I do not mean any disrespect to you, or the people who want to go and stated they are still going, and the only thing I can think of is that this hasn't started to hit your areas yet the way it is in mine. If it did, the very last thing on your mind would be leaving your house right now or encouraging others to do so also.
We are about two hours from both NYC and Philly, both are hit hard. We are on lockdown for all non life sustaining businesses, my family members are out of work and having to rely on paid vacation time to get through before they can apply for unemployment, our grocery stores are largely bare, they do get shipments but not everything gets stocked so it's hit and miss to find what you need or want. People line up in the mornings before store open and then crowd in together to try to get needed supplies, how's that for social distancing? No necessary cleaning supplies to speak of, we have active cases in our town so we wear gloves to go out if we have to go to the store, and now that it's here we have some masks if we need to leave the house. My nephew's friend has a fever, cough, fatigue, chills and has tried three times to get a test and still hasn't. NOTHING is open, no restaurants (limited take out), bars, movie theaters, malls, arenas. Our rest stops are even closed, and they've stopped transportation vans from my town into NYC to try to get a handle on this.
I am genuinely confused as to why someone would still want to leave their house with all this going on, potentially putting themselves and/or others in danger of spreading it.
/\ This times 1000! We are only 5 days into our state's lockdown and everything is drastically different. We have two deaths in my state, our county's cases tripled overnight. The more it spreads, the more restrictions we have. This is the reality. I cancelled our May trip because I don't think anything will be anywhere near resolved by then.
Be safe everyone.
