What films put a lump in your throat?

Step Mom

The thought of loosing everything, your husband, your kids, your life

Fluke

You die, you come as a dog to watch over your family, and the you have to leave and let them have a life without you :sad::sad::sad::sad::sad:

A lump in my throat? It's A Wonderful Life comes to mind.

Full on blubbering? Steel Magnolias. When I was young and saw that movie for the first time in the theater, I was a mess. But I love the relationship between M'Lynn and Shelby so much that I swore I would name my future daughter Shelby. And I did. Little did I know that my DD would have health issues. Now I can't watch that movie without becoming a total mess.

The hardest cry I've ever had in the theater was Marley & Me. People were running out of the theater during "that" scene. I was sobbing so hard that I wasn't able to hide it. But the whole place was blubbering with me.

"Without a trace".

When the child is rescued and the cops from NJ insist on escorting him home. That whole sequence on the highway up until he is reunited with his mother...

I get misty eyed just remembering it

I love the ending of this movie! I made a DVD of favorite movie moments and this is on it.

The list is endless. The latest one is Hatchi the dog with Richard Gere. I know that isn't the real name of the movie, but its really close! I saw Simon Burch(sp) yesterday and DS asked me why I always watch when I know it makes me cry!

I also got choked up for this movie. Very sad.

The bucket list.... When jack Nicholson is doing the eulogy

And then any movie where the dad sacrifices himself for the daughter and her boyfriend. That is just because I always get mad because the girl can get a new love (people do it ALL the time) but you never can get a replacement daddy.....

Another good one! The Bucket List!

Definitely Marley & Me. I agree with the poster who said its the hardest she ever cried in a movie.
Hope Floats when the little girl is hysterically crying when her daddy leaves.
Step Mom. The ending.
When a Man Loves a Woman. When that movie came out I was in the process of breaking up with my alcoholic boyfriend. So many things hit home in that movie.

I can't watch Simon burch ever again. I teach and I was gone for a contest for a few days. The class had been talking about true leadership so I left that movie. They didn't quite finish it and it was my plan for them to watch the very end when I came back. That monday I was back there was a death in the family....a young military cousin that was in his first tour. It was devasting for our whole small community. Anyways, we obviously didn't watch it. It was high school kids (and beginning of december) but we colored pictures and watched polar express and had good cries. Later on that year they asked if we would watch the ending and I told them I just couldn't because of the ending. They immediately caught on and were crying anyways at the ending of Simon without ever watching it.

The Secret of NIMH where Justin pulls Mrs. Brisby away from the block that is sinking. Kills me! :guilty:

You just blew my mind!!! God I loved that movie!

There are so many movies that make me cry. The notebook had me sobbing though. Full on ugly cry!!

Most recent St. Vincent (Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthey)

Barbra Striesand's movies (most recent re-run) Funny Girl (James Caan and Omar Sherif (sp?)

Love Story (Ryan O"Neil and Ali McGraw)

Life is Beautiful.
I actually went to the movie with 2 guys. And I think they actually cried more than I did.

Oh yes, Simon Birch is one too.

Steel Magnolias.

I always tear up during Armageddon-- when Bruce Willis takes Ben Affleck's spot-- and Liv Tyler loses her dad but the man she loves is saved.

Some that come to mind, The Piano and Magnolia. Takes a lot for me to cry. Also Lady and the Tramp lol That is all that come to mind

Stepmom with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. Great movie. Loved how it was about the kids and not the man.

My Sisters Keeper with Cameron Diaz. As a mom, I can I only imagine having to fight to keep my child alive. Great movie, but gets me every time.

Terms of Endearment... GIVE MY DAUGHTER THE SHOT :sad1:

Agree with many others about Without A Trace and the long line of cop cars escorting him home
