Cases rising or dropping by you?

We continue to trend upwards in new cases. Between the county report yesterday morning and today, we rose 190 in confirmed cases in this county. People continue to not make good choices.

As a whole starting to drop and we will starting Phase 2 ( except a couple places) on Friday.

They have been steady in the 400's for the last few weeks. They have just extended the state of emergency til the end of the month. I'm in Ontario Canada.

Our cases are rising slowly, but our active cases have gone down. Our hospitalizations remain flat or down (it's been hard to get info, so hard to tell) and our deaths are flat. Currently our county of 500,000 has 566 cases (258 active, 304 recovered), 42 total hospitalizations, with 11 total in the ICU (but we don't know when those all happened) and 4 deaths.

Our county if 205,000 has averaged 2 new cases per day since 5/17.

However, casinos opened for Memorial Day and in person graduations took place last week. We'll see what happens over the next week.

Cases in our state as a whole have started to rise again and officials are sending stern cautions out for people to wear masks and continue social distancing.

A funeral caused an outbreak and a card game caused an outbreak in other areas of our state recently.

Is testing going to remain self referred or shift to Dr referral soon? I hope it remains self referral but I can't really tell.

Depends where you are. We have public testing (California) where you sign up and get tested if you want. You can't having symptoms. If you have symptoms you have to go through your doctor.

My town has 500 cases and 34 deaths and zero nursing home deaths.
Wow! That's a lot of deaths. How big is your town?

Our city of almost 300,00 has 189 cases and zero deaths. We have no nursing homes in our city, as far as I know.
These differences could possibly be attributed to different strains of the virus - west coast (DLgal) primarily came from Asia; east coast (mjkacmom) primariy came from Europe.

I have been following Iron River, MI since the get go (it's a spot my brothers frequent in the summer). Anyway, that county finally got their first case this week after 3 months.

Still rising here but more slowly and has certainly leveled of.

County of 900,000 with almost 16,000 cases and 528 deaths.

Our county is mostly now open with a few exceptions.

There was a big concern due to family gatherings over Memorial Day. I haven't heard much at all regarding the virus.

washington
I’ve been following Washington since my DD moved there right at the beginning of this. You have a couple of counties on the rise but as a whole, Washington seems to be doing pretty well. Seattle is mostly flat at this point. Those smaller counties have a rise of 50 cases here and 21 cases there that pushes Washington into the “rising” category. It’s the same in Nevada where Clark County/Las Vegas is flat/decreasing but you have smaller counties that have a rise of 10-20 cases pushing us as a whole on the “up” side. I personally don’t find either alarming when I look at the overall totals.

There was big concern for Mother’s Day too and our numbers never went up. They actually went down. (Referring to my hospital system numbers)

Yesterday I posted that my county increased by 190 new confirmed cases. Today’s number is a bit lower at 100.

Massachusetts is still declining steadily...new cases, hospitalizations, deaths, etc.. All good news there.
We aren’t fully open yet, however, but everyone is wearing masks in stores and out in public if you are near other people. I am convinced the masks help and luckily most are doing what they are asked to. Hoping this downward trend continues.
