That's so awesome that you are doing the Wild Africa Trek. We did it in Sept 2014 and LOVED it. Our tour guides were so awesome and having the "snack" in the boma in the safari ride is super cool. As is having your personal safari jeep and seeing giraffes really really close! I want to do it again!

That's awesome I can't wait to do it. We've heard nothing but good things, and Josh really wanted to do it and he loves giraffes!

My new ears this week from Uptown Ears on Etsy:

Love those ears! And I love the dole whip ones from OhYeahApparel! I follow them on instagram and Youtube and have been waiting for their shop to open back up so I can snag some ears!

December trip: We bought our MVMCP tickets for December 13 this week.
We will be there the same night! Our first time!

I'm hoping Club Villain reopens, but if they keep only doing it on Saturday I have no idea where that would fit into either trip.

Me too!!!
I should post more of my ears I bought so many

I would love to see some pictures of your ears collection! I don't have any - never got into it and now I'm slowly coming around to the idea. I need some inspiration!

One of my favorite ear shops is besttrends15 on etsy these are from my blog post about them.

I'm in LOVE! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Thank you so much for sharing! I will definitely check out that ear shop on etsy. I would definitely be interested in a Star Wars pair so I'll take a look around for those.

Mini Trip Report-NYC

Well we're back from NYC. Things didn't go exactly as planned, and we found out we're not quite city people. :crazy2:

Friday:
  • Our train leaves at around 3 pm
  • Check in at hotel 1
884735f9-bf9b-4491-b0f9-ee57252598e2.jpg

This was our first hotel the Sanctuary. It was a really nice hotel. The rooms were a little small (what you see in the picture is it aside from the bathroom which was to the side, and the tv/desk on the other side of me), but I've heard that's pretty big by NYC standards. We had to move quickly though if we wanted to eat before Wicked.
  • 5 Napkin Burger for a quick dinner
We got there ready for a quick dinner, but realized it wouldn't be quick. The place was packed, I never even thought about making reservations for what I thought was a fast food burger place. They only had seats left outside unless we wanted to wait 40 minutes. So we ate dinner in the cold.

I got the avocado ranch burger, and Josh got the original with gluten free buns.

  • Wicked at 8 pm

Wicked was amazing! I've seen it a few times at a smaller theater, but seeing it on Broadway was great. I only wish I could've caught it when it first came out and Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenworth were starring. Josh enjoyed it as well.
  • See more of Times Square and our hotel

(Us in our hotels rooftop bar, I got a cocktail and Josh got a Jack & Coke).

The rooftop bar was pretty cool though:

We thought the poster for the bar was pretty funny. It looks like the poster for a new CW show about sexy angels. :joker:

Saturday
  • ADR DAY!!!
(Not any longer since we changed the trip).
  • Breakfast at hotel

The free breakfast wasn't much (just a few pastries and cold cereal). I ordered off the hot breakfast menu, and everything came completely covered in chives. o_O I ate it anyway, but Josh went for some cereal.
  • Shop at the giant Forever 21
Shopping didn't take half as long as I thought. For the first time I couldn't find anything. We went in a bunch of stores, before lunch. We weren't as hungry as I thought so we ended up canceling the Patsys reservation and getting some lunch at Planet Hollywood. Since their changing the ones in Disney Springs I thought this would be a good chance to see what a regular Planet Hollywood looks like and to try their menu.

(Mac and cheese with chicken, Josh had a burger).

Next we kept hearing about a Viking exhibit so we decided to check it out because Josh loves Vikings.

And they had cupcakes which I love.

By the time we got the the Museum of American History it was close to closing so we got in for free. We didn't see everything, but we did get a good chunk of it in before it closed.

We grabbed some food at the train station, and headed to Newark from there.

(Sunset from the train)
  • The Who at 7:30 pm
10644950_10154746778764478_7792804547022890669_n.jpg

We got there just in time for The Who. The Who is Josh's favorite band ever, and this was their farewell tour so he loved it! It was a birthday present for his 28th, but the concert got postponed till now. I'm not a big fan, but I know a lot of their songs and it was a good show.

Sunday
  • Breakfast at hotel
We ended up not having enough time to eat at the hotel, and despite the fact that I was all ready for the NBC tour:

(That's my Liz Lemon replica sweatshirt).
  • NBC tour/Rockefeller Center
We actually completely missed the train, and the next one wasn't for an hour. We didn't have any other plans for the day, and I was pretty bummed out. We were sitting in the train station (which is when we came up with the plan of changing around the September trip). Josh wanted to cheer me up so he suggested seeing a movie I wanted to see (Zootopia). I seriously have the most amazing boyfriend. First of all he puts up with my Disney love, my intense planning, and despite not really wanting to see it (though I think he enjoyed it once we got there) he'll go see a Disney movie with me if I'm bummed out. I loved Zootopia, but I knew I would. I adore foxes, and since the other Disney movies with foxes were so long ago most the merchandise and characters are pretty scarce. So I love that Disney made another movie with one of the main characters being a fox. Nick Wilde is pretty adorable.

Then we decided to see Madame Tussands since we loved the one in Orlando.

(This Will Smith was a lot better than his Orlando counterpart who was staring intensely at a fake fire).

To my supreme disappointment making it to Sugar Factory also wasn't in the cards. (Too far from where we were and we had already taken a few expensive taxi rides). But we are going in Orlando in December. I got a pretty good deli sandwich at the train station though, but it felt good to finally be home.
Aww I'm sorry you didn't like NYC! If you come back I can give you some tips, its always hard to find the good stuff

Just so I don't keep you in suspense ADR Day is going off without a hiccup so far. (Well a very small one), I accidentally made a reservation for today, but I have to call for Dine with an Animal Specialist so I'll get that taken care of then. Luckily my window opened for all the day except the very last so I'll just have to wait to reserve Whispering Canyon Cafe.
