9/16/2017 Magic Transatlantic from Barcelona

It's probably due to the addition of tolls, which are pretty high around the NYC boroughs. I remember when my mom lived in Long Island it would cost us $21 in tolls just to visit her.

This is possible. I was seeing the flat rate of $52 from JFK to Manhattan, but it may be more going the other way and with tolls.

That's something I need to double check on, how early the transports leave. We will likely have carry our luggage off ourselves and eat breakfast in Cabanas. We're late dining so would normally have late breakfast but if we can get through customs and get going on one of the transports, all the better!! Thanks for bringing that point up! Will call right now!!

Hmmm, well...they said that they expect disembarkation to begin around 7:30. The first buses will leave as soon as they are full. I mentioned that our flight leaves at 11:55am and the CM said we should be fine. Now I'm nervous :worried:

Thanks for all the work maintaining the lists on the front page! Its so sad you aren't sailing with us but hopefully will in near future. With regards to postcard list, I have printed out a sheet to put on my door in case anyone's rooms change at check in.

Nope! That's one way!! So now my question is...can I go back and cancel that? I think I booked it out of moment of stressing about hearing how long the taxi lines are. I just want to be sure we make our flight (in leaves JFK at 11:55am...we're on Alaska and I have no idea which terminal Alaska flies out of and I'm just going to anticipate that security lines are going to be way long. I'm kicking myself for never having set up our interviews to get out Nexus passes that would've given us TSA pre-check. They sent us an email and I just totally spaced on setting up the interview with homeland security!! OY!! Dumb!!

I believe you can add/change transfers until a few days before so yes you can cancel. $45 each is only $10 more than the normal one way ($35) so it probably is an extra fee for tolls. DCL will try to make sure you guys are off quickly so it might be worth keeping for that aspect but I would also see how much a private transfer would be. At least with private you aren't waiting on others.

It has truly been my pleasure ::yes:::D

I did price out a town car that was the same price , including tip. Question though: is there a designated place that is easy to locate your town car for pick-up or do you have to walk a ton while waiting for them to pull in from some distant lot, only to be caught up in a line of cars picking up other passengers? I have a nightmare scenario in mind where you call and tell them you're ready to be picked up and they get stuck in line for 1/2 hr.

At least with DCL transport they will leave as soon as the bus is full, which I'd expect would be fairly quick.

Experience/advice from those who've done private car pick-up? Where is the location and are my fears valid or ridiculous?

My heart broke when I saw the news -- and we roamed that whole area in 2007. I love that city. My thoughts and prayers with everyone there, and everyone going. Safe travels

Somebody I know had the option yesterday for 10:00 or 10:30, so it should be available. We now have 11:00, I wanted to try to get a later time, but now I'm wondering if it is a good time after all (I really can eat a hot mail at breakfast, so I thought, if we go later, it'll feel less like breakfast)

So jealous! I've been checking back every day and haven't been able to find any availability for either 2 or 4 people :sad1:

We like Palo's at 11 a.m. now. The first time we did 10 a.m. and it was way too early for all the rich food. You can always check once onboard as people are always changing their reservations or might cancel. One cruise we couldn't get Palo at all, so during the embarkation lunch I left my family and ran upstairs to get a reservation and did, so there's always hope.

I think part of the reason stuff showed up yesterday is the group brunches were sorted out. My original brunch was cancelled (12pm on the last sea day) and I now have 10am showing on sea day 1 automatically as part of this. I therefore would assume others had this happen to. Maybe they kept back the 10am ones for this or for onboard bookings?

My only hope at this point for brunch and the only excursion I'm interested in is to get lucky onboard. I keep checking back on both at least once a day, but I'm just going to have to assume neither is going to happen. I got my parents on the excursion, and my DH and kids are whale watching. I'm just going to call it a Mom's Day Out, I guess, and see what I can do solo in Ponta Delgada.

This time change made me check our cruise activites. The mysterious Ship Activity scheduled for Lisbon seems to have vanished as quickly as it appeared. Honestly, I would have preferred Frozen Night over Pirate Night.

@RedSox68, echoing what everyone else has stated--your maintenance and participation in this thread has been absolutely invaluable. I don't know if I would have had your patience. I truly appreciate all that you have done and wish the best for you, especially regarding your health issues.

We are def having one and I reckon that night is right (we have an early port time and it makes sense being in the med). There was an email came around that mentioned it so its happening :D And if it doesn't I shall be kicking off as it says so in my emailed rotfl
