I am cool with the TA folks getting good deals....its part of the job...I paid 2500 bucks for this cruise for 2 adults and 2 kids in a category 12! I am also spending 7 days prior at CSR but got the 7 days for 4 days deal (3300 without air from L.A.)....I figure it works out....

I have been a food and travel writer- TV host for a few years now....in the beginning you hardly make much money, but you get to eat really well and take some fun trips at a reduced cost... I barely broke even the first few years (I have a "real" job to pay the bills)....but my wife was always ok with it, cause we got to do some pretty fun things so I could write about them.....

oh if I tell my son you are a host of any food related show he will go crazy--he is always glued to the food channel!!

If you went to a nice restaurant to eat and payed $100 and heard everyone around you talking about only having to pay $50, you would most likely feel like you were taken advantage of.

Well if those who were getting a discounted dinner were there to experience the restaurant in order to promote it to other diners, hence earning money for the restaurant, I would not feel taken advantage of at all that I paid full price! And since it's my job to sell travel, if a company like Disney wants me to experience their ship at a reduced price and then go home and sell it to my clients, then I will take advantage of that perk. Sorry if you feel bad. I think a Disney cruise is worth paying more for anyway, but I won't tell you what we paid, because that will probably make you feel worse. Have a great cruise!

I have been on Iron Chef, was in Feasting on Asphalt with my friend Alton Brown and then hosted my own series called the Hungry Detective....I have done a few other things as well....I am in talks about writing a monthly column about food for a cruise magazine starting in 2010....that will be fun!

We booked last week, also with the TA rate. Our first Disney cruise, and we're going without children. Looking very much forward to it, after 30+ WDW trips!

You can count me in for the FE if we get enough people--maybe everyone who has posted can say yes or no and based on number wanting to do it someone can decide. It's always fun to come back and find the surprises.

I would be onboard with the FE Ex....but really couldn't organize it b/c I have two stroller swaps and they keep me very busy!!

If we are going to do it, we should get it together soon cause we've got to stock up on goodies!!

even with a few cabins we can do the FE if everyone wants. We would need cabin numbers, and names and ages of the children in the cabins. Also a place to meet the first day is a good idea-last time those who upgraded at the port needed to update their cabin number for the exchange.

did you get the dining plan? For a week at the park that seems to be a huge money saver.

Nothing was showing on the DCL site.

I just looked and a cat 4 and 8 were still showing up.

However to book the TA rate - it is all sold out. They only release so many rooms for us and once they are gone they are gone.

From my understanding they needed to fill these ships due to the Summer with the stars contract and they didn't get them filled like they had hoped...... so they gave us TA rates. Doens't happen very often trust me

First Disney Cruise after many WDW trips. We were planning a Feb 2011 DC but with the TA special...don't have to wait that long.
