :scared1:

I do think we are ready to get back though. Lots of getting back to planning mode done today.

I liked your Maelstrom documentation! I am so sad that I never got to ride it after I had been to Norway. I think it would have made so much more sense to me now....

And I obviously have really bad eyes: I have no clue where there is a hidden Mickey on the picture that I quoted... My father used to say I have tomatoes in front of my eyes. I guess he was right after all.

Despite it being an official HM even I needed help looking for it and still don't have a clear Mickey...

I agree with al your comments , and I too must have tomatoes in front of my eyes !!!:rotfl2:

Me too Rosie

Look just to the left of the clip on her clipboard. Ignore the "darker" folds in her shirt, that makes it look a little like a rabbit........

Once you spot it, go back to the bigger picture and it actually stands out more there, once you know where to look.

Oh we tried to find it :rolleyes1

Is it on her arm or her white shirt???

Shirt but hard to figure out.

White shirt.........right beside the clip..........the clipboard actually cuts off the lower right side of Mickey's head

Uh huh Sure :rolleyes1

My ticker says 3 months, 1 week and 6 days. No pressure or anything to finish up here... :rolleyes1

Trying to get back on it and wrap this puppy up.

Sign #152 that you might get to go to Disney more than the average person..

Yup and I have a picture - We miss Him and this was the last time we saw him.

This makes me incredibly sad. Although no formal announcement by Disney has been made, this is what I found:

"
The Kuka robot arm simulator sponsored by Raytheon is no longer listed on the Epcot guide map, and the Sum of All Thrills website indicates that ride replays can be accessed until June 30 2016.

The simulator allows guests to create a thrill ride and take it for a spin on the end of a robotic arm. The attraction is low capacity, but has been the main draw to Innoventions East since it opened in late 2009.

Like all Innoventions exhibits, corporate sponsorship is key to their existence, and most are limited time agreements.

Innoventions West closed completely in April 2015, and much of Innovations East is now closed. Only Storm Struck and the recently opened Colortopia would remain if Sum of All Thrills was to close."

I could cry having never gotten to do this.

I really want to know what the plans are for this area. Colortopia was just added so I am wondering what is really going on.

Awww, cute threesome. 2 Goofys and a Princess. :D

:thanks:

Agreed!!! Every 3-5 years is a good timeframe for a change up!

I agree.

Well, thank Goodness! Now you could go to the most expensive dumpshop on property and try out some Laila!
::yes::

Quite possibly the best news I've had all day. I guess I knew this, but now it's crunch time in figuring all of this out.

Aren't you funny, Rosie.

Of course I do. Hidden in deep vaults buried forever. Only to be found when I run for President.

It is getting to be crunch time. I am sure we will have plenty of picture to show how much fun we CAN have.

I thought you were going for a "Pat = Goofy" joke, but you dodged that one. :duck: Smart man.

I'm skeptical that that's really an intended Hidden Mickey. I think people saw "something" there and claimed it to be one.

He knows how to dodge ..... :duck: As for the HM see below.

That was one that was in the official Hidden Mickey book. Found it the first time I rode Maelstrom after getting a book (version 3 maybe?)

Yup it is there- Can't see it but it is there....

I know that at Epcot specifically they did add rather obscured hidden Mickeys. I found that it looks more like a hidden Mickey in the quote in Glen's post because the picture is smaller there, so I think it is a question of how you look at it. And possibly the picture distorts the contrast a little which makes it less obvious. Anyway, it has now been destroyed and we will never find out... :sad1:

True all we have are our pictures. :goodvibes

That still doesn't look like Mickey head to me!!!

I know Rosie - I am having a hard time too.

Hopefully soon an update from me.

Figures the replies made the top of the page and it did not tell me a new page was there until 2 posts in.....

Friday Aug 15th

Our last full day was upon us. Now we had been dodging rain storms all week. Usually you would be pretty safe in the morning. Not this morning.

You can see the rain drops on the light.

We made our way to the bus stop and while it still drizzled we waited under cover

US 8 RAIN 0

Soon we had a bus to our destination. My time stamps say we were picked up at 8:39 am and got off at EPCOT at 9:09. Not sure what took us so long to get to EPCOT.

For whatever reason we get dropped off at the FURTHEST stop from the entrance. Yeesh.

We make our way in and now it is just after 9- 9:15 to be exact. We see our buddy Elton. In fact I don’t think we have seen him since.

I hate the picture but here it is…

Dark clouds looming but it was not raining.

Our first stop was here. Maybe we hit TT first but maybe we just went here,

A reflection of the short lived Habit heroes.

After we built and rode our coaster we hit

I am guessing the rain had me put my hair up. It is not working with this dress.

Next up was Soarin’

We had our FP+ so we walked right in.

Not the best seat this time – Section A and Row…

After Soarin’ we headed for

Closest I have gotten to seeing what is on that screen

After we were done and our future was up on the big screen…

It was just after 11, time to head to future world.

Our first stop was Mexico but even though we were close to the ditch we did not fall in this time.

WAHHHOOOTY!

Trying to get back on it and wrap this puppy up.

YAY!!! (And that's good because there'll be plenty to write about in October/November and beyond...)

Yup and I have a picture - We miss Him and this was the last time we saw him.

AWwww, too bad!

I really want to know what the plans are for this area. Colortopia was just added so I am wondering what is really going on.

Mismanagement...?

Glad to see you trying to finish the report.

Crazy that you were able to dodge the rain again, we weren't so lucky on our last trip there.

Cute Character pics

We saw the sign and laughed.

Actually my DH got drenched on this when we were on it in 2014! it was just before it closed (I think we were on it on 9/26 and it closed on 10/5 maybe?). We were in the front row and he was on the right and the water just gushed right over the front right section of the boat as we went down the forward hill, right onto where he was sitting, his shorts and right leg/foot were soaked! We couldn't believe it, my dad and I had been on this ride countless times and never got more than a mist or light spray, and here my newbie DH is drenched.

We thought maybe they made sure the track/tanks were extra full to let the ride go "out with a splash", LOL

THere will be plenty of time to make up for this...

What IS that?!

US 9 RAIN 0

Impressive! I'd travel with you anytime!

What IS that?!
It is called the Croque Glace, sort of an ice cream sandwich where they put a scoop of your choice in brioche, and use a press to heat the brioche and seal the edges. Seems like they add something else inside also (looks like it in the picture). Quite tasty!

I hate that this report has lingered so long. Life just got busy.

I have been caught in the rain many times, at the AK entrance trying to get to the car only to be dripping by the time I got there, on the boat dock at WL with lots of lightning near by and nowhere to take cover, at MK between the ferry and busses and up to my ankles in water, At EPCOT between future world and LeCellier, to name a few times. So with technology and a keener sense of weather patterns I now keep score. :) I figure if I can keep out of a downpour and being soaked without donning a poncho, it is a win. Weatherbug is my friend.

We may have gotten a bit wet too. At least we were warned.:rotfl2:

I will be ready !!!!! :drinking1

What he said!!!! :goodvibes You can add chocolate or raspberry sauce. A french ice cream sandwich.

Impressive! I'd travel with you anytime!

That's my super power, a pool person with the ability to stay dry. :rotfl2:

Ugh. That sounds like no fun whatsoever.

You guys are amazing.

For whatever reason we get dropped off at the FURTHEST stop from the entrance. Yeesh.

Ugh. Don't you hate it when that happens? Good thing you can't be touched by raindrops.

Next up was Soarin’

65 minutes seems short for that one.

After we were done and our future was up on the big screen…

A swimming-based future. Seems appropriate.

A hidden Mickey

Nice work!

A wonderful troll where I may or may not have taken a inappropriate picture and NO I am not going to post it.

But you can't leave us hanging like that!

This was about 2pm. We got back in time to beat the rain once again so

US 9 RAIN 0

Did you guys get an Express Rain pass?

I've been off the Dis for a while. We went to Disney for Easter 2015 for middle child's wedding and life just got in the way. I've enjoyed getting caught up. I'm very impressed with your ability to avoid the rain. Lots of great pictures and fun.

:welcome: Vanessa! Great to see you again. Rain avoided..........but lots of water under the bridge!

Ugh. That sounds like no fun whatsoever.

Nope and as of yesterday we lost another one. :sad2: Sadly leadership is thinking it is the employees issue. I try to explain the problem and I am being negative. I keep hearing those who left didn't have the professional maturity or experience to handle things but were chosen to be in a position because of those qualities. No one is seeing that the current working conditions and leadership is not a supportive environment that only takes from the employee and does not provide any positive encouragement or opportunities for growth and advancement. There is one more that is in my center now that is looking elsewhere for employment and we will lose her. She is good but not being given ANY opportunity to be recognized for it and keeps getting criticism for voicing concerns and suggestions to make things better. Again citing professional maturity when voicing a little frustration at communication and asking for clarity.
Right now I am out of the line of fire but it does not make me feel good that people are leaving around me, some without other employment simply to get out. However since I have worked with both these women, they are not a subordinates anymore, it was hinted that my "mentoring" and relationship with them is part of them quitting or being so vocal. :faint: Um nope under me they were very happy. If nothing I have been the one talking them off the ledge for months now when they are beside themselves and those same ladies have criticized me for not taking action when I tell them to hold on and wait and explain a bigger picture to them instead of knee jerking.... Yeesh.

Sorry guys- Just feeling like everything is being turned upside down.

You guys are amazing.
:thanks:

Ugh. Don't you hate it when that happens? Good thing you can't be touched by raindrops.

That and a covered walkway helps. EPCOT always leaves me with a very high step count at the end of the day. :rolleyes1

65 minutes seems short for that one.

I have not seen if the 3rd screen is making a difference.

A swimming-based future. Seems appropriate.

:fish:

It was either that or the typical me snow skiing and breaking my arm........... :scared:

Yeah we need to figure out how to change our future......

Nice work!

:earsgirl::mickeyjum:goofy:

But you can't leave us hanging like that!

Trust me........you'll thank her! :rolleyes1

Yup it would get me banned for sure. That and my morocco pictures. :ssst: Just use your imagination with this statue and where someone might need to be standing .........

I'm feeling your on the long walk from drop off. It seems like no matter where we stay we always have the longest walk. :headache: Of course the drinks you had in Mexico helped to pass your time. You really did have the perfect location. Your sunset photos are just beautiful and you got some great Illumination pics too. Perfect ending to the night with great bus Karma.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm hoping to spend more time on the boards. I've even started my own report too.

Yeah we need to figure out how to change our future......
Oh? I mean, yeah we do........

Yup it would get me banned for sure. That and my morocco pictures. :ssst: Just use your imagination with this statue and where someone might need to be standing .........
:sad2:

We watched as day turned into night.
It was a beautiful evening...........and you captured some great pictures of it! :goodvibes

Time to linger and take in the atmosphere.
Final night lingering at Epcot......... a tradition that's a little easier to do when you can wander out at the IG! :thumbsup2

Our trip may be done but we managed to have some fun the next morning.
:ssst: :scratchin Oh yes, fun AND adventure! ::yes::

I will be ready !!!!! :drinking1

And I will be waiting!

You can add chocolate or raspberry sauce. A french ice cream sandwich

Hmmm.... this is quite intriguing!

That's my super power, a pool person with the ability to stay dry. :rotfl2:

Disney provides plenty of places to keep you dry... which also happened to have plenty of opportunities to spend a lot of money.

This was about 8pm and well we just stayed. Instead of trying to find another spot to watch IllumiNations, we figured we had a great spot and stayed. We were approached by quite a few asking if we were staying and even made sure we continued to have either a drink or food to s l o w l y consume.

This is sick strats, you guys!

Just gorgeous!!
