The Dolphin has seperate check-in for Starwood members, its located right beside the regular check in area. If someone could please help me know where the self parking lot is located... Thanks...

Mom Poppins....the best way I can tell about self-park is that it is in front of the convention center part of the resort. it is a hike from the front of the hotel :/

after you pull into the resort to check in, under the awning....you'll continue to go straigh and the self-parking is on the left. I am pretty sure there are signs. I never drive on vacation, though...that's DH job

surely someone has better directions than I do, LOL!

so, so sad about the CM killed yesterday.

This one is easy for me, Debbie...as I LOVE the self-parking at the Dolphin. Have your DH pass the MAIN entrance to the Dolphin, then make a RIGHT at the next entrance (just past the Main), make ANOTHER immediate & quick "RIGHT" into the parking area, then an Abrupt LEFT. Follow the little road (runs adjacent to the road you entered on) all the way to the TOP (as if you are driving straight towards the Dolphin Convention center). You can only turn RIGHT once you reach the end. Make a RIGHT...and park in one of the available FRONT spots on the left (or right if none are open on the left). This makes it EASY to take the stairs right up to the resort, and/or return to the VAN anytime if needed (during your stay). Hope I have not confused you more than necessary! Have fun packing...wish I were leaving right now!

Bambi Tamby~You finally MADE IT here!! So happy to see you over here on our humble S/D thread. We have a wonderful time here, sharing WDW, Swan and Dolphin information and experiences..tips and hints! Kind of like the WL thread, with a fishy influence. Hope you become a "regular", as you are such a sweet and happy girl. You would be a welcome addition...spreading sunshine with your positive perspective (on even the gloomiest winter days!).

So sad about the CM. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

has anyone heard anything about cash & points for the spring? I saw on the *wood thread that someone was able to get the Dolphin this spring. Interesting.

Speaking of Spring, thanks to some unused flight credit on SWA, the stay 5 nights & get a weekend night free promo, and plenty of points....I am booking 2 nights at the Swan for Memorial Day weekend. We are going to get plenty of use out of these APs. YAY! I don't feel bad not bringing the kids, either. They are getting 2 trips to WDW this summer....

YAY!

DF....never mind about my PM from a few weeks ago. I think I have it all figured out now. 1 room, 2 different reservations and rates. I hate it, but not much I can do. I have been guaranteed that I can stay in the same room, which is good.

The lobby bar at the Swan CAN and WILL make a fantastic iced mocha *with a splash of bailey's and kahlua* if you ask!

I just wanted to share this: (I think it's ok Lou, I say Dolphin at least once)
I was a little stressed out about my plans because some relatives decided to join DD and I at the last minute but didn't follow through with making their reservations at the Dolphin, tried to get me to change my plans and stay off site with them , then asked me to make their reservations for them after all . And they gave me an unrealistic price limit. Had to repeat to myself-you cannot orchestrate everyone's happiness several times, went to MouseSavers-Downtown Disney-End of Story

On topic- is it declasse` to have relatives (2 kids 2 adults) visit us at the pool at the Dolphin one afternoon?

Our party went beautifully! I have been wondering for two weeks now where my angels went and who was sitting at the desks in my room. My angels finally returned, just in time for a party, go figure! LOL

I can't wait for our Swan trip in July. Maybe it will be a Dolphin trip in July. This weekend I will NOT be at a westin/sheraton which means no heavenly bed and no oatmeal soap, both major positives for any hotel! No, this weekend I will be enjoying my stay at the ole holiday inn express... known by hockey teams throughout the world as a good place to eat and swim. LOL Oh man.. someone save me now! They also don't have a grotto pool, which the Swan and Dolphin share along with some mighty fantastic quiet/lap pools.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! May the bird and fish welcome us all with open arms, or is open wings and gills?

PS.. I am too slap happy, sorry! I have four days off! WOOO HOOOO! *which won't be at the Swan and Dolphin, but will be spent drinking coffee from a Swan/Dolphin sorority mug which was lovingly created by our own Disbug!

Debbie, how much coffee did you have today? LOL We were off today because Illinois celebrates Lincoln's birthday. I took a break from National Boards and went to the Casino! Lost some money for my trip, but letting loose felt pretty good! Four days.....lucky you. Our parties are tomorrow. Kids will be high all day.

Ozzie>> Get some sleep and good luck tomorrow! I have some leftover diet cokes I can virtually send if you need help coping! Mine were monsters all week, but we finished two weeks of state testing. Everything was GREAT the first few days, then the world seemed to change at our school. I am glad it ended on a good note, I pray that Tuesday will be more of the same! Yes, I did have coffee... I can drink it since I can sleep in an extra two hours tomorrow! NO 5am wakeup!

On topic>> With the Swan and Dolphin resorts you have many restaurants to chose from, plus the entire boardwalk area is at your fingertips!
