Anyone going in Dec?

Where did you stay in MB? Yes, we will keep trying everyday untill.......

We stayed at Ocean Lakes--we called in January, and managed to get the last oceanfront site they had. We are brand new to camping--bought our tt last fall, and have used it 4 times. We picked OL because DH is considering storing it somewhere next winter so we can use it more...we get too much ice and snow, and with 4 kids, we don't want DH to have to tow it in the ice if he doesn't have to.

We managed to get Thanksgiving at FW less than a month before last year, because we had just bought our tt. It took calling everyday, several times a day, and checking online, but we pieced 3 ressies together. 1 day we got while we were there! So there is hope for your Christmas! :santa:

We'll be there. My cousin (a cast member) recommended this time because the crowds are really low and the holiday stuff is in full force.

Can't wait! Its our first time doing FW in our pop-up.

Mr. and Mrs. Testtubes will be in Fort Wilderness from Dec. 5-16. We will probably be joined by adult children for part of the time. Hubby Mike will be retired by that time, so we will try to schedule another trip for early spring 2009.
I (Karen) am a retired school teacher. Even with high gas prices and the La. heat, we are finding life grand at this stage of our lives. Thank goodness there are a few benefits of getting older. See a few of you in December.
Have a great summer.

Where in LA are you? We're in the New Orleans area. And yes, the heat seems to hitting way too early this year!

Hey Camping Cat, we are from a little community(Vidrine) in Evangeline Parish located between the small towns of Mamou and Ville Platte which are about 45 miles northwest of Lafayette and is considered the northern most part of Acadiana. Hence, all the names are French. It is about a 12 hour drive to Orlando for us and have been to New Orleans many many times. This next trip in Dec. will be our eighth trip to WDW and our 5th to Fort Wilderness. It's hard to believe that our first time to FW was in 1985!!
