Mousecellaneous - a thread to share non-DLP related posts

I would love to spend Christmas at WDW but DH prefers to go when it is warmer so he can be guaranteed a few days in the water parks. I will get my own way one day - I always do :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am posting on this forum because I am wondering if anyone is familiar with Glagla shoes from Baliston (A company in France). I recently read an article about them that indicates they provide total ventilation and thought they would be great for those hot, humid August nights in Florida.

Does anyone have a pair that can provide some feedback?

Thanks!!!

I had never heard of them before; they look similar to my Lands End sneakers. The sole technology seems to be cashing in on the popularity of Geox shoes.

Personally, I prefer the look of Geox; they are extremely popular through most of Europe and come in pseudoathletic styles as well as loafers, mules, etc. They are also available in the US. I wear Geox on average 5 days a week, and have worn them at various Disney parks.

But then, that is my preference for European vs American stlye in footwear

Never heard before but must admit they do look cool. I have 2 pairs of Crocs and love them - will definitely bring them to DLRP tomorrow. I was worried about sweaty feet etc etc because they're plastic but it's never happened! Everyone in our house has them and we all love our Crocs!

I love Crocs as well but I'm looking for an alternative for our August trip as they make my feet so warm...with or without socks.

Bavaria -- Thank you for mentioning the Geox line as I was not familiar with it. I might try them if I can't get any feedback on the Glagla's.

Crocs also do a pair of toe posts called Athens and a style that has 2 thin cross bars called Cleo.

They are the same spongy comfortable material but a lot more open than the original beach crocs.

I wore them everyday to Portaventura in June and they did not make my feet as sweaty as the original ones do in high temps.

BTW They are shortly bringing out a pair with fur in them for the winter - from what I can tell they will be an ankle type shape.

I also live in my Fly Flots - they are equally as comfortable if you want an alternative.

Have never heard of Glagla before but they do look nice.

Glad to hear others wear their Crocs to DLP. I'm constantly wearing them in the US parks. I was a little nervous about taking them on my Paris trip.

Because I will be at WDW!!!!!!!!!!! Woohooooooo!!!
First a Space Shuttle launch, then a cruise, and then WDW, and hopefully MNSSHP isn't sold out yet. I'm so excited! And I just can't hide! lalalala

You lucky thing - so its over to WDW planning boards now :thumbsup2

I get so stressed by everything
Going to DL and DLP is easy, you just book a hotel, buy tickets and go. At WDW, every step you take needs planning. It drives me crazy!
I'll need an extra week vacation to un-stress, lol!

Sandra, just sticking this on the Mousecellaneous thread. :goodvibes

Wow, that is wonderful news!!! :dance3: I'd love to do MNSSHP.
Seeing the shuttle launch will be awesome and is it a Disney cruise you are going on?

I heard as long as you don't go comparing to DLP, WDW will still be an enjoyable Disney experience :rotfl: ;)

Well, I agree in some way. I enjoyed WDW enough to go back, but... I missed DL and DLP a lot when I was there. WDW lacks the "coziness" feeling that DL and DLP have.
But hey, they have overgrown mice and sell overpriced items, so I was still happy ;)

Oh, I didn't even knew this thread was here.

I hope we'll see the shuttle launch, it's scheduled to take place on October 20, and as soon as tickets become available, I'll buy them, but it's very very possible that it will be delayed or whatever. We will be visiting KSC on that day anyway, if we see a Shuttle launch => yeay! otherwise, too bad, we'll enjoy the space center anyway :)

It's not a Disney cruise. Disney cruises are more expensive than the one we will be taking, and also... I don't need an overdose of Disney. Disney is fun, but once in a while, I need something else too!

Sandra, have you considered booking WDW through one of the specialised Disney travel agencies. I think Dreams Unlimited is a sponsor of the disboards and I have read good things about them. But there are others, too. I used them for both my trips to WDW and found it much easier than having to deal with a call center in the US. Especially because they also make all your ADRs. They shipped all the documents to me in Germany without any additional charge. It was great to have one person deal with all besides air fare and rental car.

Hi everyone. Got back at 5pm from our extended trip. So many highs and first which I record on my trip report.
Parks as expected very busy.

BTW Sandra great news on the WDW trip :goodvibes

Hi guys,

not had a very good 24 hours. About 8pm last night i found my little cat Mushu outside my house in a lot of pain. My neighbour said she thought he had been hit by a car. We took him to the vet and she said his leg was seriously fractured, possibly his pelvis too, and his breathing was bad so his lung may be punctured or have blood in it.

It was a horrible decision, but I decided to put him down. Even if we had paid for treatment he may not have survived, and may not have had a great life.

He was such an adorable and fun cat, a real character, and I'm going to miss him dreadfully. We had him for less than 12 months, but he really enriched our lives just being around.

Sorry to post such an off-topic thread, but I know how supportive you guys are here.

To Mushu.

That is terrible news. I am so sorry to hear that. Sending you a big
