I love this! Is that the peekaboo skirt from YCMT?

Well. Not exactly. I sort of LOOKED at the one on YCMT and decided how I would make it. I THINK that one calls for two large ties to hold the upper skirt up. I put bias tape on the back of the upper skirt and made some cording as two drawstrings. And I wimped out on putting an applique on the underskirt b/c I didn't want to mess the whole thing up after I had made it. But then I attached buttons to the ends of the cording and it looked adorable.

Wendy - you are too scarce lately, woman!!! Hope you have dug out of the snow by now!!!

What else?
Heather - good luck with the new doctor.

EVERYONE - great job with the projects, keep 'em coming! I might mostly lurk, but I LOVE seeing the pictures!

I found these at Wal Mart after someone suggested that they are by the curlers. Hope you can get them safely!
I looked by the curlers at our Wal-Mart and they didn't have them. They had bobby pins there. Our Wal-Mart has stopped carrying alot of stuff that they used to and they don't seem to have as much of a selection anymore. Our Wal-Mart at the time it was built was the biggest Super Wal-Mart ever built and they don't have anything.

I am going to a new hematologist today. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed for me that she's not as ignorant about my autoimmune disease as the rest of them have been! :goodvibes

I'm so excited! I went to JoAnns to get there at the start of the weekend sale. I only planned to get thread and interfacing but checked the clearance fabric in case there was something new. I couldn't believe it when I found a few Disney prints! I bought much more than I really should have but I thought the timing was perfect since I want to start making somethings for Zoe and my great-nephew to wear on our DLR trip. Also, I couldn't pass these up since they were only $2-3 per yard. I think I bought all they had of each print except the stripe since it was a full bolt... although I was tempted to get all that, too. LOL

I think this will become a fairly simple peasant or halter top for Zoe with capris in a coordinating color. I might do a basic applique to match the flower from this print:

I'm thinking I'll make Zoe a halter top of the swirls with accent of the coral & stripe and capris of the stripe with accents of the other two. I may use some of the swirl for a panel on a camp shirt for my nephew and possibly use a little of the stripe for accent, like a pocket and collar.

This will probably be another halter top for Zoe with white accents and white capris with a Nemo applique and another camp shirt for my nephew.

It has a few different names but you want to look for nylon tricot chiffon or something like that. It's a type of knit which means the raw edges don't need to be finished because they won't fray like on a woven. I just googled "nylon chiffon" and had a few sites found that sell what you're looking for so you can see if they ship to your area. This is the price I've been able to find:
http://www.theatrehouse.net/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=THH&Product_Code=0992&Category_Code=FabChiffon. They appear to ship internationally but the cost seems pretty high considering the fabric weighs so little.

So far, I've only made one pettiskirt and it wasn't as full as I'd wanted. However, the fabric I used was kind of expensive considering I used 6+ yards to get even that fullness so I didn't add to it... although it was tempting! I bought some hot pink tricot chiffon on clearance to experiment with but haven't done anything with it yet. Here's a photo of the one I made for my DD's costume:

Thank you - at least now I have somewhere to start. :) I love your one it looks great.

Grandpa *sigh*...:sad1:

I'd say jumping guys!

Yup, I have it checked!

We (sugarbees and I) found some pooh bear on clearance at Joanns this morning also! We got some pooh seersucker and the same stripes you got and some pooh bear that matches the stripes. We didn't find as much as you though!

They had a couple Pooh prints and this Tink.

I was tempted to get the Tink print but the printing looked off - her eyelashes were not in the right place on her face. I have a feeling Zoe and GN would think Pooh is too "babyish". ;) I'm debating a trip to a Super JoAnns this afternoon to see if they have any other prints on clearance. In addition to the swirl Mickey print, I've really been wanting this print but don't want to pay full price:

Okay, this is my fabric I am always looking for and I WILL pay full price. I can't even find it on :wizard: Did you see it at your Joanns? I want it soooo badly!! Unfortunately there is only one Joanns in my area.

cute stuff posted i had multi-qouted but i guess it did not post ..ARGHHHH:eek:

WOW I went to Joann's today and didnt see any disney fabric on clearance. I'm so impressed! Might have to check another one in the area. I did get some fabric to make dd some lyrical skirts for dancing. I was excited those were 50% off.

So I need to get a cutting mat. Are the Olfa ones really worth the money? The lady at Joann's seems to think so and they are all 40% off. I have an Olfa cutting blade someone gave me but no mat. I was looking at the 24X36 size. Does anyone have any of the larger ones? I'm not sure where I would store it if I got a larger one.

Does anyone know what is on sale for the "Big Sale" at Joann's that starts tomorrow?

Hi cindee! I used to go to your JoAnn's all the time, but we just went on Wednesday, and compared to mine, I have to say I was really disappointed. I couldn't find anything:confused3 . I actually left and went back to my old one. I used to love that store...I wonder what happened. It seems to have gone downhill.

Our local JA didn't have it - or at least I couldn't find it. I did check with the other regular priced licensed prints and it wasn't there either. The Super JA I may go to had it last time we were there but we didn't have a trip planned at that time so I was trying to buy ONLY what I needed for existing plans.

I think sometimes the stores try to have too include too many types of crafts and in the end all of the sections become weaker. Our local store is pretty decent and most of the employees actually sew but other locations I've been to don't seem as well organized, staffed and managed.

I think so especially with the discount. I've had mine for years and it's still in very good condition. I don't use it as much as I did when I made quilts but it's so nice to have when I need it.

i don't have the large one because of that exact reason where to store it ??? i could probably find room somewhere but i think i am overwhelmed with what i already have.. i just bought one from wal-marshey so i could not help you with that but i absolutely love my rotary cutter it is pink and is for breast cancer.... awareness .. i bought it because it was pink it was an impulse buy..;)

I'm able to slip mine under my bed on top of some plastic storage drawers (filled with ricrac, ribbon, trim, patterns, etc. LOL). Before I thought of that location, I kept it between the wall and my dresser so it couldn't sag too much and not lay flat when I used it.
