Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Dining - Oga’s + All Quick Service Food and Drinks

Right? I think one confusing aspect is that when you book it, the reservation says, 'breakfast, lunch or dinner'. I've booked it for people who insist they will have a meal there, even though I show them the menu AND tell them that it's a bar without anything more than a couple snacks!
Maybe it sounds too much like "canteen" or something and they asume it has food? Or the fact that it takes reservations and, to my knowledge, it would be the only bar on property you need reservations for?
I get that but wouldn't you want to know what they serve? I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where I don't know what is being served before hand, at least in a general sense.

I think there are lots of people who are just not picky so they’re not worried about what’s on the menu food wise. Plus, they realize that it’s primarily a bar, so they figure they’ll have a look at the food menu once they order a drink. They just know it’s brand new, and they need a dining reservation (so food is assumed).

I don't think its crazy to assume there is food since every other lounge at WDW, including Trader Sam's, has a pretty decent selection appetizers/small plates in addition to drinks. I think they calculated the demand would be so high for SWGE they made some bad calls. Like no real food or bar stools at Oga's so they could fit more people in and churn people out in 45 minutes or less. Like committing to EEMH for two months at 3 parks even though that hasn't really been needed for crowd control to date. Like holding back too many walk-up spots that weren't being utilized at Droids, Savis and Oga's and ultimately releasing them to the advance booking system a couple week ago.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they do start offering more food as the land progresses (and bar stools for the high tops).

Just a comparison on the standing, Trader Sam's, the place most like Oga's, is also some seated, somestanding. There are not stools for all
I am not sure stools will ever show up but more food could. Abracabra is another similar bar setting. They started out with no food but do have some now

One thing to remember about both Abracadbra and Trader Sam's is that they have access to a kitchen. Abracadbra can access Flying Fish. Trader Sam's can access Captain Cook's. Given the location of Oga's to Docking Bay 7 or Ronto Roaster, there is no kitchen to share. However, this doesn't mean that if a TS is ever added, it wouldn't be near or sharing space with Oga's. I am not sure what Oga's has backstage for a kitchen area, but lack of access to a kitchen would be the main inhibitor to adding more food.

I like the idea of more food on the menu. I'm a big fan of food, but ignoring the kitchen issue (which seems pretty important), how would it even work? If I can't find a place to set down my drink- what could they even serve that guests can eat while holding a glass?

Meh.....this is DISNEY!

IF THEY want it and others suggest to them it is wanted it can happen, where there is a will there is way!

There in lies one of the MANY HUGE weakness in Oga's, Disney way under calculated the popularity of the place and expecting people to come in, on a HOT, STEAMY day to get squished in like barn animals and to have no place to set your terribly made drinks and stand up the whole time, wow no thanks.....oh and the food is a weird, expensive jello-shot.......really??

Have they restocked the souvenir mugs at Oga’s?

They were in stock when we were there last week. They come and go so there is no way to tell what they'll have on any given day. They were out the week before we left on the Rancor teeth flight but the next week when we were there they had them back in. At least they are restocking quick.

As of Monday 9/30 they had both the Endor Mug and the Porg Mug in stock. I know because we got both of them. I was so relieved they restocked for our trip!

I leave tomorrow and it looks like there’s hope that the Yub Nub mug will be available when I get there. Thanks everyone!

Question on Oga's -- I have a reservation for two for my December trip, but do both of us have to order drinks? I plan on getting one, but my friend has dietary issues and I doubt there is anything she will be able to drink there. Will she be able to join me but not order a drink?

Sure! My preschooler who has a reservation will not be ordering a drink either. I do recommend tipping the bartender extra though. I would also suggest explaining your friend’s dietary restrictions and seeing if they have something safe. It is Disney and they are pretty good about accommodating folks.

We went to Oga's twice on our trip last week. Really enjoyed it both times. Got the 2 mugs on our first visit. Ordered a Fuzzy Tauntaun on our second just to see what it was all about and we loved it.

A couple of things...not everyone has to order a drink. Both times, our daughter didn't get anything and the 2nd time we just split a drink. We also saw more than few people get placed next to us and they looked around, took photos, and left. So there are plenty of people making reservations just to get inside and check the place out.

Would totally recommend going, we had a great time. Also never felt rushed, but they do crowd you in. And the first server encouraged us to take our coasters, which was nice (we were taking them anyway).

And just to clarify if you only want to look around and not order anything there's no need to make a reservation You can approach a CM at the entrance and ask just to go in and take a look and take pictures, they will escort you in. No need to take a spot from someone who actually wants to order

TONS new Oga's drops on my November date. Not sure how widespread it is but it was like every half hour, prime afternoon/evening times included. Check your dates everyone if you want to move your time!!! I just moved mine.
