What does a million dollar home look like in your area?





Both of these are within a 2 minute walk of my house!!! Over the last few years, builders have purchased older homes and torn them down in order to build these giant houses on teeny, tiny lots. Our house is one of about three on our street that has not had the roof blown off and a giant addition put on or completely torn down and re-built.

There's several more for sale in my immediate neighborhood and plenty that have just recently sold. It's nuts.

There are none in my town, now if you want to talk the Nashville area I got one that will really shock ya if ya want to see a house that's oh about 7 mil.
 
Here's one for almost $2 million. I've been inside this one (DD7 went to pre-school with the child of the builder/owner). It's absolutely gorgeous, though it was built on a busy street across the street from a Kroger. We jokingly refer to it as "Castle Kroger". I can't imagine they will ever get that price for it.

I can't figure out how to post a picture (!)

But here are the details: built in 1976, 2400 sq. ft., 4 bedrooms/3 bathrooms on 1/3 of an acre.

Considering that this is California, I get ill just thinking about prices here. Just a fact: nothing in my neighborhood is under 1.3 million.
