Through all of September or just part of it?
All. Wamp wamp.
Through all of September or just part of it?
Just so you guys know conflicting information just came out for Mission Space refurb--this straight from Disney Parks Blog:
https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...s-begins-at-mission-space-in-august-at-epcot/
Sooooooooo Disney is saying August...but no actual opening date yet. This does match what was said at D23 where it was mentioned "next month" (which would be August) that Mission Space would reopen with the new features. However, it does contradict an earlier story that was floating around that the refurb would extend through September and possibly even part of October.
So yeah..this one I guess we'll have to see on. But I feel like it would lesson the sting of having things closed. It would mean 4 things instead of 5 things closed for our trip so I've got some cautious hope here.
I totally hear ya. I was saddened to hear the news and saw that either on the News Round Up thread or the D23 thread over the weekend (or sometime last week) but then I saw on D23 video "next month" and then thought "well that's weird" but then we've got this just in Disney Parks Blog also saying August.Oh well then I guess tbd.

It's annoying but if you go to rivers of light and then select show in my plans. It comes up every night in September with the time 815pm. October is goes back to every other.
Hmm, I was checking under the dining option for ROL packages and there's nothing there. I wonder if they plan on opening any more of those up in coming days.
.I have a question that has nothing to do with September. Is there any advantage to doing the online check in, like, 60 days in advance? I wasn't going to do it until, you know, a couple nights before. But Touring Plans says 60 days. Any particular reason?
Is there any reason later in September to use a FP for ROL? I really don't want to give up one of my initial three on an evening show.
I'll be at EMM that day too....our first full day in the parks! We plan to meet Elena/Cindy @ 9, if that's quick, we most likely will jump next door to the other 2 princesses, or hit up Ariel.....then to breakfast to PVH around 9:30.CRT for 9/3 dinner. its our last full day. We are doing EMM and fantasyland most of the day, and figured our last dinner in the castle would be a nice punctuation on the trip.
I wish I knew the right answer on this. I've read various opinions and would suggest it truly comes down to preference. @GADisneyDad14 wrote a nice post a while back (can't remember the thread) about the "pros/cons" of it. I was actually leaning towards not doing the online check in. That way I could simply experience a piece of Disney as a "newby".....it would be one thing I didn't actually plan ahead. If someone can give me a few good reasons to check in early, I'd appreciate it.I have a question that has nothing to do with September. I did the same thing for my day at AK. I booked the TH ROL package for dinner. Well worth the extra $5 IMO.I'm going early Sept, but we were doing a breakfast at Tusker House anyway and it was only $5 more per person to make it a ROL dining package, so that's what we did and what I would suggest if you plan on eating there, anyway! Then you can save the FP for something else!

Lol, I wonder what I said! HAHA!
Personally I don't think there is a right or wrong answer when it comes to online check in. Really more of a personal preference thing. I wasn't into it at first but have pretty much converted to doing it every time now. But I could really go 50/50, no strong feeling one way or the other.
One thing I'd note, doing online check-in doesn't necessarily mean you have to bypass the front desk. Sure, you can, but you don't have to. I typically do both as I like to hear whatever the CM has to say, chat a bit, get any paperwork, etc. Doing online check-in will speed up the physical check-in part a bit.
You get the mugs at quick service part of hotel not front desk. Definitely not your room. Your magic bands tell the check out people at quick service that you are entitled to them. Thanks for the responses! Good to know! I think I'll probably go with the dual strategy of online check in (when it gets closer, not 60 days out) as well as visit the front desk for the exact reasons GADisneyDad mentioned, if it's not crazy busy. I've got the dining plan. I probably have to stop at the front desk, anyway, to get my free mugs. I wonder if I do online check in they'll be waiting for me in my room?
Regardless, thanks for the responses.
My head hurts. Fast pass day is Friday and this week I've been nailing plans down. Canceling and changing around adrs. Trying to make my touring plans. It's like a Rubik's cube!

I'm still doing that even after booking my FPs. I might have them all set by the time we land in Orlando

My FP day is one week from today!! I'm not messing with my plans anymore until I get those made. I don't think my brain could handle it.
