My buses pet peeve...

Just got back, loved the trip overall but one thing that really bugged me when leaving the resorts. There really isn't a line for the buses but I would think the first people there waiting get on the bus first.

There seemed to always be people who would walk up to the front of the yellow line and wait there then board first or 2nd.

It wasn't a big deal most of the time but one time 2 people did that and were about the only people that got on. Frustrated group once they left but thankfully another bus was right behind it.

And why is it whatever park I'm going to, the bus is always the last one to show up??? :confused3

Oh I hate that there's no line for buses at some resorts. :headache: Pop has roped off lines, why can't the other resorts?
And my bus is always last too. :headache:

Chances are the two people that did get on were standing in a very crowded bus. What was the bus like that showed up right behind? Were you able to get a seat on the second bus?

For the same reason when you are looking for something it is always in the last place you looked.

Look at it this wasy...your bus isn't always the "last bus" it's just the last one you see beacuse you get on! :rotfl2:
Oh...how I feel your pain though:flower3:

My pet peeve is when I am standing, and someones backpack/stroller/ect gets a seat. I don't mind standing, dh doesn't mind standing, but if there is people standing put your dang back pack in your lap so someone else can sit down!

I don't like it when you see an elderly woman or a pregnet woman left to stand while young healthy males take a seat. Come on! Join me and give up your seat!

Technically anytime you are looking for something it will always be in the last place you look, because if you find it, you won't keep looking!:rotfl2:

I know what you mean about the last bus. We typically don't have that problem when going from resort to park. However, it seems like we ALWAYS have that problem when leaving the Animal Kingdom. I know it's just our terrible timing, but I'm pretty sure I've spent more time sitting on the ground at the AK bus stop over the years than I have spent waiting for buses back from all of the other parks combined. :rotfl:

That is so irritating. In spite of the unshaded ques at the values, they do have their upside in that its a regular que with a first come first served type set up.

We gave up on the buses years ago....rental car for us...it is amazingly convenient!!

I agree that people shouldn't use their bags, strollers...to take up seats.
However, I will never understand why people will stand instead of just asking/telling the person to move their stuff.

I always feel the same way.

Last October, we were at Epcot and we walked out through the Boardwalk exit to catch a bus to downtown Disney. Well we had to wiat until the 3rd hbus to downtown Disney because of wheelcharis and ECV. and then we had no idea that the Downtown Disney bus made stops at the Yacht Club, the Beach club and somewhere else. And what was even worse that night the driver did the loop twice. My daughter swears she is never going to the Boardwalk Resot again. Just mentioning it to her gives her the shivers.

This worries me tremendously!!! This is the first trip for us completely relying on the busses. We normally rent a car but decided to give the busses a try this time. It's going to be quite a different trip for us. This one will determine whether or not we rent a car or do busses for all of our next trips!!!

It's kinda like what (someone said, can't remember his last name...a comedian), "no matter what temperature a room is, it's always room temperature".

Keep in mind that you can't always tell from looking at someone if they have a disability. I have balance issues, and while I don't need to sit, it's much easier for me. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me, unless you were watching me for a few minutes, standing up.

There are only so many places for a wheelchair and ECV on a bus...on most buses that is 2, and if both are occupied it takes six seats. I find it hard to believe that you had to wait for three buses because of all the wheelchairs and ECVs, because that means they put the ECVs and wheelchairs in "people" spots and it is against the law to do that, so they don't. If there were that many ECVs or wheelchairs, THEY are the ones that wait until a bus comes with room for them. You had to wait because of all the people, not just ECVs and wheelchairs....even after the wheeled vehicles were loaded there is still a lot of room for people.

I do have to agree with you that DTD buses are not fun....they do seem to come very far apart compared to the park and resort buses and I feel your pain on the long ride...we have taken a cab a few times because it was so much faster.

I've used the buses on my last 2 trips, and plan on using them for my next trip. Although they're not the fastest mode of transportation around the world, you can't beat the price and I've never had any major problems. On my last trip, we were leaving MK after the park had closed and our line for the All Stars bus was incredibly long and not moving. It turned out there was a problem with some of the buses. I didn't mind waiting, although I considered walking until someone told me how far away MK was from the hotel. However, some people went beserk and had to be escorted away. If it hadn't been for those people, the wait would have been much more enjoyable. We met all of the people in line around us and someone had a pack of playing cards, so we got a couple of games going while we waited. Some of the younger kids were sleeping on the sidewalk on top of clothing, bags, etc.

That being said, I'm not going to justify spending the money for a rental car based on one bad experience that could happen anywhere!

I truly wish they would put que's in place at every resort bus stop!!! When my friend and I were at Kidani in Dec, we arrived at the bus stop, and took a seat. There were about 8 or so other people there as well. We were waiting for the bus to DHS. Because the regular bus stops were being worked on, we all had to wait, for all buses, at the DME bus stop...made it rather crammed. Well...bus after bus came..but not bus to DHS. After about 25 mins, one came into sight. Now, by this time there was a huge crowd there. My friend and I saw the bus coming, got up and started walking to the bus. Well...behind us we heard a woman say..."Well, some people are so incredibly rude. They don't think they need to wait their turn to get on the bus and just shove in front of everyone who has been waiting." Now, we realized that she was talking about us! Of course, she was one of those guests who had arrived at the bus stop about 5 mins prior. So....my friend just said, something to the effect of..."Good thing we had those benches to sit on since it took almost 30 mins for the bus to get here.'' Now, I'm not sure that woman heard that or not...don't care much. But we sure as heck didn't shove in front of anyone.....we know the drill. We just got up and headed over to that 'yellow line' when we saw our bus coming.

But, I've been in line at POP, where they do have a que for each park. I've stood in that que, and waited patiently...only to have someone circumvent the que and head right to the bus door, and then try to just get on. I always wonder what they thought we were all in a line for!!!! Or those people that can see the 'do not enter' signage on the back door of the bus, but still head there as soon as they see it open. Of course they then yell and scream when the door starts to close on them!!!!
