Princess Kate is in labor with baby 3!!!

How the heck does she get the strength to leave the hospital. Unless she really prefers to be home.
I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself, I thought I was going to faint.

I don't care if you have people to come and attend to your hair and makeup, it's a lot of pressure to walk out of that hospital hours after giving birth to be greeted by the worldwide press and cameras.

She was the same with the other 2. Most of it is due to the fact that the road where the media and spectators camp out and the hospital itself are a very busy regular hospital. She knows that her presence there causes a huge amount of disruption, for regular patients, staff, the police, etc etc. Her hair dresser and personal stylist were at the hospital to get her ready. Im sure that she just wants to go home and be away from all the scrutiny. She will probally have a private nurse for a while. And dont forget she has nannys, cooks, maids etc a full household staff.

No way could I have done that after my first. But after my second or third? Sure. Especially if I had an entire staff of people to wait on me and get up with the crying baby if needed. I bet they have a doctor readily available at home too.

My aunt was a nurse in a hospital that was short-staffed so hours after giving birth to her 2nd kid she got out of bed and worked a shift. Obviously she needed the money.

There were rumors that he was quite a philanderer for a while after Charles & Anne were born and he Phillip realized he didn't have as much power as he thought he would being the husband to the Queen. That's supposedly why there is such a large, 9 year gap in age between Anne and the next two sons.

But, who really knows? :confused3 There are 2 books out on Meghan already, and neither author has even personally met her.

I love The Crown on Netflix and I would really like to know how accurately the way his attitude and philandering is portrayed. It may be accurate or it may be exaggerated for dramatic effect. I would think being the husband to the sovereign would take some getting used too. Planning to be the spouse of the sovereign and actually being the spouse of the sovereign are likely two very different things.

Maybe she was ready to be home and comfy in her pjs/old sweats and hair up and not having to be 'on' for hospital staff.

At least at home, she has her privacy and close personal staff or even her family to help.

Her mom also stayed with her and helped her after the first one was born. :thumbsup2 I don't know about for second one.

I hope it is Michael-after her own Father. I am glad that she has stood her ground and has her parents help her with her children.
If William does not want to be King-would it go to his children or would it skip to Harry? I can see Harry turning it down.
Did anyone see William sitting next to the Queen at her birthday party Saturday night? He really had a worried look on his face.
I wonder if Kathryn was already showing signs of being in labor.
The chances of William abdicating the throne is about nil.

It goes Charles, William , George, Charlotte, the new baby and then Harry.

In 2013 a new law? was in place so Charlotte didn't lose her spot or it would have gone to the next boy.

I believe that's the Queen's uncle who abdicated the throne.

His name was Edward. However, I looked it up, and within the family he went by David (one of his 6 other names!) Didn’t know that. But so what?

Without knowing a lot of the details, I think it’s quite chivalrous that he gave up the throne to be with the woman he loved. Ironically, an American divorcee, which is exactly what Prince Harry is doing (though he’s not the direct heir of course). Anyway, I was just thinking that St. David is the patron saint of Wales, to which they have a connection and I happen to like the name. But we shall see.

Glad to hear mother and baby are doing well. I bet George and Charlotte were excited to meet their little brother.

Charles, William, George, Charlotte, Baby, Harry.

First time that a girl has stayed ahead of her brother in the succession line (in the British monarchy, it has, of course, happened in other monarchies).

Like his brother was known as Albert (or Bertie) but was King George.

Yes, that I knew (because I saw The King’s Speech, LOL). So apparently reigning monarchs, like popes, can choose a different name other than their birth name, which makes it somewhat confusing.

Whereas, Edward used his actual real first name and was officially King Edward VIII for the short time he reigned. When you consider all the thought that goes into choosing an appropriate royal name with good history, it seems odd that they can then throw it away and change it when they become king or queen.

My comment wasn't my personal opinion against the name itself or even the events surrounding the abdication. The royal family's official stance seems to be avoid ruffling feathers and shining a light on less than positive aspects. Considering the Duke's questionable involvement with Nazi party officials it might be considered wise to avoid stirring unwanted controversy by giving the baby that name.

His brother Albert was attempting to bring a sense of stability back and chose his regnal name to signal a continuation of the stability of his father's reign.
