Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

Enjoying your TR! Especially enjoyed seeing the Salty Dog tee on Tim(?) on the monorail. You're a good momma.

Thank-you! We LOVE HHI- we've been 3 times, and are trying to figure out when we can go back- maybe in 2014. Although I might be able to convince my hubby to go sometime for a quick golf trip-if we can ever get a decent airfare (we have always driven in the past). Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Haircuts finished, we headed back towards Fantasyland. Move it Shake it was STILL going on- just how long IS that parade, anyway?

I wonder how much longer it will be before one Dumbo becomes two?

IMG_3157.jpg

Next, Sean wanted to ride Winnie the Pooh- I have to say we tried before the haircuts, but even with the GAC, the line was just not moving at all. Sean was thrilled we were finally going on-

IMG_3158.jpg

IMG_3159.jpg

I have to say- his smiles were such a wonderful gift to all of us- there had not been alot of Sean smiles before this trip, we had been having a rough fall. To see him so happy was GLORIOUS!!

IMG_3161.jpg

We were on the FP line with our GAC, but we noticed all the new activities that were set up on the stand-by line. I LOVE that Disney seems to be doing this for so many rides across the parks- really helps pass the time while you wait.

IMG_3162.jpg

IMG_3164.jpg

Soon we were riding-

IMG_3168.jpg

IMG_3170.jpg

Next we decided to go for a drive on the Speedway. Look who we passed AGAIN!

IMG_3172.jpg

Sean said he wanted to drive- which is a first- so I did the pedals while he did the steering-

IMG_3176.jpg

My other two boys followed behind-

IMG_3179.jpg

IMG_3185.jpg

IMG_3186.jpg

Next it was time to hit the other two mountains, Splash & BT. On the way, I took the only character/kid pic of our trip-

IMG_3188.jpg

Sean is such a good boy- he walked right over when I asked him to- the other boys sure didn't! Poor White rabbit- he had no line- I told him i guess everyone ELSE was late, this time! We noticed that the building was now gone-

IMG_3190.jpg

And we passed some pretty birds-

IMG_3191.jpg

Sean and I went to get him some fries at Pecos bill's while the others went on the mountains.

IMG_3192.jpg

I have to say, the park was feeling very crowded, so once the boys were back, we all decided to return to BCV and go for a swim. Next!

I am laughing at Tyler's ear buds, not at Tyler but at my spouse. Rob bought Sarah "one of those machines" for one of her holiday gifts. Poor man, he does not know what he has done. :rotfl2: I see many battles ahead regarding her new "earrings".

Love Timmy's blue hair and Sean's enjoyment at being at Disney. Does Sean normally like rides that spin or involve wind? Just curious.

And secondly - do I understand sister. I'm forever reminding people (um Americans) that Toronto sits SOUTH of quite a few US states - and parts of many -and we don't live in igloos. Actually get less snow than Chicago. And then there are my own people - who HATE Toronto - Canadians love to hate it. It's a national past time. Tnink it's the devil so to speak.

Everyone gets less snow that Chicago, except maybe Buffalo... and that depends on the year. I grew up there, left about 34 yrs ago and haven't missed it at all, not even the CUBS but I have WGN and go see them in other cities.

this may be the best report EVER!

Loved your TR! Great tip about the Sangria! We stayed 4 nights in Oct at BWV and never noticed you could get it at the Pizza window! Now we know

Also loved your pics of your BCV room. We've never stayed there, and look forward to it. :goodvibes

DD got her first haircut at Harmony Barbershop this past fall. We had such a great time at that place! Your boys look like they did too. Love the blue hair!

:rotfl2: stalling cleaning? Well, thank you for your sacrifice - ALL for me!!

I was so looking for an update! and you have indulged me!! :worship: I do truly thank you for including the menus! When we first started planning our trip, we both had jobs, and I had visions of the chefs table at FF - now that we are scaling back our trip (and keep in mind it is our 30th wedding anniversary!) seeing the pictures and the tip about seating at the bar - :rotfl2: I cant wait for dh to come home so I can show him your pictures and say - we're so going to do this!!

Thank you for including all those pictures - I cant believe we're going to Disney!

just went back to page 2 - missed part 1!! DD 14 surprises me that everywhere she goes she always packs her "squishy" pillow (it is one that was popular a few years ago, filled with some kind of styrofoam beans - we cant seem to locate any anywhere!) that is held together in parts with duct tape - and a bear her brother got her on his first camping trip away from the family! I keep thinking she wont bring those on this trip or that trip - nope, she brought them on a High School Trip last weekend!

Hi Sandy! I am so, SO very sorry I missed your post somehow! I just read it this morning while trying to figure out where I left off so I could start again.

First off, Happy Anniversary and congratulations on your upcoming trip!:yay: There were several couples sitting at the bar eating, as well as several empty seats- I hope you like sitting there! :goodvibes FWIW, any restaurant that has a bar will allow you to order from the menu- including places like California Grille- so it's always an option to keep in mind if you can't get an ADR.

And your daughter's squishy pillow? Sounds very loved. :lovestruc

Thanks for reading-

So how is it going with the new earrings? UGH. We all love our ipods, but the earring thing is the worst- He does take them out more than it looks, though-

And yes, Sean loves spinning, not sure what you mean by wind- he used to go on all the rides, but then stopped when he was 11 or so- right when puberty kicked in- no more Space Mountain or BTMRR, no more heights. We have just spent all of Nov & Dec weaning him from one drug and have now started another- we are on week 2, but it should be at least 2 weeks more before we see the true effects of the new medication. Our fingers are crossed!

What's wrong with Toronto? I had a great time threre in a music exchange program when I was in high school- the band came to NJ for a week and stayed with our families, then our choir went up and stayed with their's- it was the BEST!!!! We all made so many great friends, and saw so much of your city- isn't there a park on an island? We went there one of the days- loved it!:lovestruc And very happy you like the TR, too-

It looks like you also got Push's handler in the picture, too! See the guy in the khaki shorts and plaid shirt? Pretty sure that's him!

Thanks! You know, I tried to look around for the handler, but honestly I was so fascinated by the garbage can I didn't give it much of an effort! :rotfl2:

Please post an update if you can. I so enjoy reading your trip reports.

I will- today, I promise- we had alot going on over the holidays and I was in kind of a funk-

Hi lilpooh! :goodvibes We stayed 4 nights in May at BWV and never noticed, either! ALways something new to try at WDW! :goodvibes

We love staying at BCV, but also love BWV- and pretty much all of the DVC resorts- I would go back to any of them. Still need to try VWL, though-

So cute, her first haircut at HB! :cutie: The perfect spot!!

Happy 2012 everyone! Here's to hoping for a FABULOUS year for us all!

We were back at BCV, and going for a swim- what was really interesting about that was this request came from Sean- who, in nearly all other circumstances, does not really like to swim. But in Disney? Seems he can't get enough! :goodvibes We all were happy to be hanging in SB, though, not just sean-

We took turns watching Sean and going down the slide- which, unfortunately, was shut down pretty quickly- the lazy river was also closed until 5pm (I'm guessing due to some bio problem, but what do I know. Other than MY kids wore SWIM DIAPERS until they were potty trained- and I really don't understand the parents who are ok with their wee little poopers swimming sans mars bar pool protection, but maybe that's just ME). Sorry- but I seriously think these people should be tossed out for LIFE!

Anyway.....there were games going on at the pool-

IMG_3198.jpg

The CMs seemed to have fun playing them!

IMG_3203.jpg

After about an hour or so, we retreated back to the villa. Through the solarium

IMG_3205.jpg

And past the mermaid-

Tonight we had an early ADR at Yachtsman Steakhouse, followed by some fun in Epcot.....next!

an UPDATE

Sorry you were in a funk. I do hope the meds will work for Sean. I love that you are sharing your pictures and your experiences, the snapshot of love! You can just tell the love from that one pool picture of your dh and the boys!

Its not easy day to day - but having the snapshot moments... helps!

Its been 2 years since we were at BCV - and it was too darn cold to talk about! (2010 Jan. epic cold - destroyed so many plants) We havent been able to take advantage of the swimming! 2 more sleeps till we fly to BWV!!

Thanks for reminding me about the Sangria! and since dh is running 39.3 miles in 2 days, I really havent that many reservations. We'll just be together. :wizard: But if he's up to it, we'll hit the bars up! :rotfl2:

Happy New Year to you too! I'm also hoping 2012 is going to be a great one... am sure it will be! :goodvibes

Totally agree with you that those responsible for bio related pool closures who didn't take the appropriate precautions should be banned for life!!! Yuck!

Looks like Sean was having a great time! Such a fun pool. :cloud9:

Looking forward to hearing what you thought of Yachtsman!

Happy to read your update!

I hope you and your family had a great holiday season and happy 2012!

Aww, I'm loving your trip report with all the photos! The BC is our home resort and our favorite place to stay. Sounds like you had a great trip! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to read more.

Love the update (totally agree about the bio issue) - and REALLY looking forward to the Yachtsman update and the inevitable food pictures! :yay:

Girl, you need to PM me when you start a new report. :goodvibes

Sorry girlfriend! Glad you're here!

That's really sweet- thank-you. :goodvibes My DH is an awesome Dad- he spends a lot of time with his boys, all 3 of them.

Its not easy day to day - but having the snapshot moments... helps!

Absolutely!!

Yea- that was when my friend Sally was there, too- I think she and her daughter have run it several times- have a great time, looks like the weather will be MUCH better for you this time!

Are you still doing it too?

Happy New Year to you too! I'm also hoping 2012 is going to be a great one... am sure it will be! :goodvibes

I hope so- 2011 was pretty rough for a lot of my loved ones....

We liked Yachtsman, and would eat there again- but probably would save it for when we are staying at BCV. I'll post the update in a minute-

Happy to read your update!

I hope you and your family had a great holiday season and happy 2012!

Thanks Ciciwoowoo!! :rotfl: You too!!

Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you are enjoying! BCV is beautiful- I'm always so happy when we are there!! But then, I'm pretty much happy everywhere!! :rotfl:

Love the update (totally agree about the bio issue) - and REALLY looking forward to the Yachtsman update and the inevitable food pictures! :yay:

Hi Spleen- my favorite Hawaiian travel guide! Lots of food porn on the way....

Happy New Year Ellen! :goodvibes

Your latest update was great. It is always so nice for a little downtime at the pool in the afternoon. It really refreshes you for the rest of the night to come!

Can't wait to hear your Yachtsman's review. We love to go there for a nice dinner. We also just love to go in the bar and have a nice glass of wine. Bonus is they take TIW at the bar! ;)

We were looking forward to an early dinner tonight at YS. Originally, we had planned on kicking off our vacation with dinner here, but when we realized we would be getting our new TIW the next day....well, no question- YS had to MOVE!!! :rotfl: 20% off there is no chump chnge, KWIM? What was available for a party of 5 was a 5pm ADR- so, although MUCH earlier than we usually like to eat, we just skipped lunch & had a snack- so by 5pm, we were FAMISHED!!!!

IMG_5475.jpg

IMG_5476.jpg

Accolades all around-

IMG_5477.jpg

Not too long of a wait at 5pm, that's for sure!

IMG_5479.jpg

IMG_5481.jpg

IMG_5480.jpg

We started off with a cocktail- I noticed they had something made with Gran Marnier- I believe it was a Grand Smash- it was Gran Marnier, OJ, mint & something else-

IMG_5483.jpg

O.M.Geeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Best drink EVAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!! I do love me some Gran Marnier, and rarely have I seen any cocktails where it is the main attraction- so I was a VERY happy girl! The other thing making me happy that night?

IMG_5485.jpg

Those amazing onion pull-apart rolls. I soooo love them- actually, THEY were the main reason I was so insistent on coming back here. I think I may have had 2....or possibly...3. And I am not usually one to load up on bread and butter (even WITH the sea salt on top)- but there was no stopping me at YS!

For Sean, we asked to have fries sent out asap, to keep him happy-

IMG_5486.jpg

Uh-oh. Looks like we're going to go broke tonight buying potatoes! :rotfl: Tyler ordered a lobster salad which I don't see on the menu-

IMG_5487.jpg

Tyler is a VERY good eater, but this was a little too sophisticated for my DS14. I chose the scallops (which were a different preparation than what I see listed online-

IMG_5488.jpg

Sorry about my big head- I just couldn't get it out of the photo- but those scallops were fantastic! My only complaint would be that they were small for diver scallops, but they were an appetizer portion, I suppose. Pods had Charcuterie Board - $15.00

IMG_5489.jpg

The offerings are different from what is now offered- but it was a great starter- and lots of fun to try so many things! They gave me a menu, since it was my birthday that month- would be nice if I had that NOW, huh?

IMG_5491.jpg

On to the main courses- next post-
