I'm able to slip mine under my bed on top of some plastic storage drawers (filled with ricrac, ribbon, trim, patterns, etc. LOL). Before I thought of that location, I kept it between the wall and my dresser so it couldn't sag too much and not lay flat when I used it.
that is a smart idea for now i have a huge laundry room downstairs which i am wanting to turn into my sewing room but it just does not work for winter since it is like -12 down there:eek: i have to put on a jacket just to do laundry .. but for now everything is in my bedroom .. i did not think about behind the dresser .... since my bed sits on the floor ... i may just have to go grab me one now:idea: i have wanted one for a while...

WOW I went to Joann's today and didnt see any disney fabric on clearance. I'm so impressed! Might have to check another one in the area. I did get some fabric to make dd some lyrical skirts for dancing. I was excited those were 50% off.

So I need to get a cutting mat. Are the Olfa ones really worth the money? The lady at Joann's seems to think so and they are all 40% off. I have an Olfa cutting blade someone gave me but no mat. I was looking at the 24X36 size. Does anyone have any of the larger ones? I'm not sure where I would store it if I got a larger one.

I have a Fiskar's cutting mat that is 24x36 and I store mine next to my fridge. It slides nicely between the fridge and the wall to keep it from losing its shape. I don't know anything about the Olfa brand but I am lovin' my Fiscar one. My MIL bought it for me for Christmas. I just lay this one on my table and I'm not afraid of scratching my table up anymore.

I love my Olfa mat! It has lasted for years and through the construction of many quilts. I don't have that big of one (I think mine's 17x23) and I too usually store mine under the bed or under my long dresser.

I'm in need of this pattern

I know that farbermix has one (Anna), but I'm not good
album with having to trace and add seam allowance. Does anyone know if this style is available from a big 4

I really want the big mat. I have the green cutting mat on my art desk. It is about 24 inches. I keep it out all the time. I just stand it near the wall when I paint. I like the idea of keeping the large one under the bed. I really need a larger mat because I make DD a lot of costumes. I never have enough rolling room. :)

i'm sorry i don't know what :wizard: is:confused3 can you please enlighten me:goodvibes thank you
Sorry I thought everybody on here knew what that stood for. I'm very glad that somebody answered your question though.

Are you all sewing for the 3 day weekend!!!!
I will be sewing after I get my DD's room back in some kind of order. We are going to be giving lots of toys to charity this weekend. She is gone to Monroe with my grandparents to see her cousins so I should be able to get her room done easily.

I finally went downtown to get the alligator clips. I bought four packs so hopefully I won't have to go there again for awhile. I had a city bus behind me who kept getting way too close to the back of my car.

I also went to Hobby Lobby and got some more ribbon. While I was in there I found these really cute flowers and butterflies for DD's room. I will have to post pics because they are too cute.

Yay! I am glad you found them and made it back safely.

I got my thread and finally finished my project. This is for someone who is going to AK Sunday. She has a little girl and boy.

Thanks so much! I've added it to my list of patterns to buy when they go on sale for .99. Great job, btw!

I was planning on sewing all weekend but my PITB FIL invited himself over so I have to clean now!!!!!

I am going to sew all day Sunday and Monday. Yipeee!!!

I'm so excited! I went to JoAnns to get there at the start of the weekend sale. I only planned to get thread and interfacing but checked the clearance fabric in case there was something new. I couldn't believe it when I found a few Disney prints! I bought much more than I really should have but I thought the timing was perfect since I want to start making somethings for Zoe and my great-nephew to wear on our DLR trip. Also, I couldn't pass these up since they were only $2-3 per yard. I think I bought all they had of each print except the stripe since it was a full bolt... although I was tempted to get all that, too. LOL

I think this will become a fairly simple peasant or halter top for Zoe with capris in a coordinating color. I might do a basic applique to match the flower from this print:

I'm thinking I'll make Zoe a halter top of the swirls with accent of the coral & stripe and capris of the stripe with accents of the other two. I may use some of the swirl for a panel on a camp shirt for my nephew and possibly use a little of the stripe for accent, like a pocket and collar.

This will probably be another halter top for Zoe with white accents and white capris with a Nemo applique and another camp shirt for my nephew.

Wow!!! You lucky ducky!!! I have been looking for that pink for a loooonnnngggg time - would love any of the ones you found!! Im going tonight - hopefully something will be there - the Wilmington, DE JoAnn's usually has a terrible selection of Disney Fabrics - were these fabrics new in the store or had they been there for a while??

Happy Sewing!!

PS - if i want to put a layer of tulle under a dress, how do you know how much to use? Same measurement wide as the dress fabric, or do you like double it? I want to try this soooooooo badly!!!

Thanks, Wendy
