Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Thank you! So many people moan about buses AT EVERY RESORT I'VE STAYED IN and it usually is not what I experience. Just want to see what others' have experienced. I think I'll save the money on the car rental!

I know what you mean. My cousin and her family are checking out tomorrow after 10 nights there and they had their car as they are only a 5 hour drive away. She told me the only time they used it was for a very early breakfast ADR at Cape May at the Beach Club. Never even thought about it the rest of the time.

That's awesome! I was able to switch from Preferred to a King Bed room. We are going to try for Jamaica and enjoy letting the Mouse drive us around. I love it there. I last stayed there 10 years ago! It will be so interesting to see how it has changed!

I think the only "5th sleeper" aka murphy bed rooms are the standard/preferred/water view rooms. I don't believe they have any in the Pirate rooms which are farthest from Centertown. Keep checking back, room inventory is quite fluid. I have no suggestions for room requests.
Thanks, I appreciate it!

I haven't been keeping up with the forum much lately, anything exciting going on these days?
Har har, har, just kidding :) I'm excited that it sounds like construction is wrapping up, also thanks to momto4obkids for posting the quick service menu, I agree, it looks delicious. Wish I were there checking in today :)

This is so exciting! We are there in 19 days!!! There are also some nice pix in the facebook group.

Okay I tried to look it up on the first page but couldn't find anything specific outside of the gondolas not being ready, but I don't care so much about that.

We are booking a room for March 31, 2019. Will there be any impact to our stay by then? We would want a lobby to check in, a restaurant and bar area instead of a tent, and a functional pool area.

Everything opened today, you're all set. Only DVC Riviera and Skyliner still under construction now.

Well that's great to here. Thanks. Question about the rooms, were they renovated as well like the ones at Coranado?

Don't quote me here, but I think they were last renovated in 2014. The rooms received wood sliding doors to separate the sink area from the bed area (as opposed to a curtain), the room decor was totally renovated (used to have a bright aqua/yellow/pink fish/Finding Nemo type, loud theme to the rooms, now a much more 'mature' look), lighting fixtures, queen beds, new carpet, new curtains, fold-down 5th sleepers in some rooms, etc. So, they have not received the more recent soft goods refurbs that POFQ and CSR just got so no vinyl plank flooring (yet), and no wall-mounted TV, and probably no additional USB ports like the recent refurbs. I think they'll probably get to that, but my guess is that they might wait a bit since they finally just finished all of the Centertown construction. I'm interested to see if they'll do those things after the Skyliner is finished.

[eta] There are room photos on the first page of this thread -- go to page 1 and either scroll or do a search (Ctrl + F) for the word 'standard' and you can jump down until you hit standard room photos.

Actually to make it easier here's a permalink to room photos, standard with the pull-down:
