Try to think of it as the enlightenment era! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And the Mickey that we see today is a MOUSE just the original Mickey (Which I would like to see more pictures of, especially when I'm finished this book - FYI never buy an abridged version of anything Disney, what was I thinking?!?!)

Better than that amusement park in China that tried to pass Minnie off as a "big-eared cat". :sad2:

*The moving walkways to get on and off the rides scare me. I'm clutsy by nature, usually carrying a child and ATM I'm pregnant so the thought of tripping scares me.

*Winnie the Pooh is one of my favorite rides, luckily it is my dd's favorite.

*I don't like on Alice and Wonderland how when you reach the end of the ride, the cars hit you hard from behind until it's your turn to get off. I think it should be on the not preggo friendly list.

*The lady bug, tea cups, at CA rattle a lot more than they spin.

*While I usually don't like hot dogs, I think they taste great at Disneyland!

*On my 5 day trip to dlr I spent a LOT of time in my hotel room at the Grand. Wasted ton of park time but just napping on their comfy beds or watching a movie while eating chocolate covered strawberries, made my day.

I'll pretty much go on any ride.. but the stinger freaked me out, I didn't want to ride it... But my youngest son wanted to ride it this time, and he needed a rider to go with him, so I went, it still kinda freaks me out. I am afraid the swings will come loose, one reason I never rode them at the State Fair.

I am still to freaked to go on Mailboomer.. good thing my kids are so little, there is no need for me to go on it.. hehe.

I do love Screamin and all the rest of the bigger rides.

The Veggie Po Boy at Riverbelle Terrace sucks! I spent over $30 for lunch and couldn't eat mine!

I have never ridden the ships on the river nor the canoes.

I've never watched it's tough to be a bug.

I LOVE the electric parade and am upset I have always missed it as an adult, my kids have never seen it as I won't bear the crowds to do it.

I hate that Winnie the Pooh ride kicked out the Country Bears

I hate Pirates of the Carribean.. THE MOVIE.. because of the feme way of Depps Character.. turned me off to the whole thing. I loved loved loved the ride.. now I bear through it pretending his character wasn't so femmie.

Oh.. I am one who does wear a poncho when riding GRR and get laughed at.. but I am the one laughing after they are complaining about getting wet.

Shijingshan Amusement Park is more like the creepiest place on earth!

All I can say is... SERIOUSLY?!?!?

That was a crazy site!

Don't they have the stairs that lead to nowhere? Just an empty platform?

But, it has NOTHING to do with Disneyland ... so they say. ;)
Funnily enough, after Japanese and American media outlets grasped news of the story, the park president was quick to dismiss the rumors and the 'Disney' coincidence, arguing that everything original. Within a few days, all of the characters that "looked like" Disney characters were removed and they even removed a sign that said "Disneyland is too far-- come to Shijingshan!"

There was actually another park in Japan (I can't remember the name, I know it's linked to Shijingshan's wiki article) that also had a very similar layout to DL, but no major story ever broke about it, because it closed a few years ago.

On my last trip I was in the park with a migraine. Taking it easy-
when out of nowhere -
My ds & his gf offered to watch dd3 so I could finally, for the 1st time in 4 trips, go on Screaming-
The single rider line was SO SHORT- I was all over that offer.
Yes I am a die hard... lol
I was on the thing in less than 4 minutes next to some poor unsuspecting stranger.

WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!?!?!? :headache:
I hadn't been on it on it since Dec 2000, so I wasn't expecting I'd be screaming for real... what a jolt!
It was seriously so much fun though- *uhg*
But my head was pounding so badly when I got off- :headache: :faint: and for the next few hours I made many emergency bathroom trips to toss my cookies- what a night...
I made it til about an hour before closing- altho I do not know how.

*Mental note- never do screaming with a pre-existing migraine again.*

My Shameful Disney Secret:

I LOVE the Haunted Mansion. But...

...I HATE the Pop Up Ghosts.

Seriously. I close my eyes during most of the graveyard scene. Just because I'm scared of those nasty Pop Up Ghosts.

*waits for everyone to point and laugh*

I was creeping on the other DIS boards and came across this thread.

And so DISers... what's your Shameful Disney Secret?

Mine:

I cannot stand IASW!

Your turn!

I don't undestand what all the fuss is about Doll Whips. Boring overpriced ice cream. Give me Ben and Jerry any day. Also I like Costco Churros better $1 :rolleyes1

I love HM as well and I'm not a big fan of things jumping out at me either. (I was there the summer they had the guy in the suit of armor wandering the hall of doors. I remember seeing the suit standing there against the wall and thinking 'that looks new' and then it walked right up to the Doom Buggie, reached for us and said boo! That scared the crap outta me :scared1: http://www.doombuggies.com/myths3.php ) I'm glad that the attic pop ups were removed and the ones in the graveyard are so slow now, it's not a surprise anymore.

So I was thinking of another secret because I love this thread and think it's a crack up.

I love the "carnival type" rides at DCA. The Orange Stinger, Golden Zepher etc;
I don't let my kids ever ride rides at the State Fair of mall carnival because frankly any ride that has traveled on the back of a truck and can be assembled in few hours scares the bejeepers out of me. And don't even get me started on the people that work the carnival.

So even though they may not be thrill rides or even cool, it was great to be able to take my kids on some of those rides and feel a sense of security.

I've never let my kids ride the carnival rides at fairs either! I think they go up and down so many times there have got to be a few parts lost along the way. And they go up so fast and are so expensive!

I told my kids Disneyland is a better deal. "But we aren't going to Disneyland this year, mom."
"Well, when we do, it will be a better deal." ;)
And so, skip ahead to us at DLR in DCA where I say, "What's the point of those rides? They're just like rides you can ride at any fair." You know, like those rides that I would NEVER go on in a million years! :rotfl:

PS- Piglet is a pig! :rotfl2:

I remember that guy in the suit of armor too!!! Actually, I could be mistaken, but I thought they had him there for more than one summer, like off and on, here and there. In any case, I saw the armor and also thought something was amiss, and then noticed the Knight inside was lunging at Doom Buggies. Ours was skipped, thank the Lord!!! I think he was hitting every other one, or every 3rd Buggy, moving forward and sticking his arm towards the Buggy and apparently actually touching the riders inside, even if accidentally. I heard screams coming from in front of us and behind us. I also do not like things popping out at me (you will NEVER find me in one of those houses of horror like the House of Shock around Halloween!!), and I actually thought it was a little daring for Disney to let the guests be subjected that kind of a shock in an established, familiar ride, along with allowing him to touch the guests a little bit. It seemed like it was crossing a little bit of a line for them - maybe on Halloween, I could see it, but not in July!! Perhaps they realized it was not a good idea to have real people in the ride scaring the guests and that's why he is gone.

Teacups - Nauseating beyond belief.

Tikki Room - Former POW torture chamber.

Monsters, Inc. - Mind numbing.

IASW - Secret CIA nightmare inducer.

That sounds...horrible! I'm SO glad I never experienced that :scared1:

Seriously! I would have died if anything actually jumped out at me on HM!!!

HM is about the scariest haunted thing I'll go on! I was like 10 or 11 and my family decided it would be a good idea to go to a haunted house for Halloween! BAD IDEA!!! I had a major panic fit and screamed bloody murder so bad - they Ummmmmm.... Welllllllll.... They had to turn on all the lights in the place and escort me out of there!!!

So going on Haunted Mansion at Disney is quite a stretch for me anyway!!! Oh my gosh! I'm going to be so paranoid this summer when I visit!!!

I am so glad others remember the knight inside the HM! I have told people about that and how freaky it was, but they never seem to believe me! Wasn't that in the 80s? I think you have to put some extra warning signs up if you introduce something new like that ... part of the fun of the HM is that it's spooky but can't really get you!
