Yeah - I'm not sure we want to be secret. We ARE the alternative to reddit and those other places. We help newbies, we welcome newbies, we educate newbies! We want that to continue, but truth be told, people find us on the DIS and we are ALWAYS near the top of the Budget Board and the "All New Posts" pages because we are so active.I did the survey but I frankly don't see how a new thread that is this open with ideas and advice is going to be kept secret...I'm not sure you can have it both ways and IMHO I wouldn't want this to become reddit or F**talk or some of those other 'nastier' environments. I've gleaned a LOT of useful info over the years at places like that but it wasn't nearly as enjoyable as coming here to read my daily updates.... no matter how you slice it it was noted earlier that nothing here is anything 'new' on the general 'net..... it's all out there anyway. just my 2 cents, and I respect whatever choices you make here since you do a lot of work keeping all this up and I appreciate it! (also I like the size of this thread,it makes it way harder to navigate and sneak around easily lol)
I think a new thread could make sense just so new people don't try to read through some of the old pages which contain A LOT of outdated info and advice. Given our current pace we would probably create 1,000 pages within 6 months.
One interesting suggestion somebody made in the "Other" comments section of the survey was to create a thread by year. So we'd wait until the end of the year and then have an I Love Credit Cards 2019, and so on each year (or whatever we choose to name it)... I thought it could be a neat idea.
