Added Trips! Now May, August, October & December!!! What?

BTW Casey is driving me crazy to talk to gwen! We are out of town but get back tomorrow. I'll text ya when you we get home to see if the other princess is free
Def! I was reading your most recent post and Gwen again peaked over my sholder and said, Hey I know her! Too funny!

As far as surprises any way you could bring their teachers in on it. Maybe have a note at the end of Gwen's test booklet or have Morgans teacher hand out an assignment or one of those word scramble things that says something about her birthday and Disney World?
Hmmm.. Both of their teachers would be up for it. Morgan had Gwen's teacher when she was in 3rd Grade and Morgan's current teacher is married to Gwen's teacher... So, I could probably work with them on something...

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Well, I survived the sleepover! I am super thankful, that Morgan has made some good friends. They all get along great and are all respectful. They stayed up till about 1:00 AM and were up at 6:00 AM but it could have been worse! I can't even go to bed cause we need to watch Game of Thrones in 10 minutes!!!

A few Real Life Pics from the Party:

The Girls after throwing Color Wars Powder at each other.

Painting Squishes....

Birthday Cake, or specifically Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich. Morgan and I made this, and I have to say it was actually fairly easy to make!

And the next morning, the girls with there finished paintings and squishes. My favorite was the girl who changed her taco to a choco-taco.

I am a hot mess for the trip, I was able to at least start packing and got the girls and my outfits started to layout. But I am not done, which I usually like to be much closer by the end of the weekend. But it is what it is.

I have NO idea how we are going to tell the girls. We bounced some ideas around but kept coming back to not wanting Gwen to know about the trip till after her test. So, I am going to wait till I hear from her teacher and then maybe decide?

A Beaches & Cream lunch reservation came up but for 11:20 AM which we would not be able to make, so I didn't take it. But it gives me hope for one popping up this week. We will see!

I did get a couple banners for the hotel room

And the bag I ordered to put some treats in FINALLY arrived!

It's more of a pouch but she can then use it for colored pencils and stuff later.

And then the cute Birthday card.

So, I am not in bad shape for Thursday but I could be better. Got to run and watch GOT! And then go to sleep.

Oo glad you survived the sleepover. You are very brave with the color powder lol!

I think it’s a good idea to not tell Gwen til after her test. I know i wouldn’t be able to focus!

The pouches are super cute!

Morgan's sleepover looked so fun! I love all the activities you came up with!

I feel like Gwen will probably have a hard time concentrating on her test if she finds out before school but from what you've said about Morgan will she feel rushed trying to open her gifts before getting to the airport? Thats such a tough one! Maybe tell them the night before? Like have Morgan open a present that night, could have her think shes going to open one present a day until her birthday but instead it could be like a box of balloons and a Disney balloon saying they are going to Disney for her birthday? and then she could open the rest of her presents that night? Gives them both time to process? Idk just thinking out loud! haha

What a fun birthday sleepover! I like the activities you had for them :) Just perfect!

I totally agree with you not wanting to tell the girls before Gwen's test. I was thinking it would be fun for Morgan to open her presents in the car on the way to the airport, but would Gwen be bummed?

Hopefully their teachers can find a fun way to get in on it!

Guys!!! I am freaking out!!!

Gwen's teach got back to me today. Sigh.... She said she wasn't completly sure because they are switching from PARCC testing to NSLAA testing. She said she "heard" it's shorter but didn't really know. But thought they would be done by noon!!!

But we really need to leave for the airport by 11:30!!! Ugh!!! I don't know what to do. Andy asked if we should just keep them out for the whole day. But that feels like a waste since we don't leave till lunch time.

Oye!!!

I think we have to send them to school and stick to the plan. Maybe just pick them up at 11:30 and hope Gwen is done. OYE!!!

I even looked to see if we could change our flight to leave earlier and just take them out the whole day but the 8:30 am flight only has 3 seats left and it would cost almost as much as we paid round trip to change it. No thanks!

As for the reveal.... I have gotten no farther along with that either. I am thinking we will just pick them up and go. I thought about making clues and getting them to her friends to give her at school on Thursday but I dont' know if I have time to do that or what the clue would be without giving it away.

I like that! My fear with most plans, is that they will figure out before they even open it!

No, I never did the whole here is a present even though it isn't your birthday. And I think they are old enough to understand things. I think...

Testing week is so not my favorite (as a parent OR as a teacher!!!) But doing the make-up test following actual testing week is actually worse because the kids are missing out on whatever is going on in the classroom, and sometimes the testing window is a pain to extend. It's so frustrating. Sorry...teacher rant over :)

I think your plan to just send them and pick up at 11:30 sounds good. Most kids, in my experience, don't take the entire time allotted to them for finishing the test anyway.

I never understood that either!! I'm thinking they will both just be so thrilled to go on the trip that the presents wouldn't be at the forefront of their minds anyway!

Ok, panic attack over... Gwen's teach checked with the English Specialist and she said they should be done by 11:30! Thank Goodness!!!

So, we are def sticking with the plan on not telling them till when we pick them up. And I am thinkgin of giving her 2 of her smaller gifts to open in the car. one is a set of books that she has been "DYEING" to get and the other is new headphones. She needs the head phones for the plane as hers stopped working. And I think we can safely leave the books in the car. And then we will leave the last gift wrapped for her to find when we get back.

I am leaning towards one of the gift boxes having something in it saying we are going to Disney. But I am not sure i need it. As soon as they are called down to the office, I think they are going to know.

I have now gotten TWO more Beaches and Cream reservation! So, I now have (3) dinning reservation options for us on Friday and I have to admit I don't like any of them...
  • Beaches and Cream @ 12:50
  • Beaches and Cream @ 2:20
  • Ohana @ 3:40

The first B&C reservation might still be too early, we would probably have to leave Magic Kingdom at noon to make it and that might still be pushing it to be there in time. The second B&C time might be too late, we might be hangry by then. And the Ohana time, we would need to stay in the park till then. Which I guess is possible if it isn't too crowded.

I will probably need to decide before that day, as all of these reservations will be hard to shift out and then cancel.

I am sure it is a pain. I wasn't loving the fact that Gwen was missing a day of testing, which is why we did the later in the day flight. I mean I would ahve loved to leave first thing. Morgan is out of class for so many things, sometimes I don't know how she is learning anything! Or how these teachers teach anything. It sounds like they almost never have all the kids in the room.

This is def what we are doing. I really wanted her to finish the testing that day but I am alos that person who gets super anxious about getting through security and all that stuff. Morgan always finished before the time, but I am not sure about Gwen.

I never understood that either!! I'm thinking they will both just be so thrilled to go on the trip that the presents wouldn't be at the forefront of their minds anyway!
I have tried really hard to stress the joy of giving as much as getting. And they do really love giving gifts and seeing the persons reaction when it is that really good gift. So, I am proud of that!

i did get Morgan something that I know Gwen will want for her birthday as well. that is the gift I am saving for when we get back.

Morgan's party looks like so much fun! Even better she has no idea the fun has only begun!

Hope you all have a great trip and don't stress about times. It will all work out however it is supposed to!

BTW sorry we never connected the other night. Casey came down with a stomach bug while we were at my inlays and that was less than fun to deal with :crazy2:

Glad you don't have to stress about the testing anymore.

Maybe if you want to do the later Beaches and Cream reservation you can all split something in the Magic Kingdom (like the waffles sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow) early so that you can make it til then?

I'm glad things got worked out with the test, and hopefully you'll be on the road right at 11:30. Can't wait to hear about how the girls reacted to the reveal. Have a wonderful time!!! :hyper::hyper::hyper:
