Can anyone tell me what the coffee maker is like in the rooms at the Poly? I typically take my own coffee so I can have plenty :hyper: Thanks!

All the Deluxe resorts have the coffee makers that use the cuisinart round pods. :surfweb:

Thanks for the pics, Trishadono. You can see the pics just fine if you do a handstand! :rotfl: what's the deal with that tree they planted right outside the Hawaii window? That seems like that kills the view pretty badly. ???

Trish: Thanks for the lovely pics....so can't wait for August!! Hope you and your mom had a great stay too :goodvibes.

I saw on Tikiman Facebook page that Jan guests will get Typhoon Lagoon passes. Has anyone been there?
!
I like both TL and BB the same. TL main pool is more fun/waves and BB I love Teamboat Springs.:thumbsup2

Headed down to the World on a pre Christmas trip that I impulsively booked very last minute! Leaving in 18 days, staying at WL (after all this trip is all about all things Christmas and WL just feels like Christmas to me;))

Just booked our arrival day breakfast at 'Ohana!! I'm travelling with my GS who loves Stitch :) - I can't wait to be back at the Poly again, I've been missing it since we left after an amazing stay last August. Looking forward to showing him where we will be spending 9 days next August with the whole family!
The parks and resorts all decked out will make for an awesome trip:cloud9:

Thank you! We'll be there in a little over 2 weeks and I really appreciate your report :goodvibes
We loved our trip. Moms first and didn't mind fences at all! The CM's are the best, best!! The rooms are great too!
The cold weather here in Jersey is making me wish it was August already! I am anticipating this trip so much!! :goodvibes.

:goodvibes

We are in PA and are freezing, too. I feel the same way as you - our trip can't get here soon enough! We are looking forward to our return to the Poly.
:yay: Happy planning

Thanks for the pics. It looks so wonderful! It's storming here. :(
Thank you for the pictures trishadono!
Welcome! glad you like them.
Nice pics, thanks for sharing :). Hope you and your mom had a nice visit.
The best! Thanks
Thanks for all the pictures, trishadono, they look great! How fun that the Christmas tree in the CL lounge appeared over night during your trip--that would have made my day, too!

Made Mom's trip:love:

Thanks for the pics, trishadono! I haven't been to the Poly since the construction began but things seem to be looking a bit better especially on the beach. Am I right? Less going on in that area?
Actually I think beach is at its worse but still beautiful. The fences now on both sides. Really though the only issue we had was the long walk from Hawaii to boat launch. It is now a fence lined path.

My mom thought the fences were "neat" so Ok with us:thumbsup2

Actually Blueskies was there for her first trip and mentioned the horrible condition of that tree.

It has been there, they just trimmed it back. IMO it looks like it needs replacing.

Trish: Thanks for the lovely pics....so can't wait for August!! Hope you and your mom had a great stay too :goodvibes.

Thanks and you are welcome!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The place will look awesome for you "next year trip families"!!!!!:cheer2:

I added more pics to previous pages. Just in case it helps someone.

Sorry not the best quality. I thought Iphone 6 would be better but then again it could be the taker:rotfl2:

Trish Great pics! Thanks for posting them! :goodvibes It really was terrific getting to spend time with you and your Mom...Made our trip even nicer! :thumbsup2

psac That tree.... def needs replacing! lol....

My Poly thoughts...

A WDW veterans first Poly stay....

Although the resort has many construction walls the overall ambiance was lovely....and we found it to have a very tropical and relaxed vibe...and the flower leis upon arrival helped set the tone!

All restaurants, QS and TS, and shops were open, never heard any construction noise...but did enjoy observing some of the work going on...particularly one evening from the Hawaii lounge when there was some lighting testing going on in the DVC huts....

The only draw back of the construction for us was that you could not directly access the boat dock ...the only way to get to that walk way was to go thru the Great Ceremonial House....:headache: Not a catastrophe...just not as convenient has we would have preferred...

Rooms..Were brighter than I expected..with a soft green and warm tan color palette...and the room was spotless...I am a checker...lol..like my room to be really clean and it was..even stood up to the white glove test...well not really a white glove...but me running my hand over the chair rail area..not a bit of dust! :goodvibes we had towel animals every day...a very nice touch IMO...

Overall a very nice end relaxing WDW visit..which is exactly what we were hoping to have...:thumbsup2

MickeyNut While not a convert....and really did enjoy your fave resort!:thumbsup2

Review!

We were met at ME bus stop and escorted to Hawaii to check in:thumbsup2

Room was not ready but a text arrived in less than an hour with our room request.:cool1:(We were told at check in our 3rd floor request was met. It was nice knowing we got it without waiting to see.)

Took Mom up to see lounge and it was empty! I dragged her to the window for that awesome view:cloud9:

The cm's were just great all week. Lots of familiar faces:) They did a great job restocking everything and were very nice if you had any requests.

Mom loved all the offerings. Appetizers were enough for dinner for us. We needed to save room for desserts:lovestruc

The Special "punch" was available upon request during the day. I brought Mom a glass back to the room one afternoon and that was a treat for her to sit and relax on balcony:woohoo:

The construction : yep it is there. Only you can decide if it will bother you. In our room and lounge we were not effected at all. Walking the grounds is not the same as previous trips but for those few minutes not a big deal for us. The convenience of the monorail and resorts other benefits outweighed negative for us.

Having the decorations show up in Lounge was awesome:yay:

The shops and restaurants were still as nice as ever. I did grab I kids meal as a snack one afternoon from CC's. Food was same as May trip.

:santa: We had an awesome Christmas trip! Mom is already planning to go back again someday.

This polyprincess: is anxiously awaiting the opening of the bungalows!!!

Great review Trish! And I agree..CMs were very nice...and waking up to a tree decorating the lounge was so very nice! :santa:

As we have discussed...construction a non issue for us either...I kind of think that it was a bit of a bonus having the lounge practically to ourselves! :goodvibes A great experience for a first timer...

We enjoyed a late nite visit to CC..and the Hawaiian ( we were immersed..even with the food...lol..) flat bread pizza was super good!

 Miss you both too...It really was such fun getting to meet up!

PS..Get that new ticker going girl!!!

Thank you! How many does mousekeeping provide daily?

Usually 2 but ask Mousekeeping for more(if see in hall) or call and ask for more. I have never had a problem getting as many as I need.

Make sure to use bottled water for best taste. They sell 1/2 gallon(or so) size waters in the store.

Thank you! Do you remember how much the 1/2 gallon water is? Trying to decide if I have water shipped in or just buy that refill water bottles for the parks.

Sorry! I think of Disney prices like monopoly money so I don't stress out. 3-4$??

The big ones are almost the same price as the small and a better value yet not as cheap as buying out of the Disney bubble.

I just did a poly review and a question was " did you ask and receive items you needed" so they do care if you get enough coffee:thumbsup2

For 1st timers: poly is awesome. They have a box of stuff at the check in area if you forget something. (Advil toothbrush razer) if staying club level they have even more, like shower cap etc.

So if you need something ask where you can get it, if they have they will provide or even offer to send someone to get it for you.

I left my makeup at my MIl house last year when staying CL. They offered to go buy what ever I needed:thumbsup2

Deluxe resorts will try to be as helpful as they can. Just remember to be patient and reasonable.:)

No worries! I think I will just plan to buy the water for my coffee. I am really, really picky on my coffee. I found a DIS thread where people were talking about these new coffee makers and how awful the coffee was. I love my coffee! It can make or break my day. I feel like I need to find the coffee pods that fit these makers so I can take my own. Does anyone know where to buy the pods?

Trishadono glad you enjoyed your stay! We are looking forward to returning to Poly in August. It's been awhile!
Appies were enough for us for dinner at GF. And of course desserts! It's how I prefer eatting, grazing  ESP in August when it's so hot. I never feel like a big meal.

Good tip about buying water for the coffee  such a simple thing, but I never think about it!!

Do they still have the Kona coffee kiosk open outside Kona Cafe? I love grabbing a cup on my way out to monorail. I bring my resort mug & transfer it into mug. I didn't notice when we went over during our August stay at GF. Was too focused on checking out just opened Pinapple Lanai, and Capt Cooks pulled pork nachos

The best! Thanks

Sorry to hijack! We did ship stuff to CB in November via Amazon prime Pantry one was a case of water! It was worth it for us, well we had to also bring diapers which was the other reason :D however, if you have enough extras we loved Amazon Prime Pantry did the order on Sunday it arrived Thursday and we were there Friday :)
