"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

Yep! Honestly. Here is the exact words, although I left out the hope you have a great trip and other idol chat parts. LOL

"I do understand your concern and as you mentioned, it is difficult to clear out an entire park for these events. Anyone that is not part of the event with a ticket though is not allowed on to any of the rides and attractions so we do give that benefit to just the special event ticket holders. We do try to steer non-event Guests to the main entrance and enjoy maybe some time at Downtown Disney or possibly another theme park if they are still open."

OH MY GAWD. My jaw just dropped.

I'm so mad right now.

What I sent to Disney:

hello, I am emailing with a concern about the Mickeys not so scary Halloween party.
You see my family and I have all booked tickets to the event for Oct 27th this year under the impression it was a ticket only event.
However after reading multiple negative reviews and talking to friends who attended the first party earlier this week we are now concerned.
Out of stock treats before 9:30pm, and only a limited edition of 300 hocus pocous tee shirts are just the tip of the iceberg of things that went wrong.

The main thing we heard though was that NON party ticket guests were not ushered out of the park for the event. Cast members hardly checked bracelets or enforced the ppl who didn't pay the additional charge to leave. They weren't allowed on rides but they didn't leave the park either. This is why the first party was so over crowded because people decided no one was making them leave so they decided to stay and watch the exclusive shows without paying, if asked to leave (very rarely heard anyone comment that anyone was asked) they simply went to another part of the park. There were reports parade had 5 rows of ppl watching with non ticket guest without bracelets in the front not being checked

People paid extra to have this event and not enforcing the rules is highly upsetting
Please start getting cast members to enforce the bracelet check and those who didn't pay get them out.

Thank you for your time I seriously believe cutting it back to only party guests will make things go a lot smoother otherwise you need to refund everyone because it's heading in the direction of a non exclusive event

With a response like that Disney may just have opened the door to some serious refunds. When I purchase those tickets it is with the understanding that I am getting exclusive benefits that only having that ticket will do. From that statement it clearly does not. Not good, not good.

I'm going on the 1st and am tempted to call and ask for a refund and tell them, why should I pay when I can obviously just stay for free. We are there 6 days.

:sarcasm on: Maybe we will just go to every Halloween party during that time instead of just the one that we paid for. :sarcasm off:

This makes me so mad! Besides, I would argue that the parade and stage show, fireworks, etc. are ATTRACTIONS! One of the reasons we bought the tickets was to see the parade. I hope you e-mailed them back! That is ridiculous! I gotta step away!

Wow, I hope they get their act together by 10/15 which is my party night. I think I will email them too. Maybe if they get enough emails they will actually do something about it. The people who buy these party tickets don't care so much about the rides, but the special shows, etc. :worried:

Um, am I reading the Disney response right? I DON'T need a ticket if I just want to go for the parade and fireworks? What about the trick or treating? Are they checking bands there? Are you kidding me? How can that be their response? When we went 4 years ago we were practically forced out when the party started. Now they're just going to "try"? I really hope they figure this out before our party. It's not like this was the first time they've done this...

Going to a party on Oct 15th (my family's first ever MNSSHP) and I really hope that Disney gets their act together before then. I find it completely unfathomable that in 3 hours time (4PM-7PM) they cannot clear out the people without wristbands. There is no excuse for it at all. The fact that they seem to be so nonchalant about people staying for the best part without a ticket (because to me the parade/fireworks/stage show is the best part) irritates me so much I want to scream. After the extra hours I have put in at work to make sure I can afford to take my family on this vacation and to this event, it is completely unacceptable for non ticket holders to be allowed to stay simply because they may purchase something to help pad the Disney pockets. And to think I switched my whole trip to be able to include the party. If this happens while I am there then I will be spending a lot of time at Guest Services by the look of it.

Sorry for the rant everyone. :badpc:

I am on the Walt Disney page but wondering who you would contact. Those who are sending in emails, what address are you using? TY

We were there for the 1st show of
hocus pocus And I did see CM looking
For bands they had 3 sweeps befor show time. The 1st time about 12-18
Guest got up and left on the 2nd maybe 2-3 on the 3rd there was a few and the CM had to get a lady in a red shirt to get these guest to leave.

Been to about 6 of these party's over the years it's hard to clear everybody out heck I do flooring
And even with big caution signs
And stuff you still get the guy that has to go that way sad but true.

We did about 7 rides that night and only a few they we're checking bands.

Hope to do one more this month
And hope it will be better.

Ron

I'm not calling anyone out, but I really think people should calm down a minute. Unless you were there, you really shouldn't be contacting Disney yet. It was one party, the FIRST party, and do you really know that they weren't trying to escort people out. I've worked in retail before and cannot imagine the stress and anxiety of the Disney employees in a situation like that. I think that after a few more reports saying the same thing we should have concerns but its still too early in the game for me to jump to conclusions and assume they just don't care and are letting anyone stay, ect. Some people don't have parties till late in Oct and they're screaming and crying to Disney about a situation they know:rolleyes1 nothing about since they weren't there!

I sent a message yesterday morning through Contact Us. My message was also polite, but I did mention that we had already purchased tickets for our first MNSSHP and that I was disappointed to hear that guests without party tickets/wristbands were allowed to watch the parade, castle show and fireworks, effectively making it more crowded and difficult for guests who had purchased tickets to view these events.

I specifically mentioned the parade, show and fireworks because it's not good enough for Disney to check for wristbands at attractions and not enforce getting non-party guests out of the park.

I have not yet received a response. I think the only way Disney will do something about this (e.g., allocate enough CM resources, provide instructions to CMs) is if they get enough complaints.

I feel soooooo bad for Disney that it's so difficult to clear out the park! At least they're trying! :sad2:

Really? I don't feel soooooo bad for them at all! Half heartedly telling some people without wristbands that they should leave while ignoring all the rest, and only policing the rides, is not trying.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. Is there an emoji for that? :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention. If Disney gets bombarded with emails from people who weren't even there complaining, it's again taking away from those that were there and need to contact them for legitimate reasons.
