I have a question about FP+ that hopefully someone can answer! I just customized our MB's but I am not too interested in using FP+. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I select times for FP+ I will NOT be able to use the regular print out FP in the parks for any rides right? It says on MDE that if I have a paperless ticket ( MB) then I will not be able to use the regular FP, which is confusing me. Can I use FP+ for the allotted rides (however many that is??) and then use regular FP's for other rides?

Things always subject to change but the general word is that the FP+ system and FP - system don't talk to each other right now so no way one would know what the other is doing. Many people are using both without any problem.

Interestingly, I had an argument with someone who insisted that the 30 days was not real, and you still had down to 5 days to customize...

Well you are meant to be able to customise until 5 days out, but only for resort pickup, you can't have them shipped that close. No idea if it still works that way though.

[Edit: Darn, forgot my own rule of reading right to the end of a thread before replying! :) ]

No one can give you an exact answer to this. The issue is what regular FP machines don't read Magic Bands, they can only read a paper ticket. That's why it says you can't have access to both systems. That being said currently when you check into your resort, you are given a KTTW card just in case you have an issue with your Magic Bands. Currently people have been able to "double dip" meaning they can use the KTTW card to use regular FP and use their Magic Band to access their prebooked FP+ choices. There have been reports that AK has already stopped this. When you put in your KTTW card, the regular FP machines have been coming up as invalid. No idea if this is always true, or when this will spread to the other parks.

We are planning on double dipping when we arrive October 5th. Looking forward to trying it out.

Hey everyone! I was able to set up my FP+ selections for November. However, I can't set up any FP+ for one linked member of our party because it says this person is not eligible for My Magic +. It is my FIL and he has a room booked with my MIL and I can get FP+ for her. Any ideas?

I believe it's 30 days if you want them sent to you...5 days if you pick them up at check-in.

For shipping, it's supposed to be 10 days, according to the early info and what the TAs were apparently told more recently...that's what the argument was about...everyone lately has said they had until 30 days...

I'm wondered if anyone who has planned/tested FP+ has a similar 'touring' situation to ours. If so, I'd love some ideas for how to make this work for us! Our travel party will have two 'thrill' riders and two non-thrill riders. In the past, the two riders have used FP- to ride while the other two shopped. They were able to use the two non-riders tickets to get more FPs close together so the non riders weren't waiting around all day. With the current system, it seems like we'll be spending the whole day apart.

For example, in the MK.... Two riders get FP for Space and BTM. Two non riders still have 4 left. If we want to do Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pirates, Buzz, Be Our Guest, Haunted Mansion all together we'll only be able to pick one or two of those to do all together because the 'riders' will only have one or two left. Any suggestion, or does it seem like our only option would be to book the hardest to get one and then try to get same day passes the day of? We're not going until July when things will be fully implemented, so I'm not sure how realistic same day passes will be by then?

Anyone successfully completed a split stay with MagicBands? We're staying at AOA and AKV in November. Last night we were able to make our FP+ selections and customize our MagicBands...however we have two customizations for our bands!

Experienced insight would be helpful - thanks!

I can confirm the 30 days rule. I was just able to customize my bands yesterday for my Nov 6 check-in. I am now 42 days out and have 12 days to customize.

I thought I read somewhere that if you do not customize by the time stated, they just send you the gray bands... nor sure if thats true or not...

I was just this am able to customize our MB's, I am at 39 Days. I have until Oct 4 to change them if I want and we check in AKL Nov 3 so 30 days seem to be about right.

I am soooo Happy right now

I just did a split stay at POP and AoA. Everything worked perfectly. Both bands I had (one for pop and one for AoA) worked the entire trip for both rooms. I have an AP and it was linked to my band...no problems. My cousin joined me for second part of the trip at AoA only and his band also worked perfectly. We used the bands for magical express, room entry, park entry, and charging at parks, restaurants, and shops.

Having this same problem with DH. Can set up FP+ for the rest of the family .

I can customize my magic bands . Woo Hoo For anyone that has actually received them already. My daughter is wondering is the pink a bright pink or bubblegum pink. Also how wide are the bands

Bands are 1 inch across. My DD and I both got the pink. It's pretty bright, I think the color on the MDE website is pretty true to the actual color.

I was able to this for my family. I made FP+ for the headliners first and then went back in and changed the experience for those that can't or won't ride a particular headliner. For example my sis is taking my older DD on Space Mtn while I take the younger kids to ETWB. We also have a 2 year old in our group and one adult has an FP+ for Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh to take the 2 year old on while the others ride attractions that she can't do. It was actually pretty easy to do and I was able to get times that were almost exact with the headliner FP+

Ugh, I have yet another weird MB/FP+/AP issue...

Got the alert that we'll be getting MBs for our late Oct. trip. Fine. I don't like it, but I've accepted the inevitable. But I can't schedule FP+ for my son because his AP expires 2 days before our check-in date. So, aside from having no FP+ booked, when we arrive his MB won't have a ticket tied to it. I'm planning to renew then, but downgrade from a DVC PAP to a FL Seasonal - I'm guessing they'll add the new AP info the MB at that time?

Okay...

But we'll still have no FP+ booked. So I'd use my AP card to get FP-, but what will my son use? Will he also get a card for his AP, and will it be usable for FP-?

This is entirely too much confusion for a day or two at Disney... :headache:

As of right now you still get an actual AP card. It needs to be shown for discounts, etc.
