It wasn't all of the flights, where did you get that information? I seriously see dozens and dozens of flights that went out of MCO and are scheduled to go out. I do see 8 flights cancelled out of over 105 flights schedule out of MCO today (I lost count after 105). 2 of those cancellations had connections in New Orleans which is the OP's airport. We don't know if those 8 flights were inspection related, weather related, maintenance related, etc.A single flight being cancelled b/c of equipment happens often. ALL of the SW planes at an airport being inspected at once does NOT. They would generally have another plane to use. They don't right now.
That's why it's a universe apart from normal.
They don't always have another plane to use especially if that was the last flight out at night which would put the passenger on the next available flight which would then be the next day if it was the last flight out.
I understand if you view this as extraordinary circumstances. I do not. It's ok that we don't agree on this aspect.
