"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

They usually do a good job, this is the first time in the three years I've been going that they haven't done as well.
We've been to 2 Christmas and two Halloween parties and all 4 had seemingly strict enforcement of multiple wrist band checks/CM sweeps of lands and out of the parks. Boggles my mind to hear "well it's the first party they'll work the kinks out". They do these multiple multiple times each and every year!?!?

I'm guessing there are a whole bunch of CMs who have never worked this event before (new CPs or CMs just picking up shifts for extra hours) who haven't had the proper training in what to do with people without wristbands. That training needs to come from management, they need to make sure the CMs are aware they need to check wristbands constantly, and escort people to the exit (or at least use a CM to CM method to herd them out). I almost wonder, if my friend had approached a CM and told them the people sitting next to them didn't have tickets, would the CMs have felt confident enough to actually have them removed? I don't really know.

If I had to guess there were a lot of rookies at the first party. I think if there was a good seasoned pairing with someone who was new to it they would of ran smoother. I can honestly say I've never even seen the pin store that crazy and unorganized and I've been here during 4th of July.

We had a CP dinner reservation on night we were not attending a MVMCP as we couldn't get ADR for the night we actually had party tix. Following our dinner we were escorted through a hidden side exit down a street behind Main Street which brought us out that gate between guest services bldg. and emporium. The CMs pointed us toward exit and left us. Several people who were in the group went right over to watch the parade instead of leaving.

I just hope all this negative feedback is getting to the right people at Disney, the ones with the power to make changes fast. Sometimes I feel like the guests are all mad and Disney is too busy patting themselves on the back to notice.

So just to be clear, they are offering the one night memory maker? If so where would i purchase it?
Thanks

I was trying to purchase the one day Memory Maker and the consensus seemed to be yes, BUT not yet... which makes absolutely no sense. I asked at the TTC and the CM said it was not available in her system. I asked her to ask someone else as I had the screenshot that smicth had posted where DisneyPhotoPass said it would be available. She called someone and was told not until 9/24 (which I didn't know at the time wasn't a party date).

I also went to Guest Relations inside the park and asked, the CM had to go ask a supervisor-type, and the response I got there was not until the October parties.

Soooo... I guess it depends on when you are going and how quickly they roll the 1 day MM out?? I'd love to hear what answers other people got since I got two totally different answers.

I spoke to someone who was there for the Night of Joy and they did not see anyone with out wrist band so how were guests without tix kept out those nights???

Night of Joy is a Christian music event right? Maybe guests were just more ethical and not greedy, or maybe it just wasn't as enticing to the general public?

Haha.... my thoughts exactly. I am also an adult that will be attending without kids as I have done a couple times in past years. And it is fun to do the trick or treating part as I get to do alot of people watching.... it's great to see kids and adults in costumes, etc!! But... I will not stand in line just to get candy! :rolleyes1 I plan to hit the ToT stations as I'm walking to the next attraction/event/ride/whatever!!

That's how I did the ToT last year BUT I discovered they give out a candy bar we don't have back home - can't remember the name but it's very plan looking brown wrapper. Like chocolate and peanuts. I loved it! So kinda might have to suck it up this year and change my planning cause of it hah

The difference is that for that event the park actually closes down, clears out, and then opens up to ticket holders.

I don't know if it would have had an impact, but I go to UCF, (University of Central Florida) and in our school newspaper there was a section that described fun events to attend for the week, and the first MNSSHP on the 15th was listed. Perhaps college students that had some free time and money were able to attend, which perhaps would have contributed to the high crowd level.

Were they Goldenberg's Peanut Chews?

I sent my concerns to Disney by email. I did it very politely and told them I understand how difficult it is. The response was they do keep non wristband people out of the rides and attractions. I even mentioned in my email, that I knew that, but not many go to the event for that stuff anyway. Oh well at least they know of my concerns.

They actually sent that to you in response. Really? Like, really??? SERIOUSLY???

Yep! Honestly. Here is the exact words, although I left out the hope you have a great trip and other idol chat parts. LOL

"I do understand your concern and as you mentioned, it is difficult to clear out an entire park for these events. Anyone that is not part of the event with a ticket though is not allowed on to any of the rides and attractions so we do give that benefit to just the special event ticket holders. We do try to steer non-event Guests to the main entrance and enjoy maybe some time at Downtown Disney or possibly another theme park if they are still open."
