I have been to Disney many times. I am planning on celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary (mid-August) one night at CL Boardwalk (husband's choice). Because of availability, we are moving to the Poly CL for another four nights, the next day. I enjoy eating at the restaurants, but sometimes, it's irritating to break the day to eat. I'm wanting a less structured vacation. Right now, I have the following:
First night (Boardwalk stay): I have California Grill at 7:00, staying for fireworks. We've done this before, and I like it, but because of proximity, I am thinking of dumping it and making one for Schula's. We can watch the Epcot or HS fireworks from outside the park, if we choose.
Next day, I have early entry with breakfast to HS. Then, I have 6:00 at Brown Derby. I know this gets mixed reviews, but we like it. I'm thinking of dumping it because it's heavy, and we may want to ride rides after. There's nothing worse than getting on RR right after eating here, and yes, my husband will want to do it. Also, I have made a TS at Brown Derby for literally 15 minutes later (got caught in a rain storm at a meal time). So, I'm thinking we can eat at a lounge or get in at the last minute.
Next day, I have a 1:00 Tiffins River of Light package. Again, we like flame tree a lot, and I've never really explored Harambi Market. So, I'm thinking about letting this go too, but I've never seen Rivers of Light and I will not wait 30-45 minutes just to get a good seat. Nor will my husband tolerate using a fastpass for it.
Next day, we are going to the first Halloween party. I have a late breakfast at Kona and then Diamond Horseshoe at 4:10. I have never eaten here before because it's always closed, so this is more of a curiosity reservation. I'm again thinking of dumping both and just hanging out at the resort or maybe going to Disney Springs. Not having a reservation let's us play stuff by ear, which is appealing. If I can't get in anywhere, Captain Cooks and the bar at the pool are fine, eaten at both. Also, I've had pretty good luck getting into Skippers and the Plaza day of.
Finally, we haven't decided which park to go the last day. I think my husband wants to go back to HS, but if we don't, we'll probably go back to the MK (which is where I want to go). So, I haven't really made firm reservations this day. Again, HS has the lounges and places on the Boardwalk, and I've had good luck day of at MK, and the counter service there is fine.
So, I'm thinking of spending more time in the clubs and not having to stop touring just to make a reservation. Okay to ditch as outlined, or would you keep them?
