Disney’s Magic Band FAQ Link

for what it’s worth, you have the option of only ordering one ahead of time. You can decline your husbands band.

Hi all! I am a big fan of MagicBands but not a huge fan of the plus. I don’t need another thing to remember to charge. We have the ability to buy MagicBands at a discount since we are staying on property, but I’m not loving the bands I see and since we just went last year I don’t NEED to buy my husband a new one (he got a 2 last year, I got a plus) so it wouldn’t really be a great savings since I would be buying two and only needing one.

The point to all this is - are there more Magicband 2 designs in the parks? Would it be unreasonable for me to assume I could go to Disney Springs or our first park and get a Magicband 2 there (obviously would bring my Plus so I could have something until I get the new one). Or are the pickings in person as slim as online because of the Plus?
This question gets asked often as not everyone wants a MB+. I know I’m waiting for Disney to make improvements before purchasing.

Unfortunately Disney has stopped making the MB2 so there are less and less available. You may find some in the parks or at Disney Springs but each day there are less. Some guests have found them and others have not. You may wish to go to a store at Disney once you arrive and ask if they can look up stock on property. I’ve done this for other items then gone to the location that had the item I wanted.

I've been managing our MDE for years and now that sharing the account login has become a hassle with the updated security and other measures in place, I want to have my wife and two sons create their own accounts. My question here is, if they create their own accounts will their magic bands transfer to those accounts somehow? I don't see any info about this anywhere and I don't want them to lose access to all their old magic bands since we like to take some of them on our trips and reuse them for old times sake.
Call (407) 939-4357. Its support for My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+. Tell them what you want to do, and have email addresses for each family member that you wish to use for their accounts. They will split the person off from your account onto their own under the email address you provide. It will migrate all of their Magicbands, cards, tickets, reservations, etc. with them to the new account. It should take about 15-20 minutes per person you want to split off.

That is what I did for our son back in August in preparation for our October trip. He had turned 13 and wanted to do the Fab 50 quest and such so I wanted him to have his own MDE account. Originally I managed him, and his plans, his magicbands, etc. He did not have his own login (he couldn't because he was under 13). I made the call, told them what we wanted to do, and the Disney cast member did everything. When it was done, all his past bands, cards, etc. were on his new account, and the reservation was updated. While he and I were still linked on Friends & Family afterwards, and he was linked with my wife too (she has her own account), I don't recall if we had to re-link with anyone else or if all mine were linked with him.

There is a decent selection of plus at the parks. I’m going to try to head to Epcot tonight to try that pickle shake. If I get there, I’ll take photos of what’s available at one of the stores.

I am not a fan of plus as all. I use my 2 more than the plus, even though it no longer captures ride photos without a tap.

Ok, so we want to buy a MP+ for our son only and not us. We selected one for him, but can't seem to figure out how to pay for that band. Any suggestions?Screenshot 2023-07-31 at 8.05.20 PM.png

There should be a spot to mark that you are refusing the other two people.

It’s a spot that says decline.

There are very few mb2. Most are plus.
Thanks. That’s what I thought too but wanted to know for sure as this question is being asked a couple of times a week. Appreciate you updating with what you’re actually seeing (or, not seeing) when it comes to MB2.

Stock of MB2 is extremely low and will not be replenished.

Looks like in the AK and EP pictures you posted they are all MB+ with the only MB2 being the purple in the bottom right corner. Is that correct?
I did not take the time to look at the magic bands. I took the photos and moved along because I didn’t want to hold up my family.

We are DVC members and Annual Passholders. I have been looking at the Magic Band + selection on My Disney Experience for our upcoming trip in September. Do they ever offer the DVC or Passholder bands on MDE?

Yes, each time you renew your pass the option for a new mb shows up in MDE.

If you mean bands with "Passholder" or "DVC" printed/marked on them... for example:

Passholder marked bands at -> https://www.magicbandcollectors.com/checklist/?search=passholder&viewOption=all and DVC marked bands at https://www.magicbandcollectors.com/checklist/?search=DVC&viewOption=all

While they were available in parks and I saw some on Shop Disney, I don't remember seeing the in the MDE Pre-Arrival band selection.

There are a couple of the Passholder marked bands available on Shop Disney now.

I have a question about pairing magic bands. I received 5 magic bands and was able to set them up and assign them to people. I paired my MB+ to my phone. Do the other members of my party need to install the disney app to pair their bands? Do I pair all 5 to my phone? If they all need the app, can they use my login or do they need their own? If they make their own how do I make sure they have our accounts connected correctly?

Thanks!

Do you/they plan on doing the Fab50 Quest (all parks), or Batuu Bounty Hunter (DHS only)?

If yes, then installing Disney World app on and pairing their band with their phones and signing into Play Parks would be needed.. see also https://www.disboards.com/threads/disney’s-magic-band-faq-link.3875647/page-13#post-64547468

oh, also Bluetooth pairing and connecting the band to a phone allows selecting an alternate color scheme for the MB+'s LED, and the vibration intensity.

if they don't care about changing the Band's default settings, and don't plan on doing Fab50 or Batuu, you don't need to Bluetooth pair or connect to phone. Just assing in the Disney app.
