I have booked my flights but it looks like hotels are going for 200+/night December 1 - 5. We have gone the past few years during this same time and hotels were a little cheaper. Any ideas on what is going on? I paid about 2100 for Courtyard by Marriott for this same time last year with park hoppers and this year it is 3300? Thanks!
Costs just keep skyrocketing. Probably due to the fact the parks are always full. Hotels are always full. High demand.

How is everyone’s planning going? I’m really excited. It’s so far away!

My wife and I will be doing a Disney Coast to Coast in December! We had this crazy idea a while back and booked our room at WDW and waitlisted for the Grand Californian (we're DVC). We didn't really expect the waitlist at GC to come though but it did! So it's Coast to Coast and back to back! We'll be checking out the decorations in both parks this year.

Disney World at Saratoga Springs - Dec 3-10
Disneyland at Grand Californian - Dec 10-14

DVC points spent, plane booked, tickets bought!

We're eyeing the Disneyland Express bus but land on the 10th just after 6. The last bus in at 7 so we're debating if this is the way to go. Could do the Supershuttle.

Soooo sad and jealous. This is the first year in like the last 5 years that we decided not to do Disney in December. Hope all of you have a great time!
Hubby agreed to go instead of skipping this year! Woo Hoo! We will be at the Sheraton Park 11/29-12/2....So excited. We have decided to surprise the kids and not tell them until we head to the airport.

Try Uber, Lyft or a cab.

Higher than norm prices also were in effect at the Fairfield during that week. I think it's because the hotels are doing more to price rooms based on demand, and the first week of December has a greater than normal surge due to the halo around Thanksgiving break + the Candlelight Processional. The price drops back down to normal for a while, after that first week. We're staying 2-10, check out on the 11th, and that first week is killin' us! *bleck*

For busy Christmas season (Dec 21-27), would you stay at GCH or DLH? I have GCH woods view booked right now but I think my son would love the beds on DLH! (That it has a castle that lights up) What do you guys think? Pros and cons? Thanks :)

I have never stayed at GCH but we are staying at DLH for Christmas again this December and it does seem much more Disney to me. Although during construction you might want GCH. I chose DLH because we are going with a group who has never stayed on site and for the first time experience I think DLH is a must. DD loves the pool at DLH and the lobby and the headboards and I just love the overall Disney feel.

We stayed at DLH 5 years ago and did love the overall feel. Thanks! Might rebook to DLH!

We just booked our hotel! Going Nov. 30 and Dec. 1st! Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Question for you all, we used to go quite often, but now only once a year. I know the Saturday we are going is CP. We are doing a one park per day ticket. Just cannot justify a PH. Would you do DL on Friday or DL on Saturday? I cannot decide and do not know if DCA will be crazy crowded on Saturday because people are trying to avoid CP. TIA!

Both are terrific. My kids love the beds at DLH, they are just magical. But the lobby of GCH is spectacular at Christmas. Hard choice!

We will be there Dec 19-22 and will be staying at Hojos. This is the 2nd year in a row that our school calendar has enough days before Christmas to fit a trip in. We’re super excited and plan on upgrading to Annual Passes while we’re there!

12/7-9 are my full park days. I don’t usually come in December or on all weekend days! We have 12/6 too but I don’t know what time we’ll really get there.

Is this all possible? Here are some new things I hope to do:
    Frozen
    Mickey & Magical Map
    Trader Sam’s
Walk around DLH & get a dole whip
    Buy a candy cane
Shop for dh & kids. Home store in dtd. (I hate shopping don’t usually do it!)
Carthay Circle tour if they still have it
    Ride a main st vehicle

    Are these available somewhere still?
