Shampoo, conditioner ... Dispensers?

Just got off the Wonder last Friday and they have made the switch to dispensers, too. DCL should mount dispensers in the shower area because the bulky containers they have now don't fit in the rack in there (one does, but the other doesn't). I still would like a bar of soap.
They also stopped the Navigators at night to encourage you to use the app and save trees. However, you can get a printed one at Guest Services, which is the only real way, in my mind, where everything is laid out in front of you and you can easily see all schedules/activities/etc. to plan your next day. Having the menus on the app is great. They still have towel animals...ours got more bizarre each night, but fun. The chocolate treats are still there, too.
Great trip, but short at 5 nights. Cruise on...

Was on the same cruise and echo all these comments. The thing I least liked about the new bulky containers for shampoo, condititoner, and shower gel is that you can only fit one on the shelf in the shower at the same time.

I also like having a bar of soap for both bathrooms (they now just give you one although I'm sure any stateroom host would provide an extra one on request).

Agree with the other posters. Dispensers are a problem on the Wonder. You can only fit one dispenser on the little metal soap rack where you put the bar soap. Huge pain trying to juggle three large dispensers (shampoo, conditioner and body wash) in the shower. Just ended up using our own shampoo. Also agree, they are not hygienic. There is just a little silver sticker that comes right off. Disney needs to install a sealed dispenser on the wall of the shower/tub.

Anyone have a photo of these in the ship's bathrooms?

Also, what do you mean only one bar of soap? Which one was lacking a bar of soap and what was the replacement? I don't like body washes for the shower. I like soap. Is that something I now need to add to my packing list?

Is the H2O stuff still on sale in the shop? I assume its the same stuff that was in the tubes, so at least we can purchase it?

Just buy it from the source. It might not have a Disney character on the package but it's the same product. Watch for their sales, as well. They normally have a great Black Friday sale site wide.

On the Fantasy last week. Toiletries haven’t changed yet. No regular delivery of paper navigators, but we asked at Guest Services on day one and they arranged for our stateroom attendant to deliver us one each night.

Looks like I'll have to add that to my list of things to get done at Guest Services on Embarkation Day, along with Tastings, Frozen Meet and Greet, and Castaway Cay 5K.

We cruised the Magic two weeks ago, while they still gave out individual toiletries (weird how those seem almost like luxury items now, lol). They left one bar of soap in one bathroom for the sink, one bar of soap for the shower, and no soap for the other sink. I didn't notice that at first, but once I did, we requested and got a bar of soap for the other sink from our stateroom host.

Glad I happened to pop on to check before we leave next week.
For us dispensers are a big no. I have a daughter with Cystic Fibrosis. Those dispensers are breeding grounds for bacteria, especially certain bacteria that can be particularly dangerous for her. We will definitely need to bring our own shampoo/conditioner. If I'm reading correctly, we will still be able to get bar soap. Is that correct?

Bar soaps are plentiful and available from your SR host/ess. We liked to have one in each bathroom + 1 in the tub. We would leave notes to the SR host asking for more whenever we felt we needed additional ones.

Sorry if im ignorant on this, but how is a bar of soap different from shampoo dispensers when it comes to bacteria?
I mean, the bar just sits there in the open collecting dust & microbes.. the dispensers are enclosed in a container. Aren't they safer as far as collecting bacteria goes?

Bet when the dispensers start disappearing at the end of the cruises, they will go back to individual tubes. You just know they will be packed away. Lol

Bar soap is individually wrapped and sealed. It is opened by the consumer.

That's a good point. If you used half the product (as a family, it could happen), would those bottles be refilled or just tossed? If they're going to toss them, could a guest just pack it and bring it home? And I wonder how many times a DH will walk through the room one last time, see the soap, thinking his DW brought it and will toss it in his carry on? Or vice versa?

Will there be a red pillow-sized charge for missing bottles or just a laundry bag sized charge, if any at all?

I read somewhere that the charge would be in the $30 range per bottle.

Also, wanted to add - all of us really need to send messages to DCL help center regarding both the dispensers and paper navigators. I know it can often seem that custom service doesn't really pay attention, but if they start seeing an increase in complaints they should take note and hopefully make a change. Here is a link https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/help/email/

Not if we like the changes. :-)
