Ok, panic attack over... Gwen's teach checked with the English Specialist and she said they should be done by 11:30! Thank Goodness!!!
So, we are def sticking with the plan on not telling them till when we pick them up. And I am thinkgin of giving her 2 of her smaller gifts to open in the car. one is a set of books that she has been "DYEING" to get and the other is new headphones. She needs the head phones for the plane as hers stopped working. And I think we can safely leave the books in the car. And then we will leave the last gift wrapped for her to find when we get back.
I am leaning towards one of the gift boxes having something in it saying we are going to Disney. But I am not sure i need it. As soon as they are called down to the office, I think they are going to know.
I have now gotten TWO more Beaches and Cream reservation! So, I now have (3) dinning reservation options for us on Friday and I have to admit I don't like any of them...
- Beaches and Cream @ 12:50
- Beaches and Cream @ 2:20
- Ohana @ 3:40
The first B&C reservation might still be too early, we would probably have to leave Magic Kingdom at noon to make it and that might still be pushing it to be there in time. The second B&C time might be too late, we might be hangry by then. And the Ohana time, we would need to stay in the park till then. Which I guess is possible if it isn't too crowded.
I will probably need to decide before that day, as all of these reservations will be hard to shift out and then cancel.
Testing week is so not my favorite (as a parent OR as a teacher!!!) But doing the make-up test following actual testing week is actually worse because the kids are missing out on whatever is going on in the classroom, and sometimes the testing window is a pain to extend. It's so frustrating. Sorry...teacher rant over
I am sure it is a pain. I wasn't loving the fact that Gwen was missing a day of testing, which is why we did the later in the day flight. I mean I would ahve loved to leave first thing. Morgan is out of class for so many things, sometimes I don't know how she is learning anything! Or how these teachers teach anything. It sounds like they almost never have all the kids in the room.
I think your plan to just send them and pick up at 11:30 sounds good. Most kids, in my experience, don't take the entire time allotted to them for finishing the test anyway.
This is def what we are doing. I really wanted her to finish the testing that day but I am alos that person who gets super anxious about getting through security and all that stuff. Morgan always finished before the time, but I am not sure about Gwen.
I never understood that either!! I'm thinking they will both just be so thrilled to go on the trip that the presents wouldn't be at the forefront of their minds anyway!
I have tried really hard to stress the joy of giving as much as getting. And they do really love giving gifts and seeing the persons reaction when it is that really good gift. So, I am proud of that!
i did get Morgan something that I know Gwen will want for her birthday as well. that is the gift I am saving for when we get back.
