Hi All,
Very late, but a short post to tell you that we just returned from a night at the theater......THE LION KING! It was so awesome, I can hardly describe it. I have seen alot of theater, local and Broadway, and I can say I have never seen anything like it. The color, the choreography, the costumes, it was an experience to behold. If you have not seen it, be sure to put it on your list when it comes to your town.

I was so overwhelmed by the amount of prayers and "pixie dust" from all of you. As a newcomer to this thread, I can not express how much I appreiciate your sincere thoughts.
Yesterday, was a tough day. My Dad's surgery went well, however, the blockage was due to a cancerous tumor(s) attached to this colon, gallbladder and liver. The tumors were removed and now we wait the next few days at he pulls through recovery. He's a strong man and I am sure with all your wonderful prayers he will make it.

Lauren~ Enjoy your trip with your Mom. I am so glad to hear that ever though the tests were not encouraging that she'll be able to enjoy your trip. Thanks for the kind words about my Dad.

On a good note: we are planning a trip in December to Disney and Marco Island(our other favorite vacation spot). I'll keep you updated on our plans.

Good morning, sorority sisters and honorary brothers! I am catching up this morning since DS had his friends over to watch the Red Sox / Yankees game so I couldn't get on the computer last night.
Sox 10 - Yankees 5 (Yippee!) Red Sox nation is very happy this am!!

Lauren ~ I wish you and your mom a wonderful trip. What better place for you and your mom to be together but WDW!

Sue~ I'm so happy that your dad's surgery is over. I know how difficult the waiting can be. My P and PD do continue.

DF~ WOW - those night scenes of the Dolphin are terrific! You are a great photographer. The Wonder pics are great, too.

ozzie~ I have been dying to see the Lion King. I have tried a few times to go to NYC but it never came to be. LK is coming to Boston next July. It is definitely on my list! I loved Beauty and the Beast (Broadway show) - I've seen it twice.

We are off to the beach today in Gloucester. DH's cousin has a condo on the beach and invites everyone for a family day. Problem is our weather has turned fall-like for the entire weekend - cloudy with temps around 70. Not a beach day! Oh, well, I'll dig out the sweatshirts instead of the bathing suits.

WITH SISTER TRYING TO LOOK COOL.......

SIXTEEN GIRLS, ONE TENT, TWO TIRED PARENTS LATER! Just finished fixing waffle breakfast for 16 campers. We had a total of 18 girls for the party (2 "day campers"!) 10 more family members and our immediate family for a total of 30 +.

I survived and yes, #1hockeymom, I'm looking forward to that calgon moment! We did have a blast, but NOW I understand why all those mom's were saying "You're so BRAVE"! AAACCCK!

Ozzie>> We almost saw LK in Toronto a few years back, but instead purchased tickets for Phantom as DH hadn't seen it yet. I have now seen Phantom 3x (Detroit/Toronto/London) and still haven't seen LK! I am so glad you gave it such a great review. It is back on my "figure out how and where to see it" list!

Mouseteacher>> While I don't understand baseball per say (remember we have the Tigers), I do understand being a die hard fan! So glad that the weekend worked out well in your house!

Disbug>> YOU LIVED! You took on an awful lot for that party! The pictures came out great and it is evident that everyone had a wonderful time! Here are some bath salts to disappear with and leave everyone else to clean up the mess!

Mike>> I created my own version of the heavenly bed doing a lot of research online at department stores and ebay. Keep comparing the westin heavenly bed photo on the spg website with the "look" you'd like to achieve! I will say the hardest, yet the best purchases I made were the 50/50 pillows (most are less down and more feather) and the down blanket. Charisma has a down blanket that I finally decided had a good enough thread count in order not to be "drowned in down" the next morning! You can buy a good mattress pad/down almost anywhere now, just get the highest thread count and best loft you can find/afford. My duvet cover for my down comforter is a tone on tone tapestry in a golden taupe which is not like the Swan/Dolphin, but gives a similar look. Have fun buying your new linens! If you give up, you can always buy everything online at spg! I believe the link is at the bottom of their main page.

The "boys" are upnorth after loading their quads and their new toy, an old Ford tractor on the trailer, and DD is at a friend's house. The house is left to the dog/cat/guinea pig/fish and me! I can think! I'll be lonely by tonight, but it is sinfully wonderful now!

splashfamily...Sweet, dear sister...Your father and family are in my prayers. Take care of your DF, and nurture him through this. God never gives you more than you are able to handle. So, while this may seem overwhelming, it's well within your capability.
I love the description of your DF as a "STRONG MAN". My DF is one of those as well...and has made it through many health challenges. I'm confident your DF will be fine, especially with all the extra prayers and pixie dust! ****{{{HUGS}}}****

#1hockeymom~You would LOVE the Disney Ships! RC is a beautiful line, but the Disney Ships harken back to the luxury liners like WHITE STAR line, etc. The service is incredible. I know we will be on there again...soon. They are now offering a new 10-night cruise beginning this fall/winter. The itineraries will also begin to shift to the med, and other exotic places. Maybe we should plan a SIGMA~DELTA CRUISE!? Talk about FUN!!!

OZZIE~Saw the LK w/DD's 8th grade graduating class in Los Angeles two years ago. It was astounding! The Priest paid for the entire trip...front row seating, etc. @ the fabulous PANTAGES theater in Hollywood. It was a grand show, colors, costumes and music. The cast is amazing. Have you seen RENT?

Disbug~What beautiful pictures! You have a lovely family! Everything seems to have gone as planned. Hope your DD knows how fortunate she is to have such an innovative and loving MOM! II noticed Barbie's DREAM HOUSE in one of the pics...w/working elevator! I LOVE this house (LOL). ^_^

pkdcoasters~Mike, YES...as a matter of fact, it is the same company whom supplies the mattress: SEALY. The exact items may be purchased directly through the Swan/Dolphin by calling the resort. Ask them to send you the info (Price List). I have a copy somewhere, as I LOVE the Duvet and the pillows. I purchased 6 of the pillows and one sheet set last December. I plan to purchase the down comf./duvet this December on our annual trip to the Westin St. Francis, SF.

Loubon~I HOPE you are still hanging around here! Could you please help me with the "other" new thread? I need someone w/technical expertise to "LINK" the old thread (this one) with the new one! Could you be an ANGEL and help this sister in need? Thank you.

Dreamflight~ loved the Disney cruise ship photos. Awesome describes it! Yes, you were right about the Barbie "Mansion"! It is a fave of DD9's also! I have had a little nap and some dinner and feel about 90% restored!

They're gone, Mouseteacher! (We had fun! But, hoo boy! I am definitely NOT as young as I think I am!) They wore me out! Most importantly, DD9 and her friends had a blast! It will be a family memory! Although, "never again" comes to mind as DH says, "You think maybe next time we can limit this to one or two girls??"

To all teachers: Let me just say, after this experience, I have even more respect and admiration for how you are able to keep our children organized and learning! BRAVO and salute to you all!

Looking for a good rate for Oct 3rd to 5th for MNSSHP, I found a lot of the AP and FL resident rates are already GONE! I have to wait until tomorrow to call Dolphin directly about AP rates. It seems these rates are getting harder to come by. Is it that more people are buying AP's or are they not issuing as many rooms under that rate??
