The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 27

Thanks for posting the link, Bernadette!

I had an absolute tantrum last year because DH, DS, and our 2 friends were just SITTING in AK. They weren't waiting for a parade, nobody was in the restroom, our entire party was there and they were just sitting. I came unglued. It was sweltering hot. At the very least we should have been en route to something air conditioned! That really was not a good day. I have to feel like I am at least moving towards a goal at all times. Sitting for no good reason does not make me feel like I am moving towards a goal. It wasn't late enough in the day for them to be just sitting, and they weren't planning the next thing. I can't do that. Our one friend got his knickers in a knot because I "took too long" to get back from Guest Relations with the coupon for a free Everest ride photo, yet he plopped down and just sat there once we were all back together and COULD have been going to do or see something!:sad2:

I don't spend a lot of time sitting in the parks doing nothing. Though it doesn't sound too bad. I dislike the doddling when walking from atraction to atraction. If we know where we're headed lets go.

I must say one of my good memories from my May trip was the last night when we decided to just hang out in the park-around the castle while the crowd departed. We watched the goodnight kiss or what ever they call that light show thing on the castle. It was nice just sitting down. BUT...it wasn't like there were any rides or anything we could do.

I did some math on the meal plan and with 1 adult/1 child I could get the numbers to work for the 3 meal plan BUT.....I don't think I want to. I don't want to spend that much time eating or eat that much. I think the "regular" dining plan will definately work for us. Joe wants to do CP breakfast, Chef Mickey's dinner, Garden Grill dinner, and Japan dinner. With him at $9.99 I think the plan would work for us but I'll have to see what kind of AP discount I would be giving up vs any room discount I might get without AP. Since we'll probably stay at POP I think the DDP will be the way to go. I guess I really need to do a color coded matrix of fun for this trip and figure out my dining and make ADR's!!!!!

I almost bought airfare today. I really want to go Sun Jan 6th to Fri Jan 11th. It is $144 down and $114 return. I think I should just go ahead and purchase at those prices. I could have purchased Sun Jan 6th when it came out about 6 weeks ago at $89 but I didn't want to purchase 1 way tickets. I could go Mon to Sat for $20 less but I'd rather just go the dates I want. I was hoping to use frequent flyer ticket for 1 ticket but I don't have enough points from the credit card yet so I think I should just buy these tickets and use the frequent flyer ticket for some other trip. I could always get a credit if the rates drop. I have a $20 credit from my Nov trip.

So if CP breakfast is our TS meal of the day @ $18.99/adult + $10.99/child that is $29.98. We would pay $47.98/day for the 2 of us. Less $8/day for snacks would be about $40 less the $30 for CP breakfast would be 2 CS meals for $10.

For Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill dinner it would be $40.98 for the 2 of us so the DDP would definately work for that day. Japan would be even better.

I would just need to pick one other TS meal. I was thinking about Brown Derby for Fantasmic Package but I would do that OOP. And Joe LOVES Sci Fi but that is another OOP meal as I do lunch.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! All of your good wishes worked! The outcome of the issue is in my favor!!!

that does sound like the old silver plan. After reading her blog I am still unsure. But since our trip wont be till aug or sept 2010 I have time to think about it.
And it will probably change by then. ;)

Hi Jen

Night Bernadette

Tammi :yay:

We will stick with the 1 CS 1 snack and 1 TS plan.

Well, I've got the full blown sinus/congestion thing going. I was miserable today at work. I've taken some allergy meds so I hope I unstuff before trying to sleep.

Hi!!!

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. We had a great birthday.

Dana brought me roses even though we agreed to no presents this year. 3 yellow, 3 red, 3 pink, & 3 white.

The kids made us a birthday party. We hadn't been allowed in the dining room all weekend as they were making our surprises. They had made us a pinata out of a paper bag, a pin the tale on the monkey game, & goody bags. Everything was made/drawn by them with monkeys on it since we were born in the year of the monkey. It was the sweetest thing they have ever done for us. I have to keep this thought in my head the next time they are all fighting with each other & I want to pull my hair out.:lmao:

20 more days til Disney!

I was looking at the posible changes to the DDP in 2008 too & I think we are going to get the DDE card. I don't want to have 3 sit down meals a day & the DDP was way too much food for us anyway.

I am hunting for airfare for April.....

Everyone who is sick, I hope you are on the mend.

Tammi,
I am glad you got the good news you were hoping for!
