Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Thank you!!! I emailed the CL desk about the menus (we did the same thing two months ago for the Contemporary) and they were able to provide the current menu for Sunday but for Saturday (4th of July,) he said the chef is going to be doing a different menu for the holiday but did not have any details yet on what it would be….so exciting!!!!

**Has anyone asked for some desserts during the "appetizer" hour before the dessert time begins?? We will be heading to the MK area during the dessert hours to see the 4th of July fireworks and will miss it (only staying CL one night.) We didn't know if the CMs would be kind enough to give us a to-go container of at least cookies or a few of the desserts. If anyone knows, that would be great!!

Would you mind sharing the menu for Saturday, either here or by private message to me. Friends who have upcoming stays at CL- let me know if any of you check in advance to see what is served on different days.

:goodvibes:

Has anyone who ordered their Bath and Body Works Rainkissed Leaves received their orders yet? I am sitting here with my beach club-smelling hands and I was just wondering who else is smelling like the BC right now. What do you think? Does the smell match?

This is from the email I got a few days ago…..

The Chefs are working on a special menu for Saturday, July 4th, and they have not released it yet.

On Sunday, July 5th, we should have our regular offerings

Conch Fritters

Goat Cheese and Red Pepper triangles

Tomato & Mozzarella salad

Roasted Beet salad

Smoked Salmon Rosettes

and the usual accompaniments.

Yep, I ordered the day this was first posted, and received it on Friday...I like the smell, but since the last time we were at BC was Christmastime, I'll have to wait until our Oct trip to compare.

I'm sure it's been asked before, but I just can't find it so...

What are the earliest bus times to MK and AK? I have pre-park opening ADRs for each (at 8am). So when it says, that buses typically begin running 1 hour before park opening is that taking into account the early breakfasts?

Just wondering what the earliest time you have caught a bus from BC to either of those two parks was when they were scheduled to officially open at 9am (I am going end of Aug, if it matters). Thanks.

I'm not knowledgeable about the schedule but will share our experience from last Friday.
The CM told us buses for pre park reservations would come at 7 and 7:30. We arrived at bus stop at 7:25 and no bus came before 7:51. We finally took a cab. He dropped us at the Contemporary and we got there in time for our reservation.

So shoot for being there as early as possible. There was a CM at the bus stop with an iPad, and when she called at 7:50 the bus was just leaving the MK to get back to yacht and beach. Our bus luck was hit or miss.

I received the Aqua Blossom (A seaside escape of ocean melon, white lotus and dewy gardenia). I should get the Rain Kissed Leaves (Top Notes: Fresh Cut Grass, Morning Dew, Summer Rain, Crushed Green Leaves, Sparkling Grapefruit; Mid Notes: Lush Muguet, Bright Peony, Crisp Watercress, Pink Jasmine; Dry Notes: Musk Captive, Super Hedione, Fresh Transparent Woods) box later today. It will be interesting to compare the two recommendations for BC scents!

I just got a letter in the mail from the Beach Club regarding the construction noise. Let me know if you want me to post a pic of it.

We had to be at the MK for our Keys to the Kingdom tour at 8:15 am on a day that the park opened at 9 am. We got to the BC bus stop around 7:15am and a bus came around 7:22am. We got to the MK around 7:40am. they let people with ADRs and tour reservations in early.

Odd question. I have passes I bought through UT ages ago and I planned to use them for our next trip and upgrade them after we enter the parks (they're five-day passes). The girls will be upgraded to 8-day PH passes and mine will become an AP so I can get TIW, which will more than pay for itself the first trip and be of great benefit in January. For some reason I had it in my mind that it might be worth it to just buy the AP ahead of time and not upgrade. But for the life of me, I can't remember why. It's the difference between spending about $350 and $694. That first number is much nicer, in my opinion. Can anyone think of a reason I'd want to get it early and just pay that extra money? I know we'll use the pass I already have at some point. But if I'm upgrading the other two, it's not like I'm saving myself some time at guest relations.

I can't imagine why you would want to buy the AP ahead of time. :confused3

You are going to have to go to Guest relations anyway, in order to purchase the TiW card, and the guest relations booth at the International Gateway is the best one to use since it has the shortest line of any of the park entrances. Since you already have passes you do not want to buy an AP ahead of time. You want to enter the park with your UT tickets and then come back and bridge the tickets, upgrading them after you have used them. They will apply the current ticket price to the cost of the upgraded tickets, saving you the most money. You can even walk in and out of Epcot to do this, since the international gateway is right there. And you can buy the TiW card then, saving yourself some time. There are places in Epcot that take the TiW discount.

Just to further illustrate upgrading to an Annual Pass... Last February I had magic your way tickets as part of that package. Keep in mind that these tickets expired 14 days from the first day that I used them to get in to the parks. So what I did was enter a park (you have to enter a park to "activate" tickets) and then I went to guest services and upgraded to an Annual Pass.

Now let's say that as an example I first went into the parks on February 1st using those Magic your way package tickets. My trip ends on Feb 9th. I can go to Guest Services and upgrade my tickets to Annual passes on the last day of my trip (Feb 9th) but the Anniversary date of my annual pass EXPIRATION will be the first date that I used those Magic your way package tickets to get into a park, which would be Feb 1st.

As a side note I was aware of the scuttle butt saying that park ticket prices would increase sometime in February. All month I was watching to see if I would be able to get to the parks BEFORE the price increase. Needless to say the increase went into effect the DAY BEFORE I was able to get into a park. Since you have to purchase Annual Passes at Guest Services there was no way I could do this in advance of being at a Disney park or at Guest Services at Downtown Disney.

Wah, wah.....

So the moral of that story is sometimes Ninja Mom gets the bear and sometimes the bear gets Ninja Mom...

This!

I don't have anything definitive posted on Page 1 of this thread about when the buses start rolling because I have seen so many different answers that guests have received from CMs. I don't like posting information that I can't verify.

6:30 is the earliest I have seen stated as a time, but like others, I have also seen "1 hour before park opening". When a park opens at 7 am during busyholiday season does the bus start running at 6 am? or 5:30? I don't know!!!

:scratchin

To add a bit more confusion - Race Weekends, in which you have to be at the start line at 4-5 AM! In which you must take a bus to the front of Epcot. I try and get on the 3am bus. It's an adventure

I'm back after a few years of no WDW trip planning and I see that the CL lounge at the BC was enlarged. Does anyone know if they plan to do the same at the YC when they refurb the rooms? And also, any thoughts as to when the refurb (which is see hasn't started yet) will finish, or how long these things take in general? We've stayed at both the BC and the YC but I think I prefer the YC for the balconies and it's quieter atmosphere.

Just "de-cloaking" from lurker mode to celebrate my double digit dance and say I've had a great time reading this thread over the past year and cant wait to get to YC in a 9 days.

Almost there........

Sure! Nothing earth shattering in it, but I guess it's nice that they send it. Oh, and our Magic Bands came today!!! party:

Happy to hear your bands have arrived ... one step closer.

Thanks for posting. Interesting to note it says the work with the most potential for loud noise is being done between 9:00 am - 5:00 pm .... not that no work is being done before or after those hours.

For a discounted room rate maybe?

I think you only need to show the AP when you check in, not when you book, although upgrading later might not work.

For some reason I'm thinking it had to do with magic bands and FP and issues some folks were having. But it couldn't be that bad, or I'd remember the reason. And I'm not saving myself any time by buying it early since I have to upgrade the other passes anyway and get TIW. The first half of our trip is at Wilderness Lodge. I planned to make FP for MK that first night and make the upgrades there after we enter the park.

cantwaitvaca2009, you don't have to do it right away unless you want to buy the TIW card. You need to have an AP for that.

I thought that was interesting too!
