Chick-fil-a drive-thru question

We don't overly care for some of Chick-Fil-A or Hobby Lobby's POVs; however, we're weak and if I want something from there, I'll just quickly throw my principles out the window for immediate gratification! My son used to work for CFA in college so we just don't really care for the most part.

I generally don't go there often because the chicken sandwich is "just okay" to me. If I do go there, my two favorite things are the 3 pc. chicken strips entree and the peach milkshake in the summer.

Right now, I am LOVING their fish sandwich (only served during Lent). I have been eating 1-2 of those per week!

I have three restaurants in my area. If you go during a really SLOW time (which is almost never), you may actually have to use the speaker. But all three of them use the people in the line to take your order. I guess it's faster. It's certainly a bit more accurate and helpful for those who are confused with their orders.

So a company that respects their employees enough to give every single one of them a day to rest and to spend time with their families and worship the Lord is BS?
Sorry, have to disagree with you. In regards to Hobby Lobby, the forbidden items in their insurance certainly does not respect their employees.

Maybe I live in the wrong part of the country. 2 local Hobby Lobbies and several Wendys had to close due to lack of business. And Chick-Fil-A rarely has cars in parking lot or drive through anytime I drive by. They will be the next ones on Fast Food Row to bite the dust.

What purpose does it serve to have a person standing at the menu board taking your order as opposed to speaking into the speaker?

Not sure what the 'official' reason is, but in our city, all the locations are swamped at lunch time and it helps the lines run more smoothly and efficiently. All the decisions and mind changing is done without holding up others in line. You'd be surprised at how many people take 'forever' to do their order! Just think 'Disney' CS!!

Nothing. It is rubbery chicken although it does have a cult following. Luckily for us, there is a McDonalds, a Sonic, a Burger King, a 5 Guys, Popeyes, and about 10 other fast food restaurants in a row. The Chick-Fil-A near us hardly ever has traffic and I have never seen anyone outside taking orders.

Give me Canes chicken any day. WAY better than Chick Fil A.

I feel that way about Cane's. I went there because so many people were raving about it - and got bland, tasteless chicken. I love Chik Fil A though. To each their own.

I can't say that I've been to a Chick-Fil-A that does this. It's been a few months since I've been to the ones in my area but they didn't do it the way the article discusses.

Is this only in certain areas?

This thread is about Chick-fil-A. Your comment was about Chick-fil-A. My response to your comment was about Chick-fil-A.

Seriously, why can’t people just discuss a topic without other people feeling like they need to come preach to the rest of us?

We get it! You don’t like their views and stances on certain issues! This thread is about their drive though practices if I recall, not all of the other stuff you and others are trying to drag into it.

Employees don't work seven days a week, especially at a fast food joint, so lets not pretend that that's a reason, and i have a feeling that a small few of the Chick Fil A employees are spending the day with the Lord. They're imposing their religion on me and that's why I won't spend my dollars there. THANK YOU for jogging my memory on why I don't go there or to Hobby Lobby. I respect their right to close on Sunday - their store, their rule. My money, my rules.

PS we do take out at least 4-5 times a week - so my disposable dollars do count.

Our Chik-fil-a's only have people in the drive thru lines when it's really busy, usually lunch time. It definitely helps keep the line quick with actual people with picture menus coming up to your car that you can talk to instead of screaming through a speaker and you pay right then. They are usually much further ahead in the line than the menu speaker so there is more time to get your order done before you get to the pick-up.

Whoa, a little sensitive? Who's doing the preaching? YOU brought up the whole worshiping and respecting their employees in response to another's post that said she didn't like the restaurants closed on Sundays. She didn't even go in to why she thought it BS. YOU are bringing in the religious aspects and putting your meaning into people's posts. I merely responded that I disagreed with your view of respect.

I said I didn't like Chick-Fil-A's food, prefer Canes, and that the Chick-Fil-A in our area is suffering and there has never been anyone outside taking orders. I think that covers your demand that we discuss drivethroughs.

Could be your area. Most fast food places near me are very crowded. Burger King the least. At Chik Fil A it’s very very packed at the dozen or so in the area and the double drive through lines ar wrapped around the buildings and at times are out onto the main road at the 3 meal times.

Same here. Our CFAs often cause backups into the main road. It's amazing. People just love that drive thru. Yet you can go inside and it's quite calm (unless is Saturday and all the kids' soccer games are winding up).

I honestly don't know how Burger King stays in business.

I very much believe it may be my community. There is rarely anyone at CFA and now that someone brought up other CFA's issues, lack of patronage would very much reflect the community as a whole.

Our BK also is void of customers. But that is because their food also stinks. Although their new veggie burger may cause a few more people in this area to go there.

I haven't been to one in years and years, (and we're the worst parents because we won't take the children, even after other activities with a group) but I see how that would speed up the process. I'm guessing they don't force their employees outside during inclement weather though.

I guess if I’m sensitive about anything it is people trying to bring their liberal activist agenda into every single stinking thread about certain topics, regardless of the actual point of the discussion.

Seriously...it was only a matter of time. Everyone who saw the thread title knew it.

Saying you don't like a fast food chain's food is a liberal activist agenda? Okie dokie. Or are you manifesting angst from a different thread?

I will reiterate, YOU were the ONLY one who mentioned religion in this thread. You are trying to bait a conversation about things other than fast food. So, who is bringing in their agenda?
