Official Wine & Dine 2018

On the subject of transportation... rD responded to my inquiry about the lack of detailed info on race bus times. They told me all of that info is in the Race Guide. Which it is NOT, as that was my purpose in emailing. ~sigh~ I did get another email asking to rate the response I received and I responded appropriately :) So, unless they add to the Race Guide between now and then, we are without start and finish times for race buses. This should be interesting!

Thought I’d see if anyone is interested in doing a character text group for the half. We did this for marathon weekend and it worked pretty well. How it works - I’ll be running out of corral A and I’ll text out the characters on the course as I come to them. Allows people starting further back and worried about their time to know who is on the course and plan ahead for character stops. The timing is a little tighter for a half since we don’t get spread out as much, but can still useful if you want to know what’s coming up. If you’re interested, pm me your phone number and type of phone you have and I’ll set up a text group. As an added bonus, you’ll get to find out which characters I don’t know and enjoy seeing how talk to text interprets the ones I do. :)

I'M IN (FOR MY HUBBY!)

Someone staying on site should be able to get that info from their hotel lobby and post it here for offsite and onsite people to use. Going to guess they’ll also probably have that info at the expo.

Here's hoping! I've done enough WDW races to know when I need to be there, but imagine being brand-new to this and driving from offsite - might be nice to know when the first and last buses depart EP for the start! Just seems bizarre to not include that info in the Transportation section.

Definitely not good for new people. And it is weird that they don’t have it. I mentioned it before but it’s like they were trying to make it so they don’t have to update it.

If no one else does, I’ll post something when I get there.

As of Friday not online

According to the course map we are still running through the Skyliner construction. I am a bit surprised since that looks like this currently.

For those inquiring about day-of bus times, the official guide says this:
  • Transportation times and pick-up locations will be posted on signs in the lobby of each Host Resort.
If memory serves me correct they start hotel pickups around 3 am. For anyone staying at Saratoga, they only pick up at the main bus stop near the resort lobby, they do not go around to the others within the resort.

There is a chance I may have 2 party tickets for sale. PM me if interested and I will contact ASAP when we know our final decision.

In case anyone needs this info - and can't find it via rD - here's the bus and driving info from last year, direct from the 2017 Race Guide (no guarantee it'll be the same for 2018, but since rD isn't providing details...):

Just curious from where or what angle picture is seen from. More curious what the roadway is on the left hand side of picture.
The picture is an aerial image from a helicopter. The roadway on the far left is access to BC/YC. That road goes under the water (similar to the water bridge at MK).
